If you want something else from this era of Metallica, most people will tell you that 'Bleeding Me' and 'The Outlaw Torn' from the 'Load' album are must listens!
I think that goes unsaid and unnoticed most of the time these days. The blues influence. But it wasn't just the load and reload that displayed those blues tendencies although they do shine through quite well as the temps were pulled back. You can find it sprinkled in the 1st three albums and some of these songs if you were to strip out all the distortion and loudness, you'd recognize instantly.
@@SnKKS i love it too. I probably still put the black album above it, but Load is the one I go back to the most, and my favorite to just put on and listen to without skips.
The fact that with the first listen you enjoyed this song means that you are open minded to the diversity of Metallica's music... Keep going Molly! We're here for the ride!...
i love how all the Unforgiven tracks are different but people complain about them as if they are the same , thanks for pointing out that III is also worth listening to :)
Not when there are still tracks from Kill 'Em All and Metallica left. Nope. Also it was kind of weak IMO. First track from that era should be Bleeding Me or The Outlaw Torn IMO.
They literally did it all!!! Keep the METALLICA coming!! You can never wear me out!! And there is some good country music, take it from a country boy!! Hank Williams Jr, " Country Boy Can Survive" play that song!! Basically the story of my life!
I'm told you'll enjoy the Black, Load and Reload albums. People who enjoy good music, enjoy all the catalog Metallica has. The third part of this trilogy is from the Death Magnetic album (2008), my favorite. Enjoy them!!
Awesome!!! now that's you've cracked the seal on "Reload" (and "Load" I guess) better do "Fuel" and "The Memory Remains" at a minimum...and "King Nothing" from Load has the most wicked bass intro
If you want to hear Metallica actually do country, I recommend listening to Mama Said off of this same album. Metallica really branched out a lot in the 90s post-Black Album, and I think you'd really appreciate just how good they sound when they step out of their comfort zone.
Absolutely, one of the most emotional and relatable Metallica songs, and one of my favorites. Not particularly representative of the album that it's on, but i figure you'll get there eventually.'
Yes!!! Doin' all three!!! Thanks for reacting to The Unforgiven II. This song when it came out? Got me through a divorce, I felt so heartbroken. Then my Metallica Boys come out with this? The lyrics "Now I see the sun" after the guitar solo turned it around for me. Embracing being single really for the first time as an adult. This song kept me alive in the late nineties and got strength from it. Metallica have always been there for me for low times and the best times, like now. Life is a gift.
This is one of my very favorite songs. The lyrics are beautifully relatable. You WILL like James' "country" vibes. There's a few more like this one. Keep trucking with it, I promise you'll dig it!
No Leaf Clover Until it Sleeps My Friend of Misery (incredible bass line) 3 favorite Metallica songs and I don't think you've heard any of them yet. Keep it up. This channel has been fun to watch.
Metallica is timeless. I got to see them live around 2008-front fucking row. I’ve been to a lot of concerts, but that was still one of the best shows I’ve ever seen 🤘🏻
Lars explained it in one of the interviews that they'd simply decided to reverse the clean/heavy parts in the 2nd one - so clean verse & heavy chorus. The 1st one was heavy verse & clean chorus.
The timing of this reaction video is incredibly fortuitous…I’ve been binging THIS song, and “Until It Sleeps” for a week and then, completely out of the blue, one of my favourite reactors puts up a video with one of my new favourite songs?!…your timing is impeccable! Also, on a side note, I’m fairly sure this is only the second time I’ve ever commented on a TH-cam video…but I felt overwhelmingly compelled! Thank you, from Australia 🫡☺️
Definitely don't hesitate to react to The Unforgiven III. It's quite a bit different than both I & II, but I think the difference is exactly what the third installment needed. I think you'll like it. Also, don't listen to anyone telling you Metallica after a certain time is no good. Anyone telling you that isn't a Metallica fan, they're just someone who has heard other non fans saying spouting out B.S. saying it's no good just because it's different and they don't get it. Basically there is alot of really good Metallica to listen to in every stage of their career. The album that 'The Unforgiven III' is on called 'Death Magnetic' is is (in my opinion) an amazing album.
This is the first metal song I ever heard, I must’ve been 12-13 years old. It opened up a whole new world to me, and even today it still gives me a very unique feeling when I listen to it. Love it!
