Recentlyt subscribed to your channel and love it. I've used locksmiths over the years for adjustments and replacing worn handles but of late they've really increased their prices and I can't afford them so I'll be using your videos as reference guides and DIY'ing where possible. Thanks again.
Hi bought a new security door handle all measurements are correct but when I tried to install the sections that go into the door to screw through are larger than the holes in the door. Can you just drill the holes bigger? It's a UPVC door.
Hi can you help with a question I have? How would one go about replacing a door handle a bit like the one in the video, however there are no visible screws and the door is permanently locked? I guess the locking mechanism inside the barrel of the lock has failed which leaves the door un openable. There doesn't seem to be an obvious way of replacing it without opening the door first to get to the screws and that isn't possible in this situation. Any ideas would be very helpful.
Is it possible to drill the holes to match the screws? I got a new door handle 215mm space between the holes. When I tried fit there's about 2mm of a difference.
Hi, yes you can as I'm guessing you needed 211mm standard handles. Or if you prefer the correct handles have a look...Long Backplate www.double-glazing-parts-spares.co.uk/trojan-sparta-composite-lever-inline-l31546
Hi, looking for some advice. I need to replace a UPVC handle, but the problem is the measurement between the screws is 116mm. I've trawled online and it seems the standard shortest length is 122mm. So I'm guessing I've got some obscure or obsolete handles. What do I need to do? Drill new holes maybe? Any advice would be appreciated, cheers.

Hi, yes you can widen the holes and it won't cause any issues.

why are the euro cylinders sticking out so much, shouldnt they only stick out 3mm? that looks 5mm
They ideally should be flush, on this showroom door we had recently changed the handles over to a different brand
