  • Recent visitors to France will no doubt have noticed the return of foreign tourists. Two years of Covid-19 took a heavy toll on what is otherwise a booming business and an important part of the French economy. Now things appear to be looking up again for the tourist industry. For decades, France has been the number one tourism destination in the world, ahead of Spain and the US. So what explains this lasting success? We take a closer look in this edition of French Connections.

I wouldn't visit Paris... much too crowded. BUT there are a LOT of unbelievable interesting cultural cities/castles/ chateaus to visit when you leave the beaten paths.
Same with the cuisine: leave the expensive cities with its ridiculous restaurants and go for the small restaurants in the villages

Agreed. France is great, but Paris... a crowded, smelly sea of concrete.

I didn't check the spelling, but France's towns and cities were the most violent from all the places i've been, and that's a lot of countries. Police on every corner, so much money and no. Police-state solves nothing.

@@vitalijslebedevs1629 the countryside if much better, and I would argue it depends on the area. I visited Paris, was careful and everything went fine. There is way worse in Europe, like Northern English cities, Naples, Eastern Europe...

The other small twons are better but no Paris, because there's too crowded and too many pickpockets . And those citizens are very unpolite 🙄
