I'll have a five month long term review coming very soon, it'll only be a short video, but I thought some of you might like to know how I'm getting on.

So today, we have the second video on the brand new Digital Cluster from ACARNAVI....

In this video I'll give you my thoughts on it over the last few weeks of use and an update for the cluster.

These update files are from ACARNAVI and may not work on a cluster from another manufacturer!!
This one is new to their range of BMW Digital clusters and has been specifically designed for the E89. It's an all-in-one cluster, so you don't have to buy expensive add-on themes to apply to it. To the best of my knowledge, this will work on all models of the E89 from 2009 to 2016, as I'm not aware of any changes to the OE cluster through the years.

Upgrade - 0181 (Automatic or Manual transmission) & 4321 (Cruise Control)

What values should I put for MainTank and Subtank in a BMW X1 F48 with this cluster?
@Tecnan if the cluster was bought specifically for the F48, then it should come already set up! Other than that, it would be best to contact the supplier and ask them.

@@BMWZ4Mods Hi Dave, I received and succesfully installed also my cluster. Question: My version looks newer so i'm unsure if i should install both of your updates. I got APP Version: Launcher@20230420 r19228 and Plug-In Version: EventHub@20230416 r19154 - Would you be so kind as to give me the version after the update? And could you pls describe how the reset button in the top of the cover works or for what is it needed? Thank you.🙏

That's what the latest firmware from the supplier I got mine from, other suppliers may have different/incompatible software/firmware so this information is guaranteed to be correct for this supplied cluster.

The Update #1 brings the APP up to version "r19917", the second activates the logo and the car image. Renamed it before to just "dashboard". Perfect! Now it looks great!

Well now i still have to check the remaining range. Tank settings are at 26 and 24, but the displayed remaining range seems a bit too high to me. (Z4 E89 2012 - same like yours - maybe i have to set up to Z4 F10?)
I made one change to the USB cable: A little lower, above the ODB2 connector, there is a cap. There I led out the USB cable. So I can always get at it without removing the side panel every time. 😉
@olafthier7637 excellent, glad it's all working OK.
As for the fuel tank, those settings are from the seller direct, and actually should be set from the factory.
I honestly do not expect an update regularly, but I'll try my best to report any that I'm aware of.
Thank you so much for this update. I have been anticipating it since your Part 1 video. I also have an E89 (2016) and researching if I should get the Digital cluster. One question: have you tested if it picks up any error alerts: i.e: Tail light bulb being out, or anything similar, just to see it it recognizes the issue? Thanks for the video.
Yes it brings up faults just like the original cluster does, but in word format and not just a pictogram .

Excellent video and information as always. Do you have a date for the folding mirror video release?
@@adrianharris5481 Alas no date at the moment. All video/installation work was done last September, but I need to formulate that into an edit and then voice over. The problem is that I did six retrofits at the same time, so it's a case of prioritising which one to do next.
@@BMWZ4Mods I would also be interested in updating to folding mirrors. Any guidance you can give at this stage as I dont think mine are able to auto fold without fitting new mirrors?

Great follow up Dave. I’ve tried the links & dashboard updated but could not get dashboard 1 file to update? Car doesn’t see it.
I was told not to alter it, I tried it and it didn't work, then I altered it (took out the (1) ), tried it again and it didn't work. So I put the (1) back in and it worked! 🤔

@@BMWZ4Mods ok so i needed to take out the number 1 from the second folder (dashboard 1 ) then my car would read it. All upgraded fine & my cluster is made by VIKNAV, so the update works on other brands 👍

Hello and firstly thanks for the advice on retrofitting a cruise control into my E89.
I saw in your car what looks like the E85 wind deflector installed in this video, was it a direct click in install as getting a used correct E89 deflector is extortionate so It seems the E85 one is more readily available, keep up the good work, kind regards👍
My wind deflector is definitely an E89 one, factory option.

