That last one is likely not a suicide. I live in Appalachian territory east TN (moved here about 3 years ago) and the locals here are very vocal about their tight-knit community and their hatred for the "feds" (or any outsiders, for that matter). Its almost like another country out here. I actually first heard about the census worker killing as a cautionary tale from a native from that area - moral being don't go bothering the people living in the hills. The people were convinced that this census worker was sent by Washington trying to get information on them and he said they had none of it. He said the entire community turned a blind eye to it with even the local deputies convincing the feds that it was a suicide. He then went on to tell three more similar tales about outsiders getting themselves killed in Appalachia, and he hasn't given me any reason to doubt his trustworthiness yet.

I think it is so sad that when a person comes to court and lies it’s called perjury but when a defense lawyer lies to defend the person it’s not called perjury it’s just called defending a person
It reminds me of a case where someone admitted to a brutal, ruthless murder, but their lawyer refused to let them tell anyone where the murder weapon was to "defend their case" I genuinely can't imagine what kind of mind it'd take to actively protect people you *know* committed a heinous crime for money
@@Kal_g I despise cops, but I recognize their usefulness. I’ve had an issue with cops manipulating not only me but my kids but I still don’t necessarily disagree with certain tactics and their utility in solving heinous crimes.
Defense attorney can't lie because they weren't there to be able to talk about the actions in question- unless they were in which case they wouldn't be a defense attorney and instead would be a witness. Even if you have a confession from your client, and indisputable evidence that the actions in question happened (i.e. video evidence of your client taking the life of another person), that doesn't mean they're guilty of the crime they're being charged with anyway.

6:50 "When it came time to cooperate, all of the women refused. Why?" Because SWers cooperating with the police means: -The high risk of being discriminated and humiliated by the police, investigators and judges for their work (and getting told they were asking for it bc it's their job) -Having to disclose their legal name and info, therefore putting themselves in greater danger, and possibly outing themselves to their families and loved ones, resulting in greater judgement and isolation In a country where police are litterally allowed to book a sex worker, have sex with them and then arrest them, I totally understand why they all refused to get into this case. 😔 WHICH GOES TO SHOW: if sex work were decriminalised, the case would have been opened a lot sooner, and MANY OF THESE WOMEN would still be alive. 😔❤️
Times were different--they wanted to stay out of the limelight. Until fairly recently many women did not come forward with such allegations. Going back about four or five years, the whole Metoo movement helped change this. It began a wave of women coming forward against high profile celebrities (Harvey Weinstein, Matt Lauer to name a few)
@@RtistiqSkubie How annoying that sex workers (who usually don't have a choice) have to live in constant fear of abuse and arrest simply for trying to make money. I'm still not sold on the last one being a suicide. Why do it in the absolute middle of nowhere? His body might not have been found for months or even years. That certainly would have hindered his son in getting to collect his life insurance money. Also, where is his laptop, his gun, and especially his SHOES??? The tape on his hands might have been loosened from him trying to get them free. As for how the word FED was written, we're talking about very rural Kentucky where exquisite handwriting skills aren't very commonplace, and a good pair of shoes are difficult to come by ~ if you have any at all. The laptop could have been sold and they could have taken the gun. Wasn't this the year that they were practically having to beg for census takers? If so, they definitely didn't need it getting out that they were being murdered. 🤷♀️ I'm just saying that I'm not completely buying the suicide theory.
Where were the gloves he used to keep his fingerprints off the tape? Where was the roll of tape? Were his socks dirty or clean? what about his feet under the socks? So many questions!
I was thinking with what he wrote those words? If he did it himself they could have confirmed it finding the pen/marker in the vicinity and testing it for fingerprints.
This was on Forensic Files, they found the marker in his house. They also found that his hyoid bone had two healed fractures, which is almost impossible for someone to do accidentally, so they believed he had tried it before. I think there was even more forensics but I don’t remember the details.
He probably hoped it wouldve taken them awhile to find him so that some wvidence wouldve been skewed-the dna on the rags, ink on his chest, condition of his socks, etc. They said there wasnt any marks on his wrists indicated a struggle. The condition of his feet would be interedting tho.
The writing upside down FED could also just as easily have been done by anyone before hanging him, especially if he was being held down by people and someone had to write it from an odd angle. I find the writing analysis extremely unreliable. Could a bead of ink not also result from lingering too long at the start of a letter? Or a false start while writing it? Could he not have been forced by a perpetrator to write the letters on himself? Human skin is also not the normal medium for writing, so relying on how we normally write is a silly thing for investigators to dismiss all other evidence over! This doesn't seem like a suicide at all, and something tells me they know that too?
But then again, it makes sense I'm assuming it was a robbery gone wrong, considering that *most* people resort to that long before cold murder, so there's a chance that either: A- She refused to get out, and they shot her to avoid having the attempt told to the police without a quick way of escaping B- She complied, but either fought back, or the trigger simply clicked before the holder was ready, since...well, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't know how to rest their finger on a trigger without pushing it too hard

