Thanks heaps Dan! Mate, I couldn't believe how steep it was in some sections. I reckon some of the loose, steep sections were quite a lot worse then Billy Goats!!
River crossings are definitely an artform. Like anything on two wheels - neutral body position, steady throttle (in the power band or you'll just bog), and vision up. The bike'll do the rest. As for steep descents - neutral is definitely not better. Select a low gear, engine brake, and if the descent is so steep that it starts to overrun then simply drag the brakes. Believe it or not, the front brake is your best friend when going up AND down. Like anything though, the lot of it takes one thing and one thing only - practice. Gorgeous place! Would love to ride there!
Thanks mate, I'll keep that in mind for next video, though I've listed below some of the tracks featured in the video. - Huggets Track (this was where the first river crossing was) - Mt Angus Track - Avon Track (a few more creek crossings with some really steep sections) - Mt Margaret Track
That was some action at the first water crossing but by the size of the boulder you can see why. Downhill isn't my favourite on any bike(excluding a mtb) and those ones look very hard. Well done and cheers 4 sharing sir.
Hello Josh, I have been catching up on your Evolution gaining more confidence and skill set for off road conditions, well done. David...Adelaide....Triumph Scrambler 1200X and 900 .....
Great job on the video. They were some tough tracks, the big rocks on the river crossings knocked you guys about a lot! It's weird going downhill with the engine off, clutch in to go, clutch out to stop. I constantly have to stop to think about it.
Mate those tracks look challenging , water crossings i hate too for the fact who knows what borders are under there. I really should carry a plug spanner. Great job Josh and all riders.
The porta-potty struggle is real 😅 Goes to show how one drowned bike can really chuck a spanner in the works but looks like ya still had some awesome fun 🤘
Haha I'll be honest, these were actually quite well maintained but still not ideal 🤣 Yeah, was still a great time and was good to actually see how to de-water a bike, it was a first for me!
Yeah, it's definitely easier going uphill on the bigger bikes. I stiffen right up going down hill on my V-Strom, but find it a lot easier on my DRZ. Those downhills looked challenging though! I'm no expert but I think sometimes it's better to paddle across those tougher rocky creeks to keep the bike upright, rather than risk dropping it. That looked like an insane weekend of riding. I do love the Victorian High Country. I'm tempted to bring my DRZ down there. Mark is such a machine. Always good to see him riding. I've never ridden motorbikes with him but we did the Epic mountain bike trail at Mount Buller together and he is a beast on the MTB too. 🤣
Yep, for sure! I was thinking about the paddle technique but wanted to do it like the pros and stand on the pegs hahaha 😂 It sure was, and yep, Mark is a gun on that AT!
Thanks! 😁 After I got back, before I’d even had a shower, I already had the files transferring over and by the time I was fresh and ate some food, I was editing until I passed out haha 😂
Wow impressive video great fun. I am the opposite quite happy on the river crossings but pretty scared of the downhills. This looks like a great adventure can you tell me the name you went through including some of the rivers. I would love to have a go next time even though Billy Goat beat me up a bit.
Thanks heaps, Tony! The tracks in the video include: - Huggets Track (first river crossing) - Mt Angus Track - Avon Track (the other crossings) - Mt Margaret Track
Mate they look pretty tame tracks to what's at the Glasshouse Mountains in QLD. If your ever over this way , Give us a shout. Check out midweek adventures on here. for a little taster . Safe riding
You should mate! Yeah, worked that out after the first one haha. That first one in the video was my first ever crossing, so it didn't go how I imagined it in my head, but happy making it across without drowning the bike!
Thanks dude! I sure am, it works well for mostly off-road but I reckon I’ll go 14/50 next time I replace them. Will make it a little better on road and also mean chain is further from slider, so it shouldn’t chew into it as much.
Most of you have no idea how to ride and no balance? So what makes you think you could ride a heavy "adventure" bike with too much gear? Dirt biking is ALL about standing up, looking ahead and MOMENTUM. Park the twins in the shed for a year,,, get urselves a cheap enduro bike and learn the craft first. This is a constructive criticism btw 😂
Awesome Josh 🤙Good to see the Avon river back to a normal level. Proper steep county in there, credit to the team getting through that area.
Thanks heaps Dan!

