This is awesome. I just picked up some TAC driver 2.75’s and thought I’d need a Bitz to install them. To be clear, did you use a EZ-fletch or mini-max ez-fletch? Thanks!
Good job and I've been trying to figure out how to get the fletchings further back on my shafts as well. Perfect little modification. Love the jig, but they should make it so you can adjust the position of the vanes on the shaft. You fixed it with an easy fix.
Are you still using this setup with the mini max and tac vanes? I was looking into that combo but I’m seeing a few people saying they’re having trouble with it.
@@lonsurez83That explains it. Thanks! So what you're doing is, by shifting 3/4" the shaft upwards, you're shifting the middle third of the helical towards the bottom third of the fletching. I'm aware that that middle third of the helical is the most acute twisted part of the jig. Makes perfect sense! That being said, I may try your technique on my Bohning helical jig to get the same acute helical result. Cuz I'm using 4" feathers and Mini Max isn't an option for me. Will do. Thanks bro!
Have you noticed any arrow yardage changes in how they fly with the strong helical? I use the same jig but with the AAE Maxx Stealth vanes. Didn't think the tacs would stick that well being so stiff. Now I'm thinking about trying to fletch a few up for my own testing.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I did lose some yardage, my sight tape used to get me out to 130 and now I'm at 125...ish. You can't really see a difference until u get out to longer distances. The TAC vanes hold incredibly well but only if you use the primer pen and glue combo. I've had good results with the primer pen and super glue gel as well, but nothing makes them stick unless you prime them first
Without your Custom Nock, what is the distance in inches from the throat of the nock to the start of the vane with the EZ Fletch ?? Thanks in advance. John
Have you had problems with them not being evenly spaced? For some reason when I open the jig one vane is always slightly off. I have never experienced this with the AAE Max stealth. It doesn’t seem to affect them in flight so far. They are grouping well.
Tac vanes have a slightly smaller base so they can move around sometimes inside the arms of the Jig. Also if you don't close the Jig slowly, it can move the vanes too, specially the tac vanes
Have you experienced any vane movement when you close the arms on the EZ flech? I have the mini that I have for many years and sometime when I close the arm's ,one of the vanes seem to slide up the shaft and is glued farther up that the other's. Very frustrating. I will start looking for a mini/max.
They are doing great, to date I haven't had a single one come off. They are flying good as well. I had a couple arrows sink up to the vanes and distort them a little but all I had to do was leave them in the sun for 20 minutes and they went back to shape no problem. Highly recommended them

I've used both. Both required my jig for it to work on my bow. This video I was using the mini max

Thanks for watching I'm glad I could help
Good video. Would you be down to do a video about your arrow flight with your arrows? Curious how they group at long ranges.
Great advice! How long is the little piece of carbon sleeve you put in that adapter?
It's about 3/4". I made it just long enough to clear the rest
Acetone on the shaft, pvc primer and a qtip, 1 slow swipe on the vane and theyll stick like cement
Great idea
Thank you and thanks for watching
Sense you moved the arrow up did you run into facial contact at full draw?
No it still tuned up as normal

I am, I haven't had any issues
Just one question. The older arrow you're comparing the new one with, what jig did you fletch it with?
I used the mini max just without the nock jig I made.

Ik this id old but on the box it says you can twist a glued in nock to adjust the fletch height on the mini and minimax
Excellent solution. Submit a patent on your invention.

Its 1 5/16s without the custom nock, 3/4" using it

I haven't had that issue.

Podium Archery also has mini max in stock.

Yes I have, every now and again I will have one creep up. I haven't found a solution for that except to take my time
How are the tac vanes holding up? Do they fly good

Traded rest clearance for face/ anchor point clearance
That was actually a concern of mine, but I did a paper tune, and my point of impact on target never changed
Curious what is your brace height on your bow
5.25". It's so short I can only use certain rests. My go to was a trophy take and it hits my cables when I draw it, so I'm limited to the QAD
