    So could you say you want zero “toe” in your 4-link?

      @@joaquinsolis7071if you properly install the 4 link, your vehicle axle will be adjusted to replace n straight down the road. If you're installing on a 1955-59 Chevy truck; purchase the kit from JW Garage in Wisconsin. Otherwise any universal kit will work.

    when you say perfectly level, it won't be once a bed is put back on. I know you have adjustment in the set up, so can this lack of weight be adjusted out once the bed is put back on?

    • @chrismeyer6196
      @chrismeyer6196 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are exactly right. With the 4 link suspension you are able to lengthen the arms or shortly arms. After the weight is on their all adjustments can be made to fit your exact weight. But what we describe is a great starting point.

    Curious, looks like when you first welded the panhard bar bracket to the axle, you had the orientation wrong, then later in the video it's corrected, was that a fopar? I couldn't see how it was going to work with the original way you had it, great video though, very informative cheers

      We did have to change the mounting point on the axle. It would have worked at the point we originally had it mounted, but it wasn’t perfect.

      @@chrismeyer6256 The initial drivers side panhard pivot would not have worked at all with the rotation about the vertical axis. If it hadn't been changed it to rotate around the horizontal axis would have not allowed the panhard to rotate at all . The result would have sheared off the mount bolt or more likely torn the tubing right at the weld. Good that the error was caught and corrected before final welding.

    Will the weight of the bed not change the level of the top bar?

      No, they can wind up the spring adjusters to raise or lower it.

      Parallel with the transmission. Depends how engine and trans sit in the frame.

    Hi, Chris thanks for the videos. We are working on a similar situation but with a chevy frame. in looking at your 4 link kit I cannot find a one with what looks like the same rear mounting brackets as you have. Yours looks more square once you cut off the shock bracket, other kits look tapered. Can you let me know what did you used or what company you ordered from? Looks like a universal kit for many vehicles

    I bought a kit from chassis works way back in the day. When i got the kit. I kicked myself because i could have built it for way less then buying the kit.

      Sometimes a kit is best for some that can't build it. They are pretty simple.

    Question do u have to remove the body to 4 link a car

    • @chrismeyer6196
      @chrismeyer6196 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Technically..... No.
      There are several advantages to remove the body. You really need to watch your ride height. It will be very difficult to get clean complete welds in some situations. A great, complete weld is extremely important for safety.
