This is one of my favorite videos.
So many tips. Simplicity at its best.
A poncho, a pad, a fire, and fishing.
This video is the heart of what you do. Your pure love of the outdoors comes through.
I could see your joy as you woke up and didn't have some sergeant or Gunny barking at you, or some privates to wake up and get going.
    Just you and the woods.
    Awesome.

My own first solo campsite as a veteran Marine after honorable discharge was back in 1978 in the Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 8,500 feet at a mountain plateau with a natural spring for water and a wild quail that I had shot with my Colt Woodsman 22LR pistol earlier that day. I was about to start grad school after a 4 year your of duty with Uncle Sam"s M.C. It was an idyllic experience which I will always remember and cherish like you do as well.

Every time I see you with a Corporal McMuffin, it makes me want one, hoorah! I gotta do me a video like that. Maybe the season. I'm looking into buying me a lot in the woods, so I can do overnighters too. To do that here in NH, you gotta go north to the White mountains national forest, a couple hours from me. But I got my eye on something only twenty minutes away. A 1.3 acre lot in the middle of basically nowhere. Great for camping/bush-crafting. It'll be like having my own sandbox, lol. Wish me luck.

Just a side note.....I bring the cone style coffee filters to run my boiled water thru.....because I've had to use some fairly nasty looking water before and it will filter out the cheweys if you make cowboy coffee....
There weight is next to nothing, they are paper so you can soak them in cooking grease to start your next fire...
The coyote, bear, wolf statement made me laugh. All three will stay away from the fire if it is kept going.....If your in a area with brown bears and wolverines....you better bring your printing tool!
    Best Wishes Corp. K!

Consider getting yourself some pruning sheers 2.5" I use the Fiskars PowerGear2 from Home depot. They're lightweight and awesome for cutting limbs to burn. I see so many people consume calories like crazy by using saws. You can cut dead branches to burn in seconds vs calorie consuming minutes. I take mine everywhere I need a fire! You won't regret it.

When the Corporal goes to war, he does not kill his enemies. He feeds them and subjugates them. At least those who die of overeating do so with a smile!

XCIXGAMING really? Go dude, you will never regret it. I just turned 62 & I’m a grandma. I get out any chance I get, just me & my doggie. I call it church... my GOD = Great Out Doors. My hubby never been camping or fishing & has no desire but doesn’t mind if I go.... he’s gonna love me big time when I save his arse in a SHTF situation.

I’m so happy for you. I’m a mental health professional and going “bush” what they call it in NZ is the way I keep my sanity. Once we get down to level 2 of Corona BS, I’m going out again. We’re approaching winter here but I gotta go. Just wanna add one thing... don’t get discouraged when first starting out. It is harder than it looks when you first start out but practice makes perfect and soon it will be easy as and you’ll end up like me...dreaming of your next adventure as soon as you get home from the last.

Would you do like a “quick tip” how to clean the pathfinder skillet and season it? I tried Dave’s way and I am still having food stick to it :/

Semper Fi brother! Vietnam 67-68... THOROUGHLY enjoy every one of your videos! Love your presentation...reminds me of the Corps! I have learned so much from your instruction. I’m 73 & can’t get out there like I used to, but I tell my wife when I’m watching....I live here. I have filled a few notebooks with drawings, suggestions & recipes. I’m in Texas & look forward to getting into the woods. Thanks again for sharing your expertise. I plug in almost every day, sometimes more than once. Gung ho!
