Due to severe gridlock in Bangers they decided to go 'upthere' with new major freeways and rail. Just as well, but. They are putting around 1 million new vehicles on the road every year. And of course nearly everyone goes to Bangers for work. Have you tried to drive from up North, Kohn Kaen, to BK after one of their major holidays. As in 14 hours of 5 wide mayhem. Interesting video, I quite like a train ride. Arriving In Bangkok in two weeks time, and I’ll spend some time there on my way home. Checking on bus from Airport to Pattaya, it seems the one I took last time isn’t available now. I don’t really fancy paying £40 for a taxi. Enjoy your trip.
Great to catch up with this video Trev 😀 ! What station were your going to end up in if you went through to the end of the line? Hua Lamphong or the newer Bang Sue station .. I reckon I might catch it from Bangkok to Pattaya on my next visit shortly ! Keep up the great channel mate 👍 🍻
Last month we took the train from Bangkok to Hua Hin was a great trip and made for a better adventure than just jumping in a cab , we even got a Thai railways meal but sardines and rice at 11 in the morning wasn't my cup of tea
When you say Thai Railway meal do you mean the hawkers that board the train during the journey, not seen a restaurant car yet on any train. That would be good, all those gas burners making your tom yum.
As for bikes going against the traffic, that's one of the things I like about Thailand, a moped taking a cheeky shortcut shows initiative! And it helps you keep your wits about you 🙂
Always wondered how the train trip was. I think it opened after my last trip. TO bad it doesnt have a stop at the Airport (or I missed it in your vid). Got to love Thai travel. I took the bus system from Pattaya to a Wat Bang Phra outside Nakhon Pathom for a tattoo. It was an experience and glad to say I'll rent a car next time.
Good video. After my cycle tours of SE Asia and finishing in Pattaya I would always take my bike on the train to BKK. Ironically the bike cost 100 Baht and I cost 25 Baht.

Yeap it's always a good idea and makes a change from Pattaya I popped up here Friday. Ambassador on sukhumvit 11 has very good bars and restaurants and nightlife not far away at cowboy and nana. I'll head back Pattaya on Monday never considered the train but will look at it
Looks like the motorbike ride had ya stressing a tad bit. I've had similar experiences on the way to Bangla here in Patong. I feel like I should close my eyes at times but then I wouldn't know if I ever needed to jump off or something lol!
Making the same train as you. Nice scenery, an eclectic group of passengers, and waaay too many stops. Some stations are (relavely) modern others not so much & a few that looked like Berlin 1945
10 years ago you could take a cab to BKK for 1,000 Baht or a shared van from 2nd Rd in Pattaya to Democracy Monument for a few hundred Baht. Both take less than 1 hour.

I generally really enjoy using the train to explore the countries I go to on holiday by train. Granted I've mainly done it in Japan and Italy both of which are really easy to travel round by train.
I done that train the other way .Bkk to Pattaya in early 2019 .Glad to see the price has stayed super low .Even with that a scruffy looking young Thai guy got put off the train by the inspector as he had not got a ticket .I paid an extra B100 to bring my bicycle on board .

