  • Phil is at the Pattaya train station to get the quicker weekend train to Bangkok. Journey time is just over two hours twenty minutes.
    Search for the station location, it's on the darkside, not far from Sukhumwit Road near Central Pattaya Road.
    We also visit a great new Irish pub in Bangkok called O'Leareys

    Tragic trainspotting fact, the train you were on was built in Derby in the early nineties! Still lots of those sprinters left in service in the UK in the north west and Wales, I worked for BREL (British Rail Engineering Ltd) who built them, one of the last acts before they were privatised,
    Definitely something I am going to try soon, great video mate.

    Looks like an old British Rail Sprinter train you got from Pattaya to Bangkok! In 1992 I got a train from Bangkok to Kuala Lumper in Malaysia, Took an overnight sleeping berth. Then stay in Kuala Lumper 1 night. Then another train to Singapore. Stayed there 3 nights. Then got a train back to Georgetown, on Penang Island. Then after 1 night there back to Bangkok. I used to work for British Rail and loved travelling by train.

    Mate at Makkasan station you can catch the train AirPort Express to Suvarnabhumi Airport, I use it all the time, very convenient. In fact you can catch the bus from the airport straight to Jomtien, usually takes about 1hr 35mins approximately 😊. Oh you did a vlog on the bus to Jomtien 👍. Is there any parking available at Pattaya train station?

    • @manosparavida3551
      @manosparavida3551 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd like to know which coach you're catching? As the one I caught on Saturday took a little over 2hrs to the first stop on Sukhumvit highway (North Pattaya) then 10-15mins later I was dropped off at an alleged South Pattaya stop, which was still a 150baht motorcycle taxi ride away from Soi Buakhao, opposite New Plaza entrance. I agree that a cab from Bangkok airport takes about 1hr35mins. I've been coming here since February 2007 and recall the old road to Pattaya that took a bewildering 2+ hrs by cab.

    • @roygoad2870

    • @manosparavida3551

      @@roygoad2870 No need for an exclamation mark. I'm speaking from experience of approximately 16 trips to Pattaya and have never known a coach journey to be less than 2+ hrs. I firstly used the airport taxi, which before the new highway was about two hours. Thereafter the journey was cut to 1hr 35mins. But no way does a coach journey equal a cab journey.