enjoyed the video and miss my z4 lol have you any idea where to get the update files for the x6 e71 ? I had this in my z4 but now have x6 and bought the cluster but cannot find any update files
You need to contact you cluster supplier, as there may be differences between different supplier cluster soft/firmware.
Are these your update files (from dropbox) changes RPM from 8k to 6k? Maybe you can tell me how to get the rpm for diesels?
As stated these files are from my supplier for the cluster I fitted. They 'may' work with other suppliers for the E89 digital cluster.
As for dirsels, as they don't make a diesel E89, then you'll need to ask the original supplier. The reason is that each supplier may have their own firmware, is so then someone else's firmware may create issues.
Also curious if you able to get the e89 car image.
Just installed this in my e89, did you not find the new tick for indicators annoying? Tech support says can’t be disabled.
Yeah it is a totally different noise, no idea as to why they didn't make it sound the same. You do get used to it though.
It told me that the upgrade failed

Some details please, What car? Is yours an E89 Z4? Where did you get the update from? My link? If it's an E89 how long have you had the unit and what software version do you have? Did you buy your unit from Acarmultimedia (as link above)?

You'll need to contact your original supplier for them to give you a specific update for the relevant software that they have used on your cluster.

Hi, I have a BMW f20 118I with the same digital dashboard and I try to update with your files because I have error with the gasoline levels and the logo when turn on, but now the dashboards screen is more small, can you help me telling me where you find the files for my model?
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues. The files linked here are only for the E89 digital cluster as supplied by Acar. They were supplied directly to me by the company.
You'll need to contact your original supplier to see if they can help you.
After uploading your software version I can't upload any other why??
@@arkadiuszstach8049 so you've used the software update that I've linked, and you've got an E89, and you've bought your cluster from Acarmultimedia.com? Is that all correct? If so, did you check the software level you previously had?
Hello, i have a z4 sdrive35i, i bought the same cluster, but i try to do launch control and I couldn't activate it, have you tried it or do you know if I have to configure something? thanks my friend 👌
Good morning, alas, as I have a manual then I don't have launch control, so I don't know. I would suggest contacting your supplier and asking them.

How do you guys set up the gasoline level on the cluster it appear like tank 1 and tank 2 but we have 1 tank in the car
@canmuhurdaroglu if you check out my install video (link in description above) I show it with the settings for the E89, any other BMW models then you'll have to contact your original supplier.

@nguyenkhoi3894 you'll have to contact your supplier for that. The chances are, though, that if it's supplied for a specific model, then it should come already set up 👍

This update file is for units that were supplied from Acarnavi. Asmy car is the E89 I can't say whether irll work on their E9x series cluster or not.

As stated in the original video, main tank = 26 and sub tank = 24 and that is at 27:15 on that video 👍
@BMWZ4Mods thank you for your help was only asking because where i got mine they said the main tank was 38 and sub was 12 and the gauge was just keep moving i will try the same set up as you because my e82 1 series has the same size tank and many thanks for getting back to me
Hi, you mentioned in one of the earlier videos ref this cluster the you didn't know about fitting to E93's. I will be fitting the same cluster to my E93 335i DCT this weekend. I have update 2 ready to go on when fitted. It has already been in once and powered on but there was a problem with plastic cowling so had to revert. would like to understand how the fuel tank numbers correlate, E93's have a 61ltr tank, so what do the main and auxiliary sizes refer to? thanks
I'd suggest contacting your supplier to confirm, but I believe it's Main tank = 28 ltrs and Sub tank = 35 ltrs 👍

I have speed warning turned off & still chimes at 77mph. Anyone have a fix?
In the original set-up video for this I set it to 108mph and left it at OFF and never heard from it again!
@@BMWZ4Mods it won't let me change it - weird. I have the system set to Imperial, but speed warning is still metric - maybe a glitch.
It's not a deal breaker tho lol.