Those cast iron caskets can keep the bodies looking fresh. If you check out some of the cast iron caskets with windows, there is a beautiful little girl looking like a cherub. Her golden curls and pink cheeks make it look like she had just been buried, but she had died in the 1800's. Her body so perfectly preserved.
You did indeed. Kitchen cabinet is a reference to a close group of non-official advisers, often to a president or prime minister. Don’t hear the term referenced much this century. I’m old, so it’s a familiar term.
For the second case where you mentioned the english personality - DID can often create fictives which are identities based off of, or are game, movie or serie characters overnight, usually after a stressful event
His mom saying she didn't see the multiple personalities is actually what made me believe he wasn't faking. She probably caused or at least knew about the trauma that caused the initial split. As more personalities emerged in his adulthood they would become more obvious which is why his wife's word means more than his moms imo. Not to mention the prostitute also said she witnessed them. The prisoner saying he admitted he was faking isn't a reliable source to me either due to the fact he's in prison and would do anything to get out. I don't believe he could've faked it that well
As someone with D.I.D, thank you for using the proper terminology!!! It's extremely frustrating when people still use "multiple personality disorder", due to it not being used anymore.
Theyre just words. They mean the same thing and it shouldnt offend you for someone who doesnt know to use different terminology that means the exact same thing. This is part of the problem in todays society is everyone being offended by everything. Thats how we lose freedom of speech and expression.
I know multiple people with DID in person, and they're all genuinely lovely and incredibly understanding people. It's sad the only time people with DID/systems get brought up is when it's about one that just so happens to be dangerous. Most of the time they're more likely to be the ones harmed than the ones doing harm.

Eh, it's good-hearted but at the same time kinda mean because someone could end up going to jail for killing him. I don't think it should be encouraged. Plus, suicide should not be rewarded... it is killing someone, after all.

Some tips for Dutch cases with 'insane twists':
- Murder of Henk Peters (murderer frames some other guy for the crime, also calls the victim's mother and sent her a wreath for the funeral)
- Death of Niels Offerenins (guy falls from church tower in the Netherlands, first people think it was an accident or suicide, then the girlfriend confesses that she pushed him, then she retracts her confession again)
- Deventer murder case (old lady is murdered, first her financial advisor is suspected, then released because of mistakes made with acquiring evidence, then he is suspected again because of DNA evidence and an entire media circus starts with a famous Dutch person (Maurice de Hond) suspecting the victim's handyman of murder)
The real crime Is that they called Thier twins Ronald and Donald
Literally ronald mcdonald vibes
When Donald said his twin I even said to myself "imagine it was Ronald"
Cruel
As kids they most likely will have been bullied for it too..!
LOL....now THAT is FUNNY....it's pure comedy gold... if they simply took their freakish act on the road...they could have been RICH and stayed out of trouble..
SO....you got RONALD... who is simply a super wealthy clown with big dumb feet who is all about selling tons of burgers and fries not matter how bad it is for everyone.. ..and he also pals around with that weirdo GRIMACE.. who is supposed to be some kind of mutant milkshake ?? then after CAPTAIN CROOK finally got busted for selling veggie burgers and sent to jail... ... in comes that gibberish talking ...ROBBLE ROBBLE... the other freak.. the weirdo that the police is always after ...the one and only "THE HAMBURGLAR" ....
THEN you got DONALD...and he is just always pissed off because...well...
because... he is just a stupid duck .. he just sounds ridiculous...and he just can't seem to find his damn PANTS... or for whatever reason...he just simply does not like wearing them...they could have made an act out of those silly names of theirs...
Imagine trying to make fun of someone and not being able to spell an extremely common word. That's the real crime. 🥴🤣
"Someone has desecrated our graveyard ", "well let's put it in the front room and charge $5 a look". Who's the baddest villain in this ?
That was very common in the south after the civil war. Rampant poverty and lack of other opportunities meant that many enterprising people would charge fees for any geographically interesting feature like a cool cave, river, hill, or weird boulder. Weird graves or creepy stories included! Look up the Kentucky Cave Wars if you’re interested in a longer story on the topic
And they called him a hero

