If they would just open it back up... It’s literally collapsing and will be back to what it was during the 70s when they’d have regular blackouts and you needed a baseball bat on the J train after 8pm.
Strata Tower will block the iconic views of the empire state building from madison square park and downtown manhattan, plus the design is super ugly and soulless. It's honestly disgraceful to build this directly in front of a world famous landmark. I don't understand how nyc council approves something like this, seems like they don't give a sh*t about the skyline anymore. I really hope covid will cripple the construction boom to the point where some of those ridiculous developments get cancelled.
Nonsense. Moving forward Manhattan has to make room for taller skyscrapers. Enough with the iconic bs. If classics is what we're concerned about then we have no room for progress.
Katjerouac Music don't get me wrong I am not against progress in the city at all, I really like some of those new skyscrapers like the steinway tower or One Vanderbilt. But those buildings are a beautiful addition to the midtown skyline and their designs pay respect to the iconic buildings that existed in the city for a long time. However other developments like the strata tower or tower fifth look like they just don’t belong to the city at all or at least not to the place where they are being built. Not only that but the architectural design of those towers is arguably the worst I have seen in a long time, I wouldn’t like to see them being built in any city in the world tbh
@@Noirissime I completely agree with you! The strata tower just makes New York look worst. The design itself makes fun of the idea that Manhattan is just another bland city building a skyscraper for economic growth. New York has built an iconic look for its skyscrapers and it should be respected.
The Strata building has got to be the biggest example of a lack of context and horrible visual impact approved so far this century, in NYC; it is absolutely alienating to look at, even in renderings. Irrespective of the Empire State Buildings aesthetic, this project looks hideous, and resembles an oversized elevator shaft with glass facades on three protruding sides... Eew.
New York City has the best skyscrapers!
best city on the planet Earth.

I like the strata tower. But they should’ve built it somewhere else. Or at least make it shorter, it sticks out completely.
