Hi Letitia, Just discovered your channel and appreciated the sustainability hacks you provided, as well as your explanation of the reason why black plastics are not sorted due to the optical sorters being unable to detect them on conveyer belts. I find that a lot of people making videos about zero waste are not fully informed about how waste is created in the first place or how it is mechanically sorted, and instead they give referral links to zero waste products that in fact, do not reduce waste but rather encourage people to buy more things. I wanted to point out that on your comment about Styrofoam: The reason why it isn't typically recycled is that it is not cost-efficient. You are correct, in that there is technology to do so. I'm based out of San Francisco and did a senior research project on their waste management system. I've seen their recycling facility and how Styrofoam is melted and shaped into condensed blocks. The problem is that there are few markets for the end product of recycled Styrofoam. The cost of melting it down and reprocessing it exceeds the cost of creating new Styrofoam, as it is a very cheap material. Hope that sheds some light on your question! I look forward to watching your future videos :)
Thank you for this, and I really appreciate the community you've made.. taking steps to save the environment sometimes feels so overwhelming when you feel as if you're all alone seeing these videos and knowing that others are watching really quiets some anxiety i feel towards the subject

I have so many questions about composting. I'm just starting off, so what do people do with their compost in the winter? I don't have a facility to take my compost so I don't have that option and no one here takes compost. So my only option is to try and do it myself. I have a small place where I do try and grow some veggies and I know that I can't be throwing all my compost in the garden everyday. I'm suppose to do wait I forgot how many days before putting more compost in. So throughout all those times I can't use it or take it anywhere or give it to someone else what do you do with it? I need help 😣

Can’t wait to thrift a curtain, and put it to good use! Thanks❣️

Does the nutrients stay intact when u freeze and eat veggies ans fruits? Or food in general.
Hi I'm super late but I have That Exact reusable bag but it's grapes instead of a strawberry! And it has the same funky flower pattern on it when you unfold it
Canada is really behind in the recycling game, so I try to be as minimal with my waste as possible. It's hard to do all at once but take baby steps.
The produce bag idea blew my mind! I been looking for them online and they are so expensive. I am definitely putting this in mind at my next trip to my thrift store.
Girl I just got my boba straw cause I know the exact obsession - they are amazing! I am an English teacher in Seoul, so I am actually doing a 'Save the Earth' themed camp and will be giving away low waste items as part of the prizes for good behaviour. I was actually surprised by how much styrophome was used here for delivery items as it isn't used as much elsewhere, but it's great that it's so well recycled.
What a freaking amazing video, so much work has been put in this video, i wish you the best and hope you get noticed more
I love these kinds of videos so much!
I'm so glad you do!
omggggg the clear grocery bag idea is so smaaaawwwttt
L O V E your produce bag hack!!! Reusable produce bags are insanely pricey for what they are, so I only have one that I bought on impulse at my local co-op
Really love the idea of turning curtains into produce bags.

I know im late but another fact is if your wax wraps start to go fabric like again or there dirty you can actually compost them!

I am still trying understand sustainable living, but these are really great tips. I like one with curtains and fruit bags. Hey I don't like air conditioner, so I have fans thought my apartment. Is that sustainable living? 🤔
Fans are definitely better than AC!
Careful with the essential oils!!! I loved them for like a year, but if you don’t let them dry then they can stain
We need more videos like these!
Where do you bring/what do you do with your bags of compost?
I have so many questions about composting. I'm just starting off, so what do people do with their compost in the winter? I don't have a facility to take my compost so I don't have that option and no one here takes compost. So my only option is to try and do it myself. I have a small place where I do try and grow some veggies and I know that I can't be throwing all my compost in the garden everyday. I'm suppose to do wait I forgot how many days before putting more compost in. So throughout all those times I can't use it or take it anywhere or give it to someone else what do you do with it? I need help 😣
Love the reusable produce bags!
same, I just brought some for my recent challenge video! I went plastic free for a week!
So what if u make your box of fabric sheets into a ball(keep it in a small cloth bag) nd just drop scented oils on them from time to time does that count???
You're living my dream!!! My family would never
I love the mesh bag idea!!!
love all of these! cant wait to add some of these to my own eco-friendly tips videos
I love this video alot. Bunz doesn't give option to add referral. I tried to access through your link but it didn't work. When registering it didn't give option for referral.
Oh no! I've had a few referrals. I tried going through the app to see how you could retroactively refer, but I can't seem to find it. My username is @letitia if you want to find me!
my family is very cheap too, so we generally are more eco-friendly without meaning to be, like using water bottles, not taking flyers, eating at home, buying second-hand, selling items, etc
That is really great every bit counts.
Can you tell us more about styrofoam being recyclable now (e.g., do you mean the corn-based similar looking products or the regular)? First I've heard this!
The reusable cloth swabs is geniuuuusssssss I’m shook
ah so obsessed with your lighting and quality in general!! plus also your videos!
