SDV by Guerlain is such a light wearing scent I don’t think I’ll ever repurchase even though it is truly the most sophisticated, expensive smelling vanilla I’ve ever experienced. I get like maybe 4 hours with it sitting very close to me WITH over spraying. It’s just too expensive for that performance in my opinion.
My favourite vanillas: 1. Babycat 2. Loubirouge 3. Eau Duelle - both the EDT and the EDP, I wear these even in the summer. There is something almost minty in these that works all year.
You have good choices: My picks would be -Angélique Noire -Un Bois Vanille -Black Tie -Loubirouge -Erea Thank you for sharing❤ I have to try Insulo!!!!!
Guess who stupidly missed the pre-order for your new vanilla… kicking myself!! Sold out now as you know… CONGRATULATIONS. We need more stock now. I have my notifications on now, hopefully I can get a decent when the smart people receive their pre-order bottles! 😅❤️
Amazing line - up ❤ I'd add the new Black opium Le Parfum it's amazing dense vanilla and only flanker I own. As well as Orchidee vanille by Van cleef and Arpels . I have a little decant from Escapade Gourmand and trying to convince myself I don't need a bottle but it's really good unfortunately 😂
Black Opium le Parfum is seriously gold!!! I can't believe it's a Black Opium flanker, if it was packaged in a niche fragrance I think it would be a hit. I don't care more for me 😂 I get so many compliments with it and don't even like the other BO's ❤
Bois Doré Van Cleef & Arpels its a stunning, sweet sexy vanilla - tonka bean, tobacco, almond and woods. Great projection, beautiful vanilla icing scent bubble and lasts all day. ❤
I finally got my nose on Angelique Noir and SDV. On Angelique Noir, it’s exactly as you describe it and your disclaimer about the “green-ness” is on point. I also 100% agree with you on SDV, two hours at airport duty free and there’s nothing basic about this scent BUT the performance is not great at alllllll💔💔💔 it wears very soft and it doesnt last long past the 4 hour mark for me.
One that I have tested and that is on my to buy list is mazzolari's vaniglia. It's so expensive but that one lasted on me everyone could smell it. And it's gorgeous. I need to pull out my sample of Bianco latte to test. I have Burberry goddess and it's stunning but the lavender comes out strong on my skin so I have to wait for the vanilla to arrive. I want to try vanilla nera by ledda - it's described as a grown vanilla and it sounds so beautiful.
You might want to try Orchidee Vanille by Van Cleef and Arpels. It’s beautiful but sometimes hard to find. To me it has a similar feel to Angelique Noir. Also Trish McEvoy has a sexy 9 which is the amped blackberry vanilla of their no. 9 which are both very good.
I love Eau Duelle. It was my first niche fragrance and is the scent that got me into fragrances. I don’t reach for it as often anymore due to the size of my collection but sometimes I layer it with Gris Charnel. It’s also my brother’s signature scent. My bottle would always go missing and I’d find it in his room so I bought him a bottle for Christmas a few years back. Angelique Noir is also another favorite vanilla of mine. Vanilla is such a beautiful note that it’s hard to find a quality vanilla that doesn’t smell good.
You already mentioned so many of my favs, 3 of those which are my top favs (Note vanille nectar, lune feline, and silky woods) but a few other ones i have been enjoying is Mercedes Black, PDM Althair, and Nirvana Bourbon
One of my fav vanillas recently that wasn’t listed is Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee. I’m sure you’ve probably smelled it as it’s been around quite a while. It’s really beautiful to me. It’s woody, aromatic and a touch citrusy. It also has this plasticky dolls head quality that I find really addictive, though I haven’t heard other people mention that, so perhaps it’s my skin or nose. You mentioned some of my favorites: Angelique Noire and Absolute Aphrodisiac (which I wore this past weekend and was blown away by all over again). There are several here that I haven’t tried and really need to get my nose on. As a bonus cheapie, I also really love Nemat Vanilla Musk oil. It’s incredibly inexpensive and super versatile and just so good. It gets compared to Tihota which I think is apt. Thanks for another great video. I used to think I didn’t like vanilla, but I was WRONG. Lol.
Oh wow I've got to try that Vanilla Musk oil because Tihota is the queen if vanillas to my nose! Granted, I haven't smelled many other niche versions and I am on a mission to 😆. I'm just so picky when it comes to what else is in there with the vanilla that I avoid some of them due to certain notes (things like incense, oud, Ylang Ylang, coconut, etc.).
Hi Haley, great video! Your detailed descriptions of the note breakdown directs me to shop or not❤❤❤ thank you!!! However I do enjoy vanilla perfumes for layering purposes. Although Kayali vanilla 28 is my favorite.
I have 10 out of your 12 fragrances. My latest favorite out of this list is Bianco Latte. I can’t get enough of it and I’m afraid I’m going to use it up too fast.
My favourite… I adore a Vanilla fragrance. I was on a hunt for the best vanilla fragrance and I ended up finding loads and loving them all! Fire at will, Silky woods and Burberry goddess are some of my faves also ❤
I recently purchased lune feline the original and im letting it macerate before giving it a full wear. I also found Burberry Goddess at the airport just yesterday and purchased it instantly...im so glad I did.
