Summarised the video for people in a rush. However I will strongly suggest to watch the video in its entirety so that you understand his reasoning behind his viewpoints. 1. You love doing research in your field and you want to work with people who are the best in their fields. 2. If you love your job and are passionate about it, do it in a first world nation instead of staying in the third world country- You will have a better quality of life. 3. Diversity and networking are better since you’ll be meeting different people from different parts of the world. 4. Quality of life is one of the best in the world. 5. You have no plans of opening up a business. Since you’ll be presumably be on a student visa/ OPT/ H1B, you’ll have massive restrictions. Getting a green card is incredibly difficult.
But it depends on people..,for different people different countries are 3rd class countries...,I don't consider India as a third class country because mobility us good here,if we work hard we have all the chances of reaching the status that we want.., Happiness also matters , family also matters... it's not just about money...,For me USA is 3rd class country because many are just working there to survive, paying bills etc.,.
Bro, you totally make sense. Even if you like to do job, even then coming to USA doesn’t make sense. Why? Bcz more than 95 percent companies won’t even consider taking interview for international students just because of sponsorship. Companies in USA now are more reluctant to sponsor H1b even. I am currently on opt and i haven’t secured any permanent job. There are some consultancy that may hire you but they will just exploit you to the very best. Even then there are many people who are jobless. It’s just a gamble, nothing all. Having a big loan on your head with such circumstances will even make a strong person full of anxiety and hopeless. Now, I am in the process of applying to Canadian Pr before my opt ends up and I go back to my country.

Thank you Yash.Been following your posts for a while and I dont think I have found anyone as sincere as you with respect to your posts. Im considering an MBA at the USA or Canada and these videos got me thinking again.
Sorry for the huge essay, I dont usually post such lengthy stuff online but I really needed some opinions while applying to USA/Canada. Hi Yash, Love your videos, Super helpful! Also subscribed to YMGrad for knowing the chances of getting into a university. I'm currently applying to USA and Canada for a Master's degree in Cybersecurity. I currently reside in India and don't see people talking about cybersecurity at all! It's like its non existant here. So I plan to go to USA/Canada to learn cybersec and get a job that is actually about trying to bring about a change in the "security" aspect of instruments of the online world. But I also learned that I care about my freedom to be able to do what I want, when I want, more than being stuck in a 9-5 that can potentially forget about me when I stop being useful. I plan to study abroad, work for 3-4 years, hope for a PR in the process, and have enough wealth to start a business with maybe a loan or partnership. But I also absolutely hate how the standard of living of the general public around us in India is. Where I come from, lets just say its a tiny town in the middle of nowhere. It's a rare thing to see people own an Audi or a BMW or even find people that believe in a quality lifestyle! Most people in India are about saving as much money as they can, all the time! I get that its due to tough times as life can be rough, but almost everyone's super money minded. Then you'll see a ton of freeloaders cling on to you when you're trying to meet like minded people and you realise there just aren't many like minded people around us, not to mention gold diggers :P . I'm going abroad hoping to make new friends along the way that are more in sync with where the world's current state is! Technology has made almost every aspect of life better! For example you can see people owning houses with remote closing garages, vaccum bots for automated home cleaning, self driving cars, smart homes, and availability of almost everything! Like Netflix in Canada or USA has better shows! More music variety is available on spotify and apple music in USA than in India! I feel that overall life convenience also increases when we move from a third world country to a place like USA or Canada. I'm a big time foodie and love trying new things! But here in India I'm afraid to try new food from Korean, Japanese, Thai restaurants because I know most of them won't even taste like that country's authentic food and I'll end up forming misconceptions about how a country's food tastes or might just end up disliking everything! Basically, overall lifestyle in India is really different from first world countries, like you wont see cows pooping on the roads, or smelly people roaming in mob sized groups trying to meet their day to day needs. Or people refraining from living a little. The jobs in India pay as low as 10k per month for people that complete their bachelors or the max they'll get is 1Lakh per month, unless you've graduated from something like IIT. When in reality, a decent lifestyle, with a rented home, and a german car, with the financial ability to party occasionally, would easily cost a person between 1.1-5L INR per month in a city like Mumbai. It's simply impossible for people with a regular job to pull off a decent lifestyle in India because prices keep going up and job salaries stay the same. Is it the same in USA? Or is it better? Can we afford a good life while earning enough to put aside 30% of the income for wealth building for a future family? I am dying to know if I can pull it off in USA or Canada. I saw your previous video about why one shouldn't go to USA for merely money and quality of education. I really hoped good learning would make me more skilled in cybersecurity and that in turn would give me enough money for my needs while allowing me to build wealth. But im not sure anymore as I'll be doing my master's from a university below the QS top 500 most probably due to my new GRE score being a sad 293. Should I just stop thinking that jobs in USA or Canada can give instant gratification? Because in the long run I want to be free. The goal is to be able to afford all those things I mentioned above, while not being stuck in a 9-5. In short im doing this for financial independence, for good quality of life, and stability to an extent that even if I dont work my ass off daily, I won't have to suffer in pay or have a lower performance index at a job, making the future difficult instantaneously. Am I expecting too much from Jobs in Canada/USA? Is the picture I've painted about quality of life abroad too rosy?(Canada being my main target now because of the low GRE and an already late application for 2022) What would you suggest? And is life there better for people that are lazy since birth but passionate about cybersecurity? :P
Research is my reason for applying this year, not good grades in 11th though, so really narrow chance of getting accepted, also I would need a full scholarship, another reason for low probability of getting accepted. Gave my full effort to the applications thou, and have many extracurricular activities on my list.
Honest opinion but also scary for someone who has been hoping to study abroad. I just want to know if your opinion holds true for just US or other developed nations where international students are going for higher education.
Are you confident enough to say that the highly salaried companies do always take away the freedom from their employees? (Just asking. I have no experiences)
What do you suggest for people who want to be more than job ? You suggest this is not the place to settle, but then what could be your suggestion ? e.g Be in your country to start business.
The day people understand that money is not everything and not the only reason behind happiness, they would understand your point. Nice video and yes, people with different perspective for life may find it hard to understand.
@Yash.... If I go without a loan to US... Do my MS and work for 3 years in the US and then will it make sense if I come back to India (regardless of my pay)..

Less discrimination? That's not true. I had not seen true racism in 20 years of my life in India and then I went to the US.