METALLICA BLACK ALBUM IS MY FAVORITE BUT MY LATE HUSBAND DID NOT LIKE THE BLACK ALBUM, HE THOUGHT THEY GOT SOFT, I DISAGREE, I LOVE ALL METALLICA ALBUMS BUT I WAS GOING THROUGH ALOT OF DARK STUFF IN MY LIFE AND THE BLACK ALBUM GOT ME THROUGH ESPECIALLY " NOTHING ELSE MATTERS" THAT SONG SAVED ME!! AWESOME REACTION MOLLYBOY 💙 AND THANK YOU WHOMEVER REQUESTED THIS. 😊🩷🤘✌️🔥
I'm 52, and I've heard all Metallica has done. I've heard all this " selling out" crap, but I like what I like and don't care what anyone else has to say. I promise those guys of Metallica are doing the music they want to do and don't care about the haters. They are LEGENDS and have nothing to prove.
This is off Reload btw, so for all the load & reload haters, you stand on sand. LISTEN TO BLEEDING ME off LoaD, the best of the era. This 96ish-99 was James peak howling ability. 86-89 was indeed his finest growling combined with in tune singing, however his ability to howl in this era is his finest moments displayed in perfection in s&m1. James vocal talent has increased constantly even the toll of his growl took much of that ability away he has only honed his ability to manipulate syllables and his voice
I remember buying Reload CD in 1997, listening to that intro for the first time and being blown away. The Unforgiven was my favorite song at the time, I don't think they could have made the sequel any better.
There are great choices from Load and Reload, the most common/popular ones are Until It Sleeps, King Nothing, Fuel, The Memory Remains and this song you just reacted to. IMO there are no bad songs on those albums, just gems.
I can already see he's gonna enjoy Bleeding Me, The Outlaw Torn, Fixxxer, and he's probably gonna enjoy No Leaf Clover also. Has he listened to No Leaf Clover? Gotta go see!
You honestly need to do Breadfan. Back in the day, they released cassette singles for $2.99. It had a “hit” song on side A and an unknown song on side B. Breadfan originally appeared as a side B song. It was the only way you could get it for about a year. To this day, I have no memory of what the side A song was. It was later released on Garage Days album. Breadfan is the band at it strongest and I personally believe it’s within the top 3 songs they’ve ever released.
Breadfan was the B side of the Eye of the Beholder single, and later released on Garage, Inc.. It's a cover of an early 70's song by a band named Budgie. It's a great cover, but I definitely wouldn't go so far as calling it one of Metallica's best songs. It's definitely worth a reaction though, along with what I believe to be, far and away Metallica's best cover, Am I Evil?.
@@danielbeck9310 I just remember buying the single, complaining it was $2.99, lol, and this awesome song on side B. Remember listening to it in the car over and over as loud as it would go. @@lss-jprep4980 yep. It's a great song. You should check out the original. Quite a bit different than Metallica's version. Crash Course In Brain Surgery is another Budgie song Metallica covered on Garage Days Re-Revisited.

Dude I’m so happy you’re getting into the Load stuff. So many guys rip it because it’s not “metal” enough when it’s some of their best shit. Just way more blues based and really the closest they ever came to emulating Sabbath. Try Bleeding Me or Outlaw Torn. Epic as fuck and you’ll probably cry 😂

The Unforgiven is amazing, 2 is brilliant and 3 is beautiful!!!!
My fav line from 3...How can I be lost if I've got nowhere to go. Search for seas of gold, how come it's got so cold!!
Until it sleeps off of load is 🔥
My favourite song. #untilitsleeps
Yea, you need some quotation marks in that sentence. It doesn't flow very well. :)
@Havocme7 I was perplexed by this comment but now I see lol
If you want something else from this era of Metallica, most people will tell you that 'Bleeding Me' and 'The Outlaw Torn' from the 'Load' album are must listens!
Fuck yeah
100%
He's already done bleeding me live , but he needs to listen to studio version too
And Fixxxer
100% and Fixxxer too
As a 52 year old watching you “discover” the greatness of this band just as I did so many years ago is so fun. Thank you
"Bleeding Me" needs to be listened to from this era. That and "The Outlaw Torn" which is a masterpiece. Both are off of the album "Load"
Love them both! Love them both even more on S&M(1)
King nothing, until it sleeps and Hero of the day are three of my favourites. Though I love all the songs from load.
I've been a Metallica fan for 35 years & I love the load & Reload eras , it's a bluesy heavy but is still so god damn good.
