- In this fun entertaining video, Mick Hill tries to break and clear on an English pool table (7ft x 4ft) with American 8 ball pool balls. The balls are a lot larger (2 1/4") than the English equivalent (2") and therefore the pockets are a lot tighter!

Yeah this Mick Hill fully deserves the envious accolade of being the most prestigious and best UK English 8 ball player ever imho. Seen him play all over the world New Zealand America Europe China you name it. He always has that ownership of the table swagger without being arrogant or conceited. A true billiards gentlemen who has just a little bit more pool genius in him than us all.
I'd be crying if i cannoned the black onto the cushion. Just shows the confidence you have that you didnt even mention it 😂
Watching this live was incredible. Nicely done Mick!
Thank you for having us. It was a pleasure
Stop it! That was an awesome clearance 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I'm in the US and Snooker and English 8ball tables are rare. I'm lucky enough to live near 2 clubs that have 10 foot snooker tables and we do play 8 ball on them with American balls.
Both tables have pockets that measure a bit larger than 3 5/8 inches.
I love the rounded corners on English tables. It forces a precision that American pockets do not, sadly.
9 ball here is rare as well . Well the good looking one you guys and ladys have . As would like to try that some day 👍
Where in the US are you? I wanna play some snooker
5 off 15 to develop 7 was class
Well played. I sometimes warm up with the bigger balls. Improves my concentration and accuracy.
Mick that was class a fantastic clearance and lovely finish on the 8 . Shows what an amazing player you are.
Thanks 👍
Had same idea, have not yet been to Week's to give it ago. We are very similar in thoughts. I have a much lower skill level. Thanks I appreciate all you do. Mich
Week's is replaced with QMasters Brisbane.
Well done, Mick. Lovely clearance. Have a nice Christmas 🎄
Thanks, you too!
Amazing!👍👍💪
Thank you!
Class act! Merry Xmas🎅
Merry Xmas! 🎅
That was a lovely clearance
Thank you.
do the larger/heavier american balls throw more than pro-cups? do you need to compensate for throw?
These combination shots to free balls is something I find hard to remember is an option, It's slowly getting in to the repertoire but after years of not playing though's shots I still miss the opportunity. I know it's vital to take these as it makes the difference between clearing and not. In my local pool league (ex Jason Twist territory 😢😢) hardly anyone would play the combination to free balls so it was never demonstrated as an option. Of course Jason would but we just thought of him as a pool god .
There weren't any combination shots here though
@@nakkaduyou knew what he meant
@@dnbmania thank you, didn't know exactly what is was called. 👍
@@Ben-Dixey It's a cannon when the white goes into another ball, combination shot is when you pot your opponents ball on the same shot as your ball.
@@nakkadu The shots I was referring to was when he potted his object ball off another colour. Is that still called a cannon? Or is that called a plant ?
There's 100% something wrong with Mr Hill, that's not normal 😂
I’ll take that as a compliment 😂
@@mickthemachinehill aye it was meant as one 🤣
Merry Christmas Mick
You too
I’ve only got 6 cues in my house.
how many inches are the pocket jaws? nice table BTW
Sorry, didn’t measure them.
how is the Chinese pool going ? Have you ever played American pool before 9 ball or 8 ball it would be interesting to see you with a carbon cue and a glove XD
Tried this on my table once. After the fist ball went down I realised that it had got stuck. Had to take the whole top of the table off to get it out. Not doing that again in a hurry 😂
😂
How many takes 😂 merry Xmas
Only one attempt.
How many times did you try that before you got it eh?
That was first and only attempt.
@@mickthemachinehill Never doubted it mate :)