Excellent work. You're the first adventurer I've seen that folded they mirrors when they are off road. Thanks for sharing your trip.
Thanks David, glad you enjoyed it!
No idea on water crossings..always look frightening to me 😬 Look forward to Roclin Moto's video👍
Yep, not much room for error haha!
I too look forward to their perspective of the ride! 😁
Great vid mate, all those challenges just make a trip more memorable.
Thanks mate and that’s exactly right!!
Smiling again now! Was tired almost asleep
I had a lot of fun editing this one, some great moments on the trip! 😄

You’ll have to one day! 🤙
Man…there was some decent riding from everyone, great vid mate👌
Thanks heaps mate! 👍
Good job guys. Great to see no one left behind. Would love to see Mark getting that big AT up billy goats 🐐
Thanks Adam!
Yeah, that was the plan for this one but that's for another adventure now! 😃
Great vid.
It would be great if you could name the tracks and rivers as you go.
Thanks mate, I'll keep that in mind for next video, though I've listed below some of the tracks featured in the video.
- Huggets Track (this was where the first river crossing was)

Hey David, glad to see you’ve been watching the videos and have seen an evolution!
That was a sweet adventure. I’m getting ready to do some this summer (N. Hemisphere) on my WR as well.
Thanks heaps and enjoy your adventures on the mighty WR!
Great job on the video. They were some tough tracks, the big rocks on the river crossings knocked you guys about a lot!
It's weird going downhill with the engine off, clutch in to go, clutch out to stop. I constantly have to stop to think about it.

Yeah, it’s super weird haha!
Watching from Arizona…entertaining.Thanks!
Thanks Greg! 😁

Thanks Bazz, it definitely was a challenge!
Yep, plug spanner is super important if you plan to cross rivers haha!
Good job Josh you’ve got to love the high country, steep tracks, crazy river crossing, perfect 👌, great edit 👍😎
Thanks heaps mate, it really is a special place! 👌
Wow epic trip. Some steep hills, if you were having issues on the little bike I can only imagine how the bigger heavier bikes went going down hill
Thank you mate!
It sure was steep, GoPro never does it justice!
@@AusMoto no cameras never do it justice lol

Yeah, was still a great time and was good to actually see how to de-water a bike, it was a first for me!
It is amazing how the camera flattens these out! I know they are monstrously steep
Yep, only people that record trails on actions cams know just how much it's flattened when watching the footage haha!
Awesome content as usual josh 👌 love your videos
Thanks heaps mate, appreciate it!
@AusMoto I saw they graded billy goats bluff last week be good to see how it goes
@ yeah, I’m keen to get back out there to give it another crack!
@@AusMoto I'll wait for the vid!

You target fixated on THAT rock, saw it coming immediately.
Yep, that’s exactly what happened hahaha
Awesome video mate! 👍
Thanks heaps! 😁
Still astonishes me how quickly you can put out a video. Awesome edit mate! Billy Goat is a definite next time! 😁 (and Mt Margaret)
Thanks! 😁

@@AusMoto 🤣. Surely you have a USB port like some kinda android that makes you able to edit in your sleep.
@@roclinmotomedia 😂🤣
Stand up. Stand up and stand up some more.
Yep, that's usually the plan haha!
First gear, clutch out and ride down hill, thx for the vid
Yep, made the mistake of staying in neutral thinking I could modulate the brake enough but it was just too damn steep!
Great video, the porta potties here in the states aren’t any better!
😂
Wow impressive video great fun. I am the opposite quite happy on the river crossings but pretty scared of the downhills.

Makes me wanna drag my ol gurl out.
Tip of the day,, slip the clutch and keep the revs up crossing rivers

Did they try and dewater the other bike? T7 are a pain to dewater
Thankfully the T7 (and my bike for that matter haha) didn’t take in any water since it was dropped in the shallow part 👍
😎🤘🏼
🤙
Good stuff man! Are you still running the 13/48 sprockets ?
Thanks dude!
I sure am, it works well for mostly off-road but I reckon I’ll go 14/50 next time I replace them. Will make it a little better on road and also mean chain is further from slider, so it shouldn’t chew into it as much.
@@AusMoto 14/50 will be good especially for off road, I'm running 14/48 (WR) which is fairly good all round..
😮😮 well done mate 😁 looks like the WR is quicker than the TTR 😥 my top speed is 120ks (down hill with tail wind) 🤣🤣
Haha that speedo is completely out since changing tyres and sprockets. 130 is more like 110 😂
@@AusMoto ok thanks 😁 i dont feel quite so bad now 😉🍺
Hey mate do you have a GPX file?
Hey mate, unfortunately not, main tracks we hit though were
- Huggets Tk
- Mt Angus Tk
- Avon Tk
- Mt Margaret Tk
Thanks mate. I've got a few routes. I'll see where these are in relation to those. cheers
