I just got an electric one and I’m excited to use it but my first trial spot took too much of a chunk out. Is the point of it to get it as close to the curb as possible? Almost like if your seeing sparks come up from the blade, that actually means you are straddling the curb as close as you’re supposed to?
Look into the Toro 60 volt products, I maintain a 12 acre Hobby Farm, the trimmers, hedge clippers, edgers, etc all do as good as the gas. Looked at the Stihl, they make a good product, but too many different batteries ... the Toro units all use the same batteries in the 60 volt class, you just have different amps from 2 amps to 10 amps. With the exception of the s/p mower the 2.5 amp does a great job. Have close to 3/4 mile of fence to trim around ... the trimmer does it on one battery with one bar left. My other battery yard tools are Ryobi 18 volt, do a good job, just not a lot of run time. One other thing I've found, don't recharge a hot battery, by all means let them cool down over night, and keep them stored where they don't get overly hot 100 degrees or overly cold 30 degrees, I have some batteries that are close to 15 years old from Ryobi, and three years old on Toro.

Remember kids... before you start edging with a dangerous high torque spinning blade.. make SURE you put on some safety glasses! Open toed sandals are perfectly fine though.

I just bought my kombisystem with a straight shaft edger today . I also plan to retouch my mulched up garden bed. Should I have bought the curved shaft or can I get away with the curves of my bed with this straight edger?... I’ll either keep it and try it this weekend or exchange it out before I use it. Honestly straight shaft is much more powerful, you’ll be able to cut through any edges with it. Only reason I like the curved is the ergonomics.. I always keep my edges deep so I don’t have to worry having the power of the straight shaft. You made a good choice. 👍

Haha I don’t know about that;) I only have the ego string trimmer so I’m not sure about thier edger... but if it’s anything like third string trimmer then it’s deff a fine machine. I will deff say the stihl fc 56 is awesome, I was thinking about getting the ego edger attachment but it’s gonna be hard to let go of the stihl:(
Another great video. I use the EGO and love it along with the Ego blower for clean up. As long as you stay on those edges (every mowing) it’s a quick easy pass. I found that when you let them go, it’s so hard to re-establish the line.
I have the Stihl fs65 string trimmer was thinking of getting the edger head attachment or the whole edger from them but I also have the ryobi 40volt hedge trimmer was looking at ryobi edger so not sure which way to go? They will all cost me no more than 289.00

While i love the FC91, i have since added the dewalt 60V edger and it has takin the new crown for me. Still love my stihl products but man these dewalt battery tools are good.