My favourites are Bianco Latte and Escapade Gourmande. I have found out over the years of testing that I dislike spicy, oriental vanillas but love gourmande ones. Unfortunately Accident a la vanille is not it since it is too buttery for my taste. I have purchased Burberry Goddess and Devotion from D&G over the single's day sale because they are delectable vanilla candies with freshness of lavender and lemon. They will be my newest loves when theh arrive. ❤
@@hayley.cloughTo be honest I had bought Escapade Gourmande a year ago when the hype around it was giant but then decluttered it immediately, because I could only smell a juvenile vanilla back then. I have realised that my nose has changed so I tried it again a few weeks ago and the magic happened ; the most beautiful Crème Brûlée with a musky touch. Now I can't live without it!
I would love to try Babycat but I’ve just ordered Bianco Latte based on a sample and just ordered Ledda’s 18 Vanilla Nera! I reaaaaaaally want Burberry Goddess for Christmas from my fiancé so I’m waiting on that one😂
I was excited to try this ☝🏼 but tbh it didn’t have much staying power & was very light..I might aswell of got a bottle of vanilla extract from my kitchen cupboard 🙄 (‘Panda’ is stunning from Zoologist ❤️)
Choosing which Vanilla fragrance to choose for the different season has been a challenge for me.a strong one to cut through the winter cold, and one that's soft in the warmer weather. Your breakdowns are Awsome , and are very Helpful.
I've bought Lolitaland last year at a bargain $45 bucks and i get back to it again this year and has become a beautiful delicious citrusy abit floral vanilla esp its been in my dark closet the last few months, its now a mandarin sweet yummy creamy vanilla ice cream and very very comforting😍 i wear it to bed as well, It is still easily available online but i they kinda increase by a few bucks they must have notice the demand for it
Hufflepuff from HOS is my favorite spring /summer 💖💖💖💝 many ppl call WW from HOS a vanilla scent as well and it is gorgeous as well.... I sampled the new Bosca Vanilla from Guerlain last week and it will absolutely be added , an instant love ❣
I thought the same thing about Goddess. I have smelled 3 times wondering what the fuss was about. I have yet to try on skin, so that was a helpful comment. Not sure how it will compare to my niche vanillas. Accident a la vanille smells like melted butter with vanilla and cinnamon 😋🤤😋🤤
HiHayley, I did not get along with Bianco Latte but I tried Vanilla Haze from Fuggazi and it is so addictive and airy, amazing! It gives me all I hoped Bianco Latte would. Have you tried it?
Between Ani and Ani X I prefer Ani for males and Ani X for women while both in my opinion leans a tad more feminine. Ani to my nose is a bit smoky which is bc of Patchouli I guess, meanwhile Ani X is more rounded bc of the melon. I love both
I love Fire at Will! Also SDV and Goddess. I’m wearing Devotion now, and Chloe Vanilla Planifolia a lot lately also, which is such a feminine green vanilla.
Such an enticing list and thank you for breaking them into different categories!! Angelique Noire has been on my list forever. Your face when you smelt Accident A La Vanille😅😅; I'm def going to sample that one. My favourite vanillas are Material and Fire At Will. I've had Manifesto l'Elixir by YSLfor about 3 years, but I struggle with it as it's so green
Thank you for your video, one of my favourite themes: Vanilla!😍 My favourite vanillaperfume is Lune Féline, I love it more and more each year. Which one is the sweetest, the original or extrait?
I love Burberry Goddess! Do you still enjoy Kayali Vanilla Royale? I remember you really enjoyed it. I do personally but my man doesn't which is a bummer. Same with Mahni Cassonade 😂 I wear them regardless but not on date nights haha
I smelled Silky Woods at Sephora and holy sht I was sooo disappointed about the hype!!! Thank goodness I didn’t blind buy it. I tried to convince myself it wasn’t too bad until my husband said it smelled like an airplane toilet and couldn’t get it out of my mind after that🤢 After revisiting Fragrantica reviews again, I came across the perfect way to describe it - has a bandaid smell with aseptic medicine😢😢 Heard that some ouds come across as medicinal? Not a good first experience smelling oud that’s for sure but I won’t let it deter me off this ingredient. Wish I could love this frag like others.. Hayley, may I kindly request some recommendations for frags with delicious notes of rose, saffron, oud, vanilla, incense/woodiness together? Eastern style or easts meets west. Good longevity and projection is a bonus. Loving the note of saffron in Rosendo No5 and would love to explore this ingredient more. Thank youu and killer video as always!🔥
I thought this at first too but then after a couple of months I tried it again and now i can't get it out of my head. Such a unique, mouth-watering fragrance. You should wait for a bit too long then try it again!
I’m not really a vanilla lover with fragrance but once I found out all the different types of vanillas, I discovered I do love green vanillas 🙂 it’s like there’s a vanilla for everyone! Thanks Hayley 🫶

That sounds super frustrating! Are you sure you're not going anosmic to it?
Same. I’m glad I sampled it because I was tempted to blind buy. I would’ve been disappointed
Thank you for this comment, it is very helpful for us who cannot sample!
That's how I feel about Le Labo Vanille 44 Paris. Way too expensive to be such a skin scent but so beautiful 😍
I found the perfekt dupe for it so its super 😍
Will wear SVD as my SOTD today!
My favourite vanillas:
1. Babycat
2. Loubirouge
3. Eau Duelle - both the EDT and the EDP, I wear these even in the summer. There is something almost minty in these that works all year.
I love your list. One of my favourites is Black Tie from Celine ❤❤❤
Great list. I really enjoy YSL Babycat as a spicy, sexy vanilla fragrance. Works perfectly for the cold Canadian winter
Imperial peacock Alexander j the extract though 👌🏾
Top 3 for me: Angelique Noir, Nishane Ani, YSL manifesto
You have good choices:
My picks would be
-Angélique Noire
-Un Bois Vanille
