Man I was waiting for a video like this because I have to change the laptop that I bought during covid and it's starting to die while I use it for the record I'm studying computer engineering😅
Andres, man I am about to start college and was debating if I should get a new laptop (preferably MacBook). I currently have a mid 2019 MacBook Pro and use Adobe creative suite a lot. Like always love your videos and really think you’re an underrated creator. ❤
Yes we need more people doing videos like this for not everyone can afford 1K laptops, and they don't need all those crazy features that come with it! They just need it to watch TH-cam videos like yours!😊
Why do people keep saying for a 1000$ + laptop that it's affordable?? It's not. Affordable laptops are less than 900, over that it starts getting mid/high range
“affordable” and “budget” are vastly different from person to person. I’m not sure if you made it 3 minutes into the video where he talks about it, but you do you
@@newolde1 who the fuck buys mac for people that are saving up? Do you know other laptop brands exists? that you can buy literally for $500 less and runs better than a MacBook? fucking retard
Depends on your needs and standards. Some people will buy a $400 celeron laptop and be fine with waiting a minute for it to boot up or for web pages to load or for ms word to save a document. The less you have in a laptop, such as lesser build quality or lesser specs, the more careful and more conscious you have to be of your PC, and the sooner it will be left behind in terms of operating system performance minimums. You may be gentle, you may not care about having a cnc aluminum chassis. I at least care about the bottom and top panels not flexing and the battery life being worth a damn. It’s no secret that a desktop computer can be built for cheaper with similar hardware specs. So if my laptop can’t do this much for more than 5 hours, it feels as though I’m paying money for the same shit I could have had 10 years ago. In that sense, did you just get ripped off? I’d say so. I’m willing to save up a little more and pay $800 for a system that meets standards that I can live with for the next 6 years. That is why I will never settle for less than 6 cores. That is why I must plan for my battery’s degradation. If I own a laptop for 1 year, then I can expect my battery to have lost 30 minutes of average battery life because that’s lithium ion for ya. So in 6 years my laptop could very well not survive 30 minutes before needing to be plugged in. That’s why higher quality hardware and matters. You do get what you pay for when you buy computers: as always though, laptops come with a $100 dollar premium at least, and that goes for your $300 one too. You want to ACTUALLY save money? Build your own desktop with a 6 core and that will be an infinitely more reliable and long-lasting purchase than anything with a battery. If you’re truly tight on money and you’re scraping by, you should just be willing to walk to your desk and save on the laptop premium. He makes many fair acknowledgements about the idea of a budget laptop purchase.
I have the 2018 Vivobook model. All these 6 years, many problems have arisen such as a sunk trackpad (still works fine but is deformed), a shutdown HDD, and a defective fan. I'm using this for Civil engineering-related software and I could say it is not for 3D design tasks (Revit, Civil 3D, Infraworks, etc) but it works fine for analysis software. I think this comment relates to 5% of viewers.
I absolutely love your videos, esp because of how good the quality is! Also, it shows how much thought you put behind making each one of them! :)) Good workkk
This finally seems the answer to my 3 month search. I came across this laptop a few times but kept brushing it off but after watching this video I've decided this is the one I need for work for the best value overall.
i've been using my asus vivobook pro 14 OLED for a year now and i've had problems with my SSD for reasons that are still unknown to me (i already had it replaced), but overall, it is useful for students/people who only do simple tasks with their laptops (browsing, watching videos, paper work, etc.)
Great to see that your mobility is back bro! They dont make budget laptops as budget as they can be, we talking about those toshibas and acer laptops that are as thick as a harry potter novel
While I agree I also think to do with form factor. It's difficult for manufacturers to make slim devices while they still have sodimm slots, extra HDD locations, network cards etc.
New Sunday new Masterpiece! great video and top notch quality like always! keep up the good work! Budget laptops can be a real lifesaver for students and I highly recommend them especially if all you do is just notetaking and web browsing or some light devwork!
6:31 You're totally wrong about the fan noise. It can get really loud and sometimes bothers people around me on heavy load. Most of the time, I have to switch it to standard or whisper mode when I'm at work. The laptop gets pretty quite in those modes but it sucks when you can't use the full power of your laptop when you need it. Overall it is a great laptop apart from the fan noise on heavy loads
In my country their prices are at least twice as high as the real number , that's why a 1000$ will become around 2100$ or even higher which is NOT "affordable"for some people.
I was between this Asus or the Acer Swift Go 14 (Core Ultra 7 155H, 16GB, 1TB). At the end I get the Acer, it was $699 at Cotsco, is not Oled Display but its touch screen. Great review btw !
Love to see you wearing the Galaxy Watch, you really living with the Galaxy ecosystem unlike lot of Apple fanboy TH-camrs who just go back to apple the second they get a chance after making a video on their switch to Samsung
The PERFECT laptop for students would have an RTX gpu. This doesn't have it. I'm sure for the same price you could get a Zephyrus or TUF gaming laptop, even if it's a year or two older.
I guess Im just confused about the difference between this and their Zenbook 14 Oled now? They both can have the same screens, and you can actually get the vivobook with the Core Ultra 9 which is higher than the Core Ultra 7 offered in the Zenbook. So how is this their "entry level" and the Zenbook their "flagship"?
Haha gotcha. This week im on time sir. Fr today was a hectic day for me, thankyou andres for making it a lot relaxing. Actually I've actually used a vivobook 14 and it is a lot similar. The only problem I faced was the battery life and overheating. Working on it on my lap was scary cuz of the amount of heat put out while im editing something a bit big was kinda bad for my boys. But for the price it was the best in the market even now I guess. See you in next weeks video ❤
