    🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴
    ✅Ingredients
    • 2 cups white rice
    • 1 medium white onion, diced
    • 6 tablespoons salted butter, melted
    • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
    • 5 cups chicken broth
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • ½ teaspoon black pepper
    • 4-6 whole chicken thighs
    • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
    • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)
    ✅Instructions
    1️⃣ 00:10 - Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x13 pan.
    2️⃣ 00:15 - Stir rice, onion, 3 tablespoons melted butter, and flour together directly in the 9x13 pan until flour has no more visible white specks. Spread rice mixture out evenly on the bottom of the pan. Pour in chicken broth, heavy cream, salt, and pepper and stir to combine.
    3️⃣ 01:26 - Place chicken thighs on top of rice mixture. Brush remaining melted butter on top and sprinkle chicken with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and paprika (optional).
    4️⃣ 02:09 - Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
    5️⃣ 02:20 - Remove foil and bake another 30 minutes until rice and chicken are cooked through and the chicken skin crisps up. For crispier skins, place under the broiler setting for 2-3 minutes before serving. Serve hot.

      depending on the cook time of orzo which I am not familiar with but if it's close to the same as rice you can add it and just thicken up the recipe alittle with more flour and butter if it is less than rice then just partially through the cook add the orzo

    • @Thestayathomechef
      @Thestayathomechef  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Boneless chicken breast has a very different cooking time that doesn't necessarily go with the rice in this recipe. You can add the chicken breasts later on in the cooking time, but if you don't make any changes you'll end up with really dry and over cooked chicken breast.

    • @jenjenskitchen
      @jenjenskitchen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you use chicken breast, I would leave it uncovered for the cook time and if after doing that it is still too dry try precooking the rice a little and reducing the cook time while leaving it uncovered

      We recommend using only regular white rice in this recipe. Instant rice is not a good option and will overcook in this casserole. Brown rice requires a much longer cooking time than white rice and is also not recommended for this recipe.

    Why you didn’t wash the rice ? Is it ok to use it with out washing ?

      Rinsing rice is a matter of personal preference in the United States and many other countries where hygienic issues are not a concern. Rinsing the rice rinses away starches and gives you individual grains of rice, while not rinsing creates a stickier rice. My family prefers the stickier rice.
