I'm so excited to make this bread! I'm a line cook at a college and one of the students that eats with us is from Nigeria. When I asked him to tell me something great about his country, he told me about this bread. I'm going to surprise him on Monday with it. Thank you for sharing this with us!! Blessings to you and yours ❤

I tried this recipe today and it came out PERFECTLY, I wish I could post pics. My husband and 4 year daughter and I finished a whole pan. I doubled the recipe and made two batches. I didn’t hand mix so not sure if that makes a difference but I had to add almost 2 cups of flour to the recipe!! I did:
    600ml of warm water
2 satchets of fast active yeast
    Quarter cup of sugar
    8tbsp of butter (one stick)
    Dash of salt
Her recipe called for 21/4 cups of flour so I doubled that and I still had to add about 2 more cups of flour to the mixer but it still came out perfect!! Kneading and rolling it was KEY!! Thank you so much for the recipe and steps!!
I did my temp at 300 degrees for the first 20 minutes then 325 for another 10 minutes because anything higher and my breads burn at the top

Hahahaha I’m about to make this amazing recipe again and I just realized I used 600ml of water instead of 400 for double the recipe!!!

I have watched several videos on how to make this bread but have not succeeded in making it. Yours is the most promising. You give much clearer descriptions of ingredients (and you use less flour but get a bigger loaf!) and also the process you use is much more straight forward and less complicated. And you don't use a mixer. I will definitely use yours! Thank you.

    • @oyininthekitchen4598

Bread flour has more protein and hence more gluten than plain flour. And a high gluten content = better bread is most cases. But plain flour works good too . This recipe is certainly fine with plain flour
