Here we take a closer look at the HX Outdoors Mercenary’s Axe, and look at it in terms of value in comparison to other Survival Hatchet/Axes currently in the market.
At $80 with it’s higher quality steel of 440C and G10 handle scales it certainly feels more of premium tool in comparison to other similar tools in its category.
The Oknife Otacle A1 and HX Outdoor Survival Axe are made in 5cr15mov and are priced almost the same
I do believe that at $80 you could get yourself a nice American Made Axe from Council Tool or are pretty close to more premiun hand forged european axes.
Granted this is if you wanted an axe for bushcraft or camp tasks.
This tool is a good all around Jack of all trades that is adequate but does not excel in performing any particular task.
For those looking to have a similar designed took the Zenhosit Camping Axe (with the included knife) at $30 offers much better value.
