- The World Poker Tour (WPT) is a series of international poker tournaments and associated television series broadcasting the final table of each tournament. It was started in the United States by attorney/television producer Steven Lipscomb, who served as CEO of WPT Enterprises (WPTE), the firm that controlled the World Poker Tour up to November 2009. In 2008, the WPT started offering bracelets to its event champions. Players who won a title prior to the release of the WPT Bracelet, were given one retroactively.

The glory days of televised poker, when it was fun to watch. When the WPT didn't chop their coverage into three segments, but aired the whole thing on the Travel channel.
It was an amazing time to be alive and playing poker during the “Poker Boom”!!! Can’t tell you how many times we traveled to casinos just to play in packed out poker rooms and playing in WSOP satellite seats 😭

Was on this 'river boat' . . . anchored on the Mississippi River, in Mississippi ! Flew in from Baltimore, complements of Ceasars Entertainment. Gained this trip thru play at Showboat Casino, Atlantic City. Showboat has since retired. Half of A.C. is controlled by Ceasars (Harrahs, Bally's Ceasars) Ceasars - a large gaming empire - nation wide !
Scotty is very friendly at the table and I like that because most of the Poker tables people are very serious looking

I like TV poker when it was with these familiar poker players Scotty Nguyen and Michael Mizrahi, Gavin and announcers Mike Sexton and Vince. It feels cozy back then, but not the new cold field of nobodies these days.

Yeah Raul Paez didnt really ever have a shot at winning this but he folded his way to AT LEAST an extra 120k by letting gavin smith go out before him. The object of the game is to make lots of money and he probably maximized his value at this final table.

What a weird hand between Mizrachi and Scotty. The floor announcer and Mike Sexton thought Scotty was just calling while the dealer said raise. Even the Grinder thought he said call. Just total confusion all around.

Being half vietnamese doesn't give you insight into another vietnamese person's personality. And you're wrong dude. He's a confident man and he's very outspoken about it but I've seen him act quite humble on a number of occasions. On top of that I follow a lot of the top players and read all the books and magazines and every time Scotty is talked about by his fellow poker pros it's with respect. Assholes like the one you described don't get that much respect no matter how good they are.

The grinder screwed himself up by accidentally showing his hand. He should have taken all of Scottie's chips and won the tourney. Scottie dodged a major bullet.

The dealer made the mistake by announcing call. When Scotty announced raise. It was also the grinders fault for showing his cards. They should have to go by the casino's rule for that action. The grinder got off easy too by not having a penalty for a time out of at least 10 min. That was a huge fiasco once the dealer announced call. No excuses for the grinder showing his cards though. I could understand if he didn't know the rules but even at this point the grinder has been playing the circuit for awhile now and definitely knew the rules so he screwed up big time. Who knows how much Scotty was going to really raise because he just knew he had the winning hand. That was a huge save for Scotty since the grinder showed his cards once the dealer announced call. That's why you should never touch your cards until all the money is in the pot and the play is truly over. I bet the grinder never made that mistake again.

It was the announcer, not the dealer. The dealer corrected her.
That exposed straight hand, Scotty should have been forced to raise.
But with Mizrachi exposing his cards, the tournament director actually did the right thing by asking Nguyen if he just wanted to call that hand (even though he said riased), & Nguyen did not mind calling after what happened with Mizrachi
