I just received my GTR Lighting kit in the mail today! I ordered the Ultra 2 kit for the low beams, and the Mini LED’s for the high beam and the Mini LED’s for the fog lights in my 2011 Silverado. I just finished installing them and overall it took me approximately 1 1/2 hours to complete. I had to adjust one of the high beams but everything else was already in the correct position. The quality of the GTR product is great and they have a very snug fit. I wasn’t able to get the factory wiring connector to clip entirely on the fog lights. I even pulled a muscle in my arm trying to get it to snap in place but that was a no go. That’s the only real discrepancy I have with lights. Removing the stick air box wasn’t very difficult either but overall, I am very happy with the brightness of the lights and look forward to convert the rest of my truck to LED lights from GTR!
thanks man,, im starting to customize my silverado now that im learning how to drive! i have a 2013 model which is perfect to this video. One love brotha
I'm in Virginia. My 07 suburban just failed inspection because I replaced my oem HID bulbs with LED bulbs. They said the factory light housing is "ONLY" DOT rated for HID bulbs. NOT LED's !! Just FYI !!
A lot of LED BULB ARE extremely bright but only bright to the eyes not the road, if you're the driver driving at night during rain you see nothing on the road, anything above 4300k is bad on the road, I used HID 4300k is much better than anything
This is one of the few vehicles that will still require a resistor for the turn signals, but you can use a switchback bulb! Bulb: headlightrevolution.com/gtr-lighting-armor-series-3156-3157-led-bulbs/ Resistor: headlightrevolution.com/gtr-lighting-50-watt-6-ohm-gold-style-resistors-for-custom-installation/
@@HeadlightRevolution The other option since the battery is heavy and kinda hard to lift out, with a little more wrenching you can remove the headlight bucket which is what 3 or 4 bolts?
Oh ok, that makes sense! I am not sure how many bolts there were as I didn't do that install, but this is great help for others with the HD trucks! Thanks for commenting!🙏
I just put a new.low beam on my Chevy and the new connector did not for the life of me want to rotate all the way down like the last one. Will that mess it up. ?
Which connector are you referring to, the OEM wiring connector? The connector shouldn't be an issue as long as the bulb is clocked correctly and snuggly installed.
For the offroad headlight LEDs, you will want to get them from the website, and I have linked them for you here: headlightrevolution.com/2007-2013-chevy-silverado-led-s-v-4-h11/ For the fog lights, the only option that we will have for you will be the Morimoto XB LED fog lights, and I have linked those for you here: headlightrevolution.com/morimoto-xb-chevrolet-2007-2017-square-led-fog-lights/ If you have any other questions, let me know! Is the 2009 silverado base headlights projector or reflector? I'm looking to create the best possible lighting source, and I'm not sure if I need to replace the fixture itself, or just install led bulbs.
I'm glad to hear you like the bulbs! The build quality does seem to be slightly better with the S-V.4's, but we rarely see any quality issues with the Ultra 2's, plus it's hard to beat that lifetime warranty! Thanks for watching!
I’m surprised you guys haven’t done a best headlights for 99-06 Chevy Silverado. I just bought the gtr ultra 2 fell in love with how bright they are but they’re too long so I’m going to try the csp mini
Interesting since theyre called cat eye chevys. Im torn between bulb upgrades or complete housing upgrades. Mine have had their day. Someone drove my stock truck and said "are your lights on" :/
Are led headlights any good in winter driving? Snow fall glare, produce enough heat to keep snow & ice build up. I live in Canada & winter can be harsh. Bin on the fence about switching to leds 2010 Sierra. Any good 5202 amber bulbs for the fog light
Some of our LEDs will melt the snow, but not all of them. I would say that if you are worried about snow and the cold in your area, you might want to go with a set of the HIDs. I have linked all the products we carry for your vehicle below, let us know if you have any other questions! Link: www.headlightrevolution.com/buyer-guide-by-vehicle/2010+GMC+Sierra_1500
GTR and your website is confusing as heck. GTR has a H11 low beam and H11 DRL whats the difference, the description is the same? Do the low beam version work with DRL? What the difference between the Low Beam version and the DRL version?
This video would not apply to that Sierra, they have different headlights unfortunately. I am sorry to say that we do not have a video for that specific vehicle, wish we could be of more help here! Let us know if you have any other questions!
Not sure if we have tested that specific bulb, but if you want to see how some other JDM Astar bulbs stack up, check out this video: th-cam.com/video/LT-s4Eg7cyw/w-d-xo.html
How long do usually lights take to ship? Is there a delay on shipping right now for certain bulbs? @headlightrevolution ? Since my order is still awaiting shipping
Have you guys tested the DDM saber proX? They claim 12000 lumens. I’ve gotten years of solid use from their HID kits. Curious on their LEDs?!?! Have same body style Silverado so would like to know how they work in it
We havent used that bulb, so I am not able to speak on that. Let us know what year and model Silverado you have, and I would be happy to link you to the products that we carry for your vehicle!
@@HeadlightRevolution I think you should review them, they are rated 2nd in bulbfacts.com, like I mentioned before I have the same body style Silverado in the video. Great video thanks for making it. A couple of questions for you. Why didn't you test the Diode Dynamics bulbs? Also would there have been more high beam bulb options if you would have removed the headlight housing like other videos do?
I am curious too. Been looking through videos trying to find information on what LED bulb would be best to use. I have used HIDs in the past but I am tired of dealing with ballasts.
Why do you guys always compare leds to the cheapest halogen bulb type? I'm pretty sure if you guys use something like the sylvania silvestar ultra it would be a lot more than just 200 lux, regardless if its stock or not, silvestar ultra would be a better match for leds
We want to show you guys how these LED bulbs compare to what you already have in your truck from the factory. Most of the people who shop with us haven’t yet upgraded their lights and want to see a before and after comparison with what they already have.
I’m sure that the Sylvania Silverstar halogen bulbs, which are 1345 lumens, are not that much brighter than the OEM stock halogen bulbs. LED bulbs are the way to go, especially if you have headlight mid smoke tint on your headlights like I do on my 2010 Silverado. I’m going with a 3800 lumen LED bulb from my Sylvania Silverstar halogen bulbs
Silverstars are a joke, same brightness as a stock bulb for me, and they don’t last long (8 months at most) I ran through 2 sets of silveratars in my 2012 before getting the SV4 bulbs and I’m much happier to not have to keep replacing halogens and I can actually see at night.
Drew w yes, they are the same brightness with double the heat from them, which is not good. In my opinion, why spend the extra money for the Silverstar Sylvania? Not good quality. I would stay with OEM Halogen or upgrade to LED bulbs

Its called an LED driver! Usually comes standard on most LEDs.

They are clocked properly right out of the box for 90% of vehicles. Occasionally you’ll have to adjust them but It’s rare.
