    SAUCE RECIPE: 🖨️ thestayathomechef.com/chick-f... 🖨️
    🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴
    ✅Ingredients
    CHICKEN NUGGETS
    Wet Ingredients:
    • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, about 2 pounds
    • 2 cups milk or buttermilk
    • 2 teaspoons salt
    • 1 teaspoon M.S.G. (optional)
    • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
    Dredging Mixture:
    • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
    • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
    • 2 teaspoons paprika
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 teaspoon M.S.G. (optional)
    • ½ teaspoon baking soda
    For Frying:
    • 2-4 cups peanut oil
    ✅Instructions
1️⃣ Cut chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes (nugget-sized pieces). In a large mixing bowl, whisk together milk, egg, salt, and M.S.G. (if using). Add in nugget pieces and toss to combine. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.
2️⃣ When ready to cook, pour enough peanut oil into a large skillet to cover the bottom with 2 inches of oil. Heat peanut oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and monitor temperature.
3️⃣ Make the dredging mixture by combining flour, powdered sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, M.S.G. (if using), and baking soda in a shallow bowl or gallon-sized resealable plastic bag.
4️⃣ Remove the chicken breast pieces from the fridge. Remove chicken pieces from milk mixture and tap off excess liquids.
5️⃣ Working in small batches, toss the chicken breast pieces in the dredging mixture to coat. Place on a wire rack until ready to fry.
6️⃣ Fry chicken in peanut oil in small batches for 4 to 5 minutes, until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Use a slotted spoon or tongs to remove nuggets from oil and transfer to a paper towel lined plate to drain. Serve hot.
    CHICK-FIL-A SAUCE
    ✅Ingredients
    • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
    • 1/4 cup plain barbecue sauce
    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
    • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/8 teaspoon Chili powder
    • 1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
    • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
    ✅Instructions
1️⃣ In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, barbecue sauce, sugar, mustard, and garlic powder until smooth.
2️⃣ Add in vinegar, cider vinegar, and lemon juice and whisk until well combined. Cover and store in the fridge.

Glad we tried this tonight. One person in the house has peanut allergies so I used separate countertop electric fryers one with peanut oil and one with vegetable oil. The vegetable oil was a close taste the peanut was an exact match. Using the cooling rack to hold them before cooking is pure genius. Thanks for sharing.

This was absolutely fantastic and a extremely close 2nd to the real deal. This was absolutely delicious. If I got my apartment now, I would of did a video review on your recipe. But now next time I make them, I am going to livestream me making them again and doing a full fledged video review on stream. Well done, Rachel!

For the record, I have used another recipe that calls to brine the meat only in pickle juice. For the dredge, just the other spices and no MSG. And cooked them in vegetable oil. I made chicken fillets and nuggets with the exact same setup and they came out amazing!
*HOWEVER* ... I will be using your recipe in a few days and compare the differences.

I just made these, and they came out great! I fried them in small batches, about 8 nuggets at a time, 3-4 minutes per batch.
The MSG adds that signature Chick-Fil-A flavor, and the powdered sugar adds a little sweetness.
This is probably the closest tasting recipe to Chick-Fil-A since it doesn't use pickle juice and uses MSG.
And they were really easy to make too!

  • @DianeSLoftis
    @DianeSLoftis 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

We're definitely going to try this. I've always heard that they brine the chicken in pickle juice. But-- your brine makes way more sense. We've recently gotten comfortable with a copycat recipe for White Castle burgers that we adore. It's on a meal rotation about every two weeks. LoL! I am 100% all for home cooked meals. This is an awesome one. Thank you. Oh, your dinosaur decor is super cool!! 🦕

      @Thestayathomechef  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

The pickle juice thing is an urban legend. Chick-fil-A has debunked it and there's definitely no pickling ingredients or even vinegar in their brine, but the rumor persists! Isn't that interesting? Don't get me wrong, brining chicken nuggets in pickle juice is delicious, but it doesn't taste like Chick-fil-A.
