    I'm also just beginning with tarot. I followed along with this video, then asked my deck, "How can I best work with you?" Then I drew a card. It was Two of Cups. Partnership. I'm so excited!

    I got a First new deck today and cleansed it and talked with it and introduced my energy to it. I did a simple read asking
    "Whats your energy?" (Temperance)
    "What do u see me as?" (Death)
    "What do you want to teach me?" (5 of cups)
    Can someone guide me? And i asked it after wards if someone is gonna die that i know, my deck gave me "The moon"

    • @TheTarotShopUK
      @TheTarotShopUK  หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @vd6056 Temperance is balance, which is Tarot in a nutshell, helping you to be objective. See you as Death is a change maker, it's the card of rebirth which suggests they see you as a new beginning, 5 of cups is letting go, so they want to teach you how to let go, the 5 of cups can be why people consult tarot, to deal with moving on in one way or another. The Moon is secrets and hidden paths. I hope that helps ❤️

    Thanks for the video. I have a question:
    Let’s say I bought a tarot deck as a souvenir two years ago, and it’s been sitting on my desk for that duration. Would I still need to bond it or is the mere fact that it’s been in my room enough?
    Genuine question so I apologize if it’s stupid.

    • @TheTarotShopUK
      @TheTarotShopUK  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      Hi, I'm sorry for the delay - no excuses other that I'm an idiot who pressed the wrong button! Okay, so yes, you will still need to bond with your deck. The fact that it's been there will speed up the process because you've been energetically linked with it but if you want to start working with it you need to reset the intention. It's all in the intention. Hope that helps and any other questions please feel free. By the way, no such thing as a stupid question - ever! I love them, it's why I now teach ❤️

    Wow that’s look amazing. If the deck was touched by my beloved, is that a problem? They are taking the daily card every day, and I am geeting to know my cards by reading them to my husband and daugther…but I was told, that only I can touch them…Is that any ritual to “clean” them?

    • @TheTarotShopUK
      @TheTarotShopUK  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @clairefraser311 when I first started reading cards a long time ago everyone touched our cards and we would recharge/cleanse them in a black silk wrap with a crystal or two. It's not a problem allowing others to do this if you cleanse them regularly because they work with energy. I would suggest a quick incense bath (smoke on the cards like I show in the video) to settle your mind and if you want to continue as you are with loved ones picking a card, make sure you are the first and last person to handle your cards each time and keep a crystal with them. Hope that helps ❤️

      It's not a straightforward answer this, because I don't like to force a bond, it's either there or it isn't and the Tarot works energetically. By classic, do you mean Rider-Waite? If so, use the RW as the training deck, write the keywords on them until you no longer need them and then start working with a deck of your choice. Does that help? ❤️

    I received a 'color-your-own' Tarot deck which I am slowly working my way through. I am new to Tarot, so still learning. I colored the backs of each card differently and am wondering if that will affect the way sitters choose. I also worked on this deck as a meditative tool for stress reduction during a very difficult time. Any special cleansing suggestions or other thoughts on using this deck?

    • @TheTarotShopUK
      @TheTarotShopUK  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, different coloured backs will affect a clients choice but that's not particularly a bad thing. However, it feels as if this deck was your 'introductory deck' bringing you gently into Tarot. For example, mine was an Arthurian (30+ years ago) which was perfect for me because I loved the legends of King Arthur. I fell in love with the magic and mystery of tarot and was hooked. It was an extremely transformative experience and healed me deeply. Fast forward a few months and the deck was such a part of me that I didn't want others to touch it and I just knew it wasn't going to be my working deck because part of my soul healing was involved. I then bought my first Rider-Waite-Smith deck and my readings changed overnight, less soulful and more practical which is very important for readings as most clients want answers to practical questions. I have spent the rest of my life in partnership with the RWS and together we have served thousands and now teach others to do the same, a very good result, and I still have my Arthurian for personal deeper reflections. I would suggest the same path for you ❤

      @@TheTarotShopUK thank you so much for that thoughtful response! I was thinking of getting another deck (especially after seeing the beautiful ones you use on the channel), however someone told me you're never supposed to buy your own but rather a deck should always be gifted to you. @@mrkmbb A fellow Arthurian, lovely to meet you ✨Being gifted a deck may make the practice feel more special and traditional, but it's not a rule. • @TheTarotShopUK
      @TheTarotShopUK  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      I must admit I don't interview my decks but I know many who do. I bond with mine very quickly and try a couple of readings out. If it doesn't gel I don't work with it, but if the channel is open pretty much immediately I know the deck is one of my team. I've just started using the Tarot of Traditions and this is just a little bit of me! We love each other immediately. The spread I use to dive in is always the Celtic Cross, because it's an in-depth reading and it has to make sense. Hope that helps ❤️

  • @alskdjfhg-n6q
    @alskdjfhg-n6q 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Thanks for your lovely video! Here is a small question. I found that you did not shuffle them randomly to mix the cards upright and reversed. Is this because your reading does not need a reversed version?

