I added some 3M automotive grade double sided tape on my clips. I lost BOTH sides between the front bumper and the front wheel, and I installed the replacements with double sided tape. They never fell off as long as I owned my Cutlass.

In search of a 86 cutlass supreme front passanger chrome piece, exactly like you showed.
Great advice and video, just one comment is that those lower body moldings are not "chrome" plated, they're polished "Stainless Steel" to my knowledge. The wheel opening moldings are SS as well, which is nice for two reasons, you can usually find them used in excellent shape (no rust, tho sometimes with minor dings/dents), and they polish to a "chrome" like shine very easily with some polish and elbow grease. Wish all the upper body moldings were stainless (like older cars) instead of the crappy anodized aluminum that pits, oxidizes and looks all chalky over time.

Looking for a link to the video on how to remove and install the new clips and replace the chrome. I'll double check my book as it might be in there as well, but videos are so much more informative sometimes as we get to see it done.
I don't have a video on removing and installing clips. I am sure you have it handled by now but the clips snap onto studs on the body.
i always grab those plastic "squid" clips when i see em in good shape at the junkyard

Are the trim parts actually “chrome” plated or polished and clear coated? Can they be wet sanded and rouged/buffed?
Trying to install a rear lower window molding I replaced the clips 1985 Oldsmobile cutlass 442
Trailering them and wind hitting it in the front portion n breaks clips n flies off going down the road

I wish I saw this video 2 years ago. Yep I'm missing chrome pieces one of them fell off when we went to Walmart and we picked it up on the way back. It's dented. I'm still missing 1 piece for sure

Need to make sure you have power and the visor is grounded to the body. Its just a switch when you open the mirror and the switch might be bad.
I have a 86 regal and want to put chrome rocker panels on the front fenders and the back. It has the original ones in the middle. Do you think the panels of a cutlass would fit the front fenders and the back of a regal???

GM 14005390 is the part number for the one on the doors. I found them for 13 bucks per 4 clips...my mc ls needs 7 or 8 per door...i think I found the ones for the front fender also.

How do you remove the window chrome that is beside the side mirrors? On the 84 cutlass supreme 2 door.
Have to pull the door panel off and remove the bottom window stopper. The glass then drops below the molding to access the phillips screws.
or let me know when you come across a set of this chromes

How to put new clips on
Do you have any of the front (wheel to bumper) chrome trim pieces in stock? Or the top of the fender chrome for driver side?
I sold both of those items off this car already. They are always the first chrome pieces to get sold off.

strip that car to the bone.. like a chicken carcass.. selll everything and hoard the rest ... your barn can have things hanging from the rafters
