i know this is old, but if you can’t afford produce bags, reuse the plastic ones. don’t tie them though or you’ll have to cut them. some things that are in a rubber band or things you’re only getting one of, dont even need a bag at all
Here in my country we used to wear wooden disposal utensils until it became fancy to wear plastic ones, now the state government is forbidden single use plastic and stores are going back on selling the wooden ones, just now they are charging 12 times the original price just because now is considered an alternative thing for ecofriendly people.

I use my own compost pile for composting bamboo, but make sure its in tiny pieces as larger pieces take a long time to decompose.
I love that you’re really promoting zero waste in its most extreme form, but I don’t agree that people should sacrifice anything while trying to go “zero” waste. People should try to do as much as they can, but nobody is perfect and convenience is a huge issue to consider. Reforming the industry is where zero waste goal should be. That goal shouldn’t be put solely on the consumer, but awareness about plastic waste and reducing it is certainly something to strive for.
YES!! I agree Maria 💗In this video I aimed to advise her on how she could adopt habits that would help her reduce her waste. I also mention in the video during the vitamins/supplements part that she should never sacrifice her health/go too extreme for this lifestyle because that is not what it's about. Something that I have been working on to release on my channel this year is actually challenging industries and companies to change their business practices rather than focusing on just the consumers. I'm surprised she didn't encourage her to at least gather up all of the plastic film currently in her home (saw lots of examples where it was wrapped around produce), and recycle it the next time the homeowner goes to the market, or hardware store like Home Depot, or Target. The plastic on the peppers and corn both could be recycled. The frozen fruits in the freezer, she could rinse after use, add them to soft plastic recycling as well.
I saw some of her purchases had the Sprouts Market logos on them. Every Sprouts store has plastic bag/plastic film recycling bin available to the public. Usually somewhere near the shopping carts. I know because I asked about it.
Very demoralizing. I appreciate the information, but not everyone lives in an area where you can just go pick this or that up at a farmer's market. Almost every alternative offered in this video is restrictive to me based on location. To be fair I stopped the video about 4 minutes shy of ending because it's kind of making me feel like I can't do it. I know that's not true, but I just want to suggest that you are a bit more mindful when making these things. Those of us that want to make changes but don't live in an area with those kinds of amenities have to rely on the internet for info. So, when the info only directs us to those amenities that are not available it is upsetting.
