Gabe…. don’t retire. We don’t care who you know or don’t know… players come and go but YOU are the reason we watch the show.
He doesn't care either. He clearly just wants to move on.
It's just the nostalgia from back when poker was great/exciting. I give Gabe credit though, throughout the years, I can't tell if he's as dumb as his commentary or if he's trying to "untap" the glass....
Its possible he recently discover he has cancer (maybe prostatic) so he prepare his death.. let him in peace
Yeah I'm kind of surprised by that, Gage is the best poker commentator hands down.
Gabe is the reason why I watch high stakes
Gabe Kaplan will always be my favorite poker announcer. Still meaningful dialogue with his intellect and wit.
I know I'm late to the party but dang made me sad man I love hearing his corny jokes and the history on stuff idk what he's talking about it's like he don't value what he adds to the game. He will be missed

Gabe mixes great humour with knowledge of the game and its players like no one else. He is Mr High Stakes Poker and the show will be less without him. Thanks for all the great memories. Need to go back and watch all the old ones again for something like the 5th time. Never gets boring.

I actually teared up listening to Gabe say he was too old. He is pushing 80. People my age grew up with his voice as the voice of poker
I’m 25, recently started watching poker, not much of a player. Yet I’m still looking for your commentary Gabe. You will be remembered even with the generation difference. Best!

GTO is overrated we’re human beings, everyone trying to spend their time trying to figure out how a machine comes up with its plays and it’s gonna be a while

Gabe makes the show funny. Funny trumps relevant, and makes the show relaxing and valuable entertainment. Priceless.

Feel like they should get Bart Hanson or something to commentate the high roller tournaments at least he doesn’t make me want to fall asleep
Gabe Kaplan is the voice of poker that i grew up with. It's sad to hear he is retiring 😭. Of course I wish him the best and hope he enjoys his time.

HSP and PAD are probably the greatest poker shows ever!! Since the GSN days it still beat everything that PokerStars put together. Those were really fun too, no doubt, but, man, there's something about these shows. The best players, the best banter, and the absolute best commentary. The whole vibe was just always so great. Can't wait to watch more.
Nothing ever got better than High Stakes Poker as a show, because Gabe Kaplan made it so fun.

We lost Mike Sexton and Norm Macdonald too soon. Now we have to say goodbye to Gabe. You taught me about Imhotep and where "poking the Bear" came from. You are a fount of wisdom and knowledge of life and poker. We love you for it. You bring humor and we always need that. You are a mensch in the greatest sense. May all your cards be live and all your pots monsters!

Most entertaining hand in this show’s history was Sammy Farha’s pocket Aces vs. Jaime Gold’s pocket Kings.
I am amazed by Jennifer Tilly never getting better at poker over the span of almost 20 years. Her wealth must know no limits.
I'm sure she plays cause she likes it and probably thrives off the attention like all women do.

There is still a lot of old guys watching Gabe. I can relate to all the old stories. The kids need to hear the poker history, (all the know is GTM), you’re the only place they can get it.

I learned so much about poker reasoning from listening to Gabe Kaplan. Also, contrary to what he imagined, lots of his poker fans know him as a standup comedian then mr kotter and on and on.
Perkins is such a champion a class act and amazing for poker. He's always amazing win lose or draw and his attitude is always the most positive

I'll echo the rest here that Gabe is one of the very best 2-3 commentators of all time, perhaps Mike Sexton is the only guy I can think of that is comparable for intelligence, understanding of the game, people and great sense of comedic wit.