I worked for the Census Bureau the year William Sparkman killed himself and it was HUGE news around the office. We had so many concerns about sending workers into certain areas that were known for racism or violence and we didn't need this type of added pressure. I felt so sorry for his family.

Same about Forsyth county GA. I'm from Chicago and lived there for a year and what a scary place
If you want the true story of what happened to Bloomingdale's mistress read An Inconvenient Woman by Dunn. She was killed by Bloomingdale's wife's son, she lived in the house he bought her, not a condo. Bloomingdale's wife was the best friend of Nancy Reagan.

I use his murder speak to help me sleep! Not sure what that says about me but.... lol
I think it is so sad that when a person comes to court and lies it’s called perjury but when a defense lawyer lies to defend the person it’s not called perjury it’s just called defending a person
It reminds me of a case where someone admitted to a brutal, ruthless murder, but their lawyer refused to let them tell anyone where the murder weapon was to "defend their case"
I genuinely can't imagine what kind of mind it'd take to actively protect people you *know* committed a heinous crime for money
Don't forget 🐷 during interrogations🙄🙄
Reminds me of when cops lie and gets away with it too
Many royals in the Middle Ages were buried under iron and there are some weird stories of people digging them up during church reconstruction and there still was flesh and stuff on the body
6:50 "When it came time to cooperate, all of the women refused. Why?"
Because SWers cooperating with the police means:
-The high risk of being discriminated and humiliated by the police, investigators and judges for their work (and getting told they were asking for it bc it's their job)
-Having to disclose their legal name and info, therefore putting themselves in greater danger, and possibly outing themselves to their families and loved ones, resulting in greater judgement and isolation
In a country where police are litterally allowed to book a sex worker, have sex with them and then arrest them, I totally understand why they all refused to get into this case. 😔
WHICH GOES TO SHOW: if sex work were decriminalised, the case would have been opened a lot sooner, and MANY OF THESE WOMEN would still be alive.
😔❤️
If you think it should be decriminalized you're absolutely crazy. Your reasons were sound but in no way should that "work" be legal.
Wouldn't you rather they do that kind of work of their own volition rather than having no alternative? Whether you agree with it or not, there's no reason a choice made between two consenting adults should be illegal that's just ridiculous.
@@RtistiqSkubie Decriminalization isn't the same as legalization.

🤷♀️
I'm just saying that I'm not completely buying the suicide theory.
"Either she refused to get out, or she agreed." The logic overwhelms me.
But then again, it makes sense
I'm assuming it was a robbery gone wrong, considering that *most* people resort to that long before cold murder, so there's a chance that either:
A- She refused to get out, and they shot her to avoid having the attempt told to the police without a quick way of escaping
B- She complied, but either fought back, or the trigger simply clicked before the holder was ready, since...well, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't know how to rest their finger on a trigger without pushing it too hard

I’m high, but I could swear I heard that.
