Hi Paul, nice informative video. A 12v extension would fix your pump power issue and make set up more practical. Your matress is a SIM, self inflating matress which usually only needs a pump on 1st use or after long term storage to revive the foam. I'll give your video a share to my Meta group Tesla Camping UK. Hope you and others will come and join us in the group if you're not already a member, be great to have you onboard.
Just ordered a new Model 3 and found your channel when researching accessories. Love all your content (not just the Tesla stuff) and it was an easy sub. Can only see your channel growing, keep up the good work, you’ll be at 50k subs in no time 👍👏
4:40 Model 3s in any year do not have ports in the trunk afaik. The 12v port is under the Model 3 armrest, Model Y has it in the trunk for sure though. I have a similar mattress to this for my Model 3 it is 4.5 inches though when filled w/air. Sometimes I wonder if it is a little too thick so I inflate it to allow the foam to fully expand before letting most of the air out. Other than the earlier correction, great video.
Thanks. My generation 1 (2020) Model 3 definitely had a 12v socket in the back right corner - I used it to run my tyre pump a couple of times. Not sure where you’re based, but it might have been a UK specification thing.
Try putting your head at the other end of the trunk, which works perfectly for me, offering plenty of legroom and allowing for a comfortable, flat posture for the head and body.
Awesome video. Just picked up a 2021 M3 LR and this has really helped my decision to try and give camping a go - not many UK posts like this so appreciate you giving it a go and such in depth filming of your experience! Can/did the screen turn off during the night or do you have the light from the ‘campfire’ on all night? I think I’d want that off personally!
Thanks so much - trying to support the UK Tesla community! The campfire screen turned off after a little while, don’t worry. I think Tesla camping might be the future! 😎
Hi Paul, I would really like to thank you for your posts on your M3RD. Ultra red also the best colour. 😀 Uk posts on these are slim and with you Paul, being such a genuine and honest family guy. Constantly checking to see if you have released any thing else. I’m hooked. If you could help me? I’m about to order a M3RD in ultra red my self through salary sacrifice. My question… enhanced auto pilot or not? I want it. 😂 But for £3400 what do we actually get for the money the uk?? I do a lot of driving through work and also a small family. Your opinion I know will help me decide. Paul you have helped me out with your posts. I now know what wheel trims to get and what accessories to get. Keep up the good work Paul 👍 is
That’s really kind, thank you. Happy to help! Honestly, I’m not sure I would bother with the enhanced autopilot. The advantages are minimal in Europe, such as self parking and I think it will change lane automatically when you indicate? None of the cool stuff works fully here, such as summon or full driver-less navigation. However, I would suggest buying and installing the Enhance Auto Commander unit and then you have automatic reengage of auto steer when you change lane (have a look at the S3XY button video) - that feature alone has changed my motorway driving and there’s lots more additional functionality. Plus, it’s less than £200 and there’s a discount code in my video description. Enjoy the car and there’s more videos to come - I have quite a backlog of products to review. Carbon fibre enhancements coming next Friday!
Really enjoying the videos, I have a 22 MYLR and waiting for a refresh MY, but I'm concerned that the reduction in power sockets is detrimental plus Tesla are replacing the 12v battery with a 16v lithium battery, how are all these accessories you feature going to work 🤔🤔
That's a fine question - I'll have to do some homework! Glad you're enjoying the videos, though - thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it!
It got a small mention. I used about 4-5% overnight, but that’s going to vary so much based on the ambient temperature. I don’t think it got especially hot or cold during my night in the car.

I really appreciate that, thanks. Not sure I’ve got the patience, or time in between my actual job, but I’ll certainly soldier on for a bit longer!
Hey great video Paul! Tempted to get these for my Model 3, if the Model Y camping goes well this weekend!
Thanks - enjoy! It’s surprisingly good fun.
Thanks for this! I am a Tesla owner and look forward to camping.
Have fun! It's really cool!

Do you have a link for the sleeping bag?
Hi. I don’t think it’s available any more, but here is the closest thing to it which I can find: amzn.to/4hZW52z
@ thanks so much, great review

Only worth it in the US with FSD.

You should’ve at least camped at the end of your street and really feel the adventure.
Ha! Next time!
I was waiting for battery usage at the end of camping.
