Honestly the very first Silent Hill videogame I've ever encountered. Back then, this was the ultimate horror rail-shooter that ruled the arcade - nobody was able to beat it. Even House of the Dead was child's play compared to this nightmare (that is, until House of the Dead 4 came along) Now, after playing some Silent Hill games, it feels like coming home, watching this vid.
Unpopular opinion: This is a fun little spin off. It may not be a perfect representation of silent hill, but I've always enjoyed arcade shooters and gross monsters.
I kinda love Tuberculosis the giant dragon monster, cos it’s a rare appearance of a fairly GOOD monster. Its purpose is to protect Emilie from the other monsters and it does its job well. Unfortunately also sees humans as enemies
martin b i think the reason why they put pyramid head in it is cause they ran out of ideas for bosses they couldnt have put the missionary or god in this due to them not having many attack moves all the missionary was his spike sticks and god had fire and an arm swing
Tuberculosis is a cool monster design, but it feels out of place in Silent Hill. It feels more like an SCP sort of thing. It's too toothy and muscular to feel eerie. It's frightening in a predatory sort of way, not an uncanny sort of way. The most effectively Silent Hillish monsters are uncanny and burnt and/or a Dali-esque sort of surreal and sickly. They tend to move in a labored manner. Tuberculosis seems healthy despite its bandages.
I was thinking that too. the design might work in a silent hill game if reduce its size, slow down its animations and get of the standard resident evil hernia weak-spot. also it is supposed to represent a lung disease and like all good silent hill monsters it should be suffering because of it so the flying could have be limited to short desperate bursts between plummeting down and gasping helplessly for air.
The ONE boss in this game that chills my bones the most is that giant marionette Doll. The way that it lurches back while it approaches you, the ways that it flinches and twitches as it attacks and pins you, and it twists it's torso? Everything about that boss reminds me of that Doll creature from Homecoming (which was one of that game's best bosses, IMO), and I feel it does belong in Silent Hill's creature catalog, and fits it's aesthetic. Dolls are the definition of the uncanny valley. Tuberculosis is frightening, but looks like he'd fit more in Dark Souls. And for a monster that represents a slow but deadly disease, the Lying Figures from Silent Hill 2 do a FAR more superior job at capturing illness and disease, from how sickly vomit brown it is, to it's acidic spray, to how much it twitches and sways, even on the ground, its arms trapped to show pitiful and imprisoned it is - just like how Mary felt, just like how real diseases make you feel inside your own body.
Or more like silent hill fans are walking sheep's. I seen them praising this sht lol just because even more hilarious this is inspired by the movie with the bugs pyramid has let alone his jack here. Helmet not the same though.
I mean let's be honest for a second, are you telling me that if you saw a buff dude with with a giant knife you wouldn't say something like "Dang! Dang it! Go away!"?
I'd be like "Looks you're all ready for the big barbecue party tonight! You even brought a smoker! Might wanna take your head out before you start cooking in it."
I remember HATING the guns you used for this cabinet. Heavy and weirdly rubberized, and a bit small near the trigger so it was hard to do rapid fire by flicking the trigger with my other hand.
Boss 1: a hideous monster who yearns a friend. - pyramid head Boss 2: a animal guardian who wants protecting the animal kingdom. - tuberculosis Boss 3: a predator robeast who is a scary and hideous ugly monster. - split worm Boss 4: a galra king who wants playing dolls with a friend. - mama Boss 5: a evil murderer who caused the rampage. - pyramid head (round 2) Final boss: let's finish this battle with lotor lider and maahox. - phantom
this is just two guesses, but I think it has to do with the B-rated horror movie atmospheric feel and/or the budget in making these arcade rail shooters.
The game is pretty good but the vouce acting.... Also this is like house of the dead 2 but has better voice acting If you compare goldman's voice to the other characters from this arcade game pretty dure it will either be even or not
@@morbius4296 Silent Hill usually have pretty bad voice acting,in 2 only Angela and JAmes have good voice actors,but here the thing,the bad voice acting in the rest of the cast help with the dread of the game
The dialog could have been a little better in the game. I mean your in silent hill and you say darn it instead of damn it. That aside the game is pretty cool looking with a story I gotta look up on. If there is one
Im a fan of house of the dead franchise and the voice acting of sequel hotd 2 is more funnier than you think especially when goldman (the one who created something to end human race just like what curien did) speaks

I disagree, a giant corpse-like monster that's been molded forcibly into the shape of a dragon and is coughing up blood sounds very silent hill to me.