Honestly the traffic in Bangkok has not changed much in 30 years from my recollection. As intense as the motorbike antics may seem to many, this is child's play compared to Saigon or Hanoi. I've been happy in Pattaya, a city of about a third of a million depending on the time of year. Having lived in the New York City area most of my life, I've had enough of the big city life. An occasional visit is fine by me and I take the local trains to get around mostly.
Hi Trevor, I stayed in Bangkok twice ,the first time I came to Thailand my mate and I went straight to Koh Samui flew in to the airport two hour exchange than out without seeing Bangkok itself .So second time to Thailand I gonna see Bangkok ,oh boy it was Sunday morning early flight from London a 6am landed got a taxi from the airport as I came closer to city it's skyscraper's were everywhere ,crikey it's like New York and as for the traffic on a Sunday morning 9 o'clock was crazy trying to cross the road at big Zebra crossing was squeaky bum time ,you get half way a cross the light's would change to green it was like Grand prix ,oh boy fucking leg it to the other side lol and this was a Sunday morning traffic .I like the Tuk Tuk's it's a laugh a bit pricey to be honest but at night in the back of a tuk tuk we both enjoyed the ride .Your vlog on a back of motorbike taxi bloody hell a white knuckle ride, I wouldn't be on back that bike ,sure it's quicker ride but blimey I would have shit myself ,I almost did watching your vlog 😂.
Cheers mate
Great to catch up with this video Trev 😀 ! What station were your going to end up in if you went through to the end of the line? Hua Lamphong or the newer Bang Sue station .. I reckon I might catch it from Bangkok to Pattaya on my next visit shortly ! Keep up the great channel mate 👍 🍻
Cheers mate much appreciated
I love Thailand it's such a weird and crazy place
Indeed
Last month we took the train from Bangkok to Hua Hin was a great trip and made for a better adventure than just jumping in a cab , we even got a Thai railways meal but sardines and rice at 11 in the morning wasn't my cup of tea
When you say Thai Railway meal do you mean the hawkers that board the train during the journey, not seen a restaurant car yet on any train. That would be good, all those gas burners making your tom yum.
@@grahamjohnson4702 no they bring you a little doggy bag halfway through the trip , water , biscuits ,fruit and the sardines and rice
Haha fantastic mate
I did that journey last month ! Was good value at 44 baht I enjoyed it , what did you think of Hua Hin ?
@@grahamjohnson4702 First class from Bangkok to Chiang Mai has a restaurant car
As for bikes going against the traffic, that's one of the things I like about Thailand, a moped taking a cheeky shortcut shows initiative! And it helps you keep your wits about you 🙂
And the hospitals busy.
Also causes hundreds of accidents and loss of lifes
@@Buzzinpattaya it's a problem at night time. Sometimes people forget to put their lights on and they have a head on collision.
Thanks mate and yeah I can imagine your bus ride lol
Good video. After my cycle tours of SE Asia and finishing in Pattaya I would always take my bike on the train to BKK. Ironically the bike cost 100 Baht and I cost 25 Baht.
How crazy is that LOL
Haha the start of this vid is hilarious; the inquisitive woman at the train station lol
Yeah she was let's say interesting
LMAO! You're killing me. Great video again.
Thanks mate
There’s a little Canadian band , wrote a song about that. Wanta hear it? Here it goes.
We’re on the train to Bangkok
Aboard the Thailand Express
We’ll hit the stops along the way
We only stop for the best
I see your trip was less than I expected but thanks for the experience. I’ve always wondered how it would be like to take the train.
Thanks mate
Yes, that nobody band named RUSH, so obscure.
Awww, Trev. I'd sit next to ya, mate!
🤣😅😷
lol, cheers mate
Yeap it's always a good idea and makes a change from Pattaya I popped up here Friday. Ambassador on sukhumvit 11 has very good bars and restaurants and nightlife not far away at cowboy and nana. I'll head back Pattaya on Monday never considered the train but will look at it
Nice one mate
I hope that you gave your driver a good tip - excellent skills.
I was happy to have survived
Looks like the motorbike ride had ya stressing a tad bit. I've had similar experiences on the way to Bangla here in Patong. I feel like I should close my eyes at times but then I wouldn't know if I ever needed to jump off or something lol!
I was scared not gonna lie lol
Making the same train as you. Nice scenery, an eclectic group of passengers, and waaay too many stops.
Some stations are (relavely) modern others not so much & a few that looked like Berlin 1945
Cheers mate
10 years ago you could take a cab to BKK for 1,000 Baht or a shared van from 2nd Rd in Pattaya to Democracy Monument for a few hundred Baht. Both take less than 1 hour.
Wow thanks for sharing
Interesting vid Trev..Nana hotel is the number 1 monger hotel in Bangkok you naughty boy!
Hahahaha did I deny that lol 😂😂😂
@@Buzzinpattaya Nana was the very first hotel I stayed in Thailand when a friend took me there in 1996 to get over a break-up with my girlfriend in London. I drowned my sorrows in Pharoahs Nana Plaza.
3rd Class & motorbike Taxi? You are rockin' Thai style!!!🍻
Pushed the boat out on this one mate 🤣😹
@@Buzzinpattaya 75 B for total trip! Guess that is hard to beat - if you are living there and retired with F All to do its a no brainer.. Thanks for showing us the trip. I did second class sleeper BKK to Chaing Mai - best trip ever done. Try it when you have a spare week. :)
I generally really enjoy using the train to explore the countries I go to on holiday by train. Granted I've mainly done it in Japan and Italy both of which are really easy to travel round by train.
Yeah defo a fun experience
I done that train the other way .Bkk to Pattaya in early 2019 .Glad to see the price has stayed super low .Even with that a scruffy looking young Thai guy got put off the train by the inspector as he had not got a ticket .I paid an extra B100 to bring my bicycle on board .
Wow thanks for sharing
Welcome to Bangkok Trev, if you need any advise on what to do, let me know. Peace bro and enjoy
Thanks mate much appreciated
Crazy driving for sure.
Haha indeed
Nice vidio love your work you do . Hairy ride on bike trevor eh 😜 Room you said was 1k was that for each night or both nights ? Looking forward to next vidio.
Per night mate
great video, normally i get a taxi, next time i will try the train
It's a fun trip
Honestly the traffic in Bangkok has not changed much in 30 years from my recollection. As intense as the motorbike antics may seem to many, this is child's play compared to Saigon or Hanoi. I've been happy in Pattaya, a city of about a third of a million depending on the time of year. Having lived in the New York City area most of my life, I've had enough of the big city life. An occasional visit is fine by me and I take the local trains to get around mostly.
Cheers mate much appreciated
Cheers Trevor
Hahaha great comment mate thank you
watching the motor bikes driving thru traffic just boggles my mind you do that anywhere else and you will have so many tickets
haha yeah that's true
Yeah, know the feeling. I always got the loony on the bus sitting next to me back in England
Lol was kinda funny
I always enjoyed bangkok. Every time I travel to Thailand. I always give BKK a couple of days
Fair play
Can I ask you have you any advice.. I'm looking for a reliable English to thai translation app.. sometimes things get lost in translation with my GF and it causes murder between us . Lol