i can imagine it will be a pain to see the gauges with the top down under sunny days
I've got to admit that it wasn't all that bad at all. Only issue was a couple of days when the sun was directly behind me and at the right angle. Other than that it was fine.
@bmwz4mods This is my 3rd mod following your excellent videos, but it never goes smooth for me. I eventually have gotten everything sorted out, but this time I starting to wonder if I received a faulty unit. Air temperature shows about 10 degrees off, open door indicator shows I open the left door when I open the right and vice versa. But the real trouble is that the fuel gauge is not working at all. It is stuck at 100% full and always show the same range left (give or take a few km). No matter what values I put in the tank size make the gauge “come unstuck”. I have not read anyone else have this problem. Everything else seems to work perfect. Should I send it back?
If tge fuel gauge is not working then yes I'd say it's faulty, assuming your original one was working OK! Same goes for the temp, should be spot-on, again assuming it was OK before.
@@BMWZ4Mods If only Acar was as responsive as you. Almost impossible to get a word out of them… Anyway, everything was working just fine before. Only thing I can think about is the software update. Is it possible to reset it back to stock? I upgraded it with the files you linked to, but it went blazing fast so maybe worth a try? Love your channel. Really appreciate the good work you put in.
@njaleide6725 there is a reset button in the cowl. It's accessed via a very small hole that can be seen if you look towards the clocks and then upwards.

I've not yet tried that button, but it's worth a try. I would advise taking a note of your service info and mileage first though
@@BMWZ4ModsTried the reset button just now. Seems like it only did a hardware reboot. Software stays the same. I did previously receive a file from Acar called dashboard(3).zip. It is not the same as any of the files you linked too. I have not installed it as I am not sure if it conflicts with my previous upgrades. So far my questions about it remains unanswered, so not sure if I risk bricking my unit by installing it.
@njaleide6725 If Acar has supplied you an update file, and it's an original Acar supplied unit, then it should be absolutely fine 👍
Hi, is there any way to reset the settings from scratch as I’m getting wrong tank level/kilometers. I’ve brand new BMW X2 (F39). Thanks
For the E89 version, I'd assume there is on.other models, on the underside of the plastic cowl, there is a very small hole, this is the reset switch. I've not yet used it myself, but this should reset the cluster back to factory settings.
I'd suggest taking note of various readings like mileage service intervals, etc, as all of this will probably be reset as well.

@@BMWZ4Mods There is a hole on the right that apparently looks like the reset button. I inserted a tip and held it for several seconds. The display turns off and when released it turns on again and the lights flash. Nothing was reset and the settings remained unchanged :(
@Perroncino in that case you'll need to contact your supplier and ask them.

@RM-nb3xc you DO NOT extract the zip file, the cluster will do that automatically. Just download the file as it is and follow the instructions in the video.

@@RM-nb3xc Well that could be for a number of reasons, firstly is your cluster already up to date? How old is it?
Was your cluster supplied by Acarnavi? Clusters by other suppliers may have different firmware.
hi, the hud is possible for bmw z4 e89?
There are no OEM options for the E89, so it would be aftermarket, but wouldn't connect to this digital cluster.

I wanted to know what parameter should I put for the fuel gauge for my BMW F11 series. and also what setting should I put in the ‘Factory’ tab in the system settings for a BMW 5 Series F11.

@emmanuelgautiez3595 I'm glad it worked for you, but you need to be careful doing this sort of thing, as this video is specifically for the E89 cluster from the company I got it from. Putting the wrong update into someone else's supplied cluster can potentially cause issues.
I can only advise on the E89 setup. Anything outside of that, then you need to contact your supplier for info.

How complettly reset the Cluster because the kilometer Not Right
26:15 in the first video, I tell you how to do it.
Failing that there is the reset button, it's accessible from the underside of the cowling, looking at the clocks from the drivers seat its in the centre looking directly up.

@Supersniper884 The total mileage is taken over by the control unit of the car. you can't reset it. 😉
@olafthier7637 the issue is that sometimes the digital cluster may not show the correct car mileage from initial setup. It can be readjusted to the correct reading, hence why I say to take a photo of the mileage before you start removing the old cluster.
This will not reset the original mileage kept in the CAS.