    • @TheTarotShopUK
      @TheTarotShopUK  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ah, that's because I don't read reversals. It was how I was taught all those years ago and I believe that beginners don't need to add any complexity into their readings. It's a mammoth task to remember 78 cards let alone double that amount so I teach and use the spreads and the negative cards (of which there are quite a few) to display any conflict/blocks or challenges. A reversed card causes a pause within the readers journey through the story and I like the readings to flow from beginning to end. I also think it's a cultural thing in the UK that we don't tend to read reversals, which in itself is ironic as it was the founding father and Brit Arthur Edward Waite who heavily introduced the concept of reversed meanings. Interestingly, this was validated at the Tarot conference I attended last year when the speaker asked who read reversals and she met a sea of blank space. It appears I'm not alone! Does that answer your question? I may have overexplained slightly 😉❤️

    hi! i’m not sure if you still respond to comments since this video is a couple of months old, but i do have a question! what other ways of cleansing my deck are there that don’t involve other items like incense or crystals? i just got my first ever set but i don’t own any other like,, spiritual items (and i currently can’t buy any either), so what other ways of cleansing are there?

    • @TheTarotShopUK
      @TheTarotShopUK  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, I do still respond ❤️ Intention is our most powerful ally in cleansing anything because it's essentially our willpower! If I didn't have any crystals or incense I would use the light. Sunlight (or daylight if you're in the UK, as the sun deserted us last year) preferably as it's natures light and you are charging them up. Face up and each one or just hold each one up to the light in turn. Tell them why you are cleansing/charging them as I do in the video and then hold them in the palm of your hands when done. Then sleep with them by your bed for one night. Hope that helps ❤️

    Is it too late to cleanse decks once you’ve used them a bit? I feel so bad that I’ve never done this. All I’ve done is hold, talk to and thank them 😭

    • @TheTarotShopUK
      @TheTarotShopUK  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s never too late, and since you're blending your energies with the cards, you’re already halfway there. It also depends on whether you've let others handle your cards. If you have, they will recharge with a cleanse and become "untouched" again. If you're the only one handling them, you’ve likely already been bonding with them, so there’s no need to worry about this step. Cleansing is a ritual that speeds up the process, but it’s not essential. It’s mainly for those who want to dive straight in. ❤

      Yes, it's an intentional act to bond with your deck, the cards will happily wait ❤️

    Hey, I bought a tarot card deck, but I don’t feel like I vibe with the deck and I fear they make me uncomfortable. I am unsure as of what to do and would appreciate some guidance

      If you don't relate to the deck then at this moment in time you are not ready to work together, it doesn't mean this will be the case forever just for now. My suggestion is to start with the basic Rider-Waite Tarot deck as it's gentle and very easy to interpret - especially if you follow my videos ❤️❤️

    Hello, I’d like to ask if I don’t have incense to cleanse, what else can I use to cleanse the deck? I have this candle with crystals inside, can I bring the cards past the candle as cleansing?

      Hi, use natural daylight or moonlight. Spread them to allow the light to touch each one for a few hours (preferably one whole day or one night). The next day, gather them together and hold them in your hands and fill them with good intentions. I keep my candle lit and close but don't pass them through the smoke because I'm a tad on the clumsy side and it's too risky with a naked flame. A lot of readers use the battery operated candles when they work because it's the light not the heat that's needed. Hope that helps ❤️

      @@TheTarotShopUK what if I have a small air humidifier with light and smoke? Will that work?

      @urtheappleofmyeye if the smoke is clean water? Then that's ok too. You can even just use your intention with each card as you hold it and bathe it mentally in light and love ❤️

    How do cards end up in reverse if none are shuffled that way when starting with a new deck

    • @TheTarotShopUK
      @TheTarotShopUK  หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you want to use reversals in a deck, then you cut them half up/half down and shuffle them that way. I don't use them because of the way I shuffle a deck, you would always get the same reversals. Some use a table top to shuffle them all around, others will rifle shuffle them (I don't do this because it damages the deck over time) and others will just keep shuffling and splitting, turning periodically. ❤️
