Came out looking okay. In the future though, use that blue tape over the eye cutout section of his mask, and a bit to cover his Cobra emblem. Then the Salon 40 won't turn the flesh on his face area white, and the cobra won't turn as orange. You'll get the same great results, but without the additional fading of colors.
This figure does seem to yellow really easily. Have you considered using casting rubber with cheesecloth reinforcement as a masking material ? Masking tape can leak too easily and the liquid rubber gives an excellent seal. You just have to use RTV rubber .
Well done! There is a HUGE internet myth that any part that has been de-yellowed this way will become brittle and re-yellow shortly. I have parts that I used this process on nearly 20 years ago. Guess what? They never re-yellowed or became brittle. The parts are from the mego toy line The Micronauts. They are older than GI Joes.
I fixed it. This was 1 of like 10 they had. I pieced it together from parts they had laying just to whiten it. They only sell minty ones on showroom. This one would never qualify to be sold by them.

I believe it's because it was one of most played with figures. Oil from hands and being outside in uv def takes it toll on it.

My battleforce 2000 vector plane re-yellowed again after less than a year.
