    He’s just so eloquent and humble. A brilliant man but I’ve never seen him boast or show off. A true English gent and national treasure!

      @James M he is literally talking about his drug abuse in this clip. And all the autobiographies he has written, speaking honestly about his mental issue, his trouble with the law, and much more. He is not in any way hiding his fault. He is showing them for all to see and learn from. That's what makes him so amazing.

    I think that it would be in our best interests to nominate Stephen Fry to represent Earth in all future intergalactic communications. The aliens would be mesmerised by the knowledge he was dropping on them, and be convinced that humans are the Sages of the Universe, and worship us haha

      Hopefully the aliens wouldn't go by Mandarin as the main language and rely upon google translate for interpretation.

    Stephen Fry has shared this anecdote at least 7 times on various TV shows. Shame it isn't true. On new years day 1995 Princess Diana was in Sydney, Australia raising money for charity. Perhaps he meant New Years Day 1996?

      There is a reason, apparently there was a rumour that when Stephen was at a royal event in Buckingham Palace many many years ago, he took cocaine in one of the toilets during the event. This rumour seems to be true, as Stephen has never denied it. And people think this is what stopping him from receiving an honour.

    If you go after the drug Lords there will be only minimal access to drugs. The problem with the drug war was that law enforcement was targeting mid level dealers.

  • @exessex3522
    @exessex3522 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Fry's right. Decriminalise drugs and a very large portion of the whole criminal economy would disappear overnight. All the offences committed by desperate addicts would also go away - giving the police much more time to deal with other serious matters. Drug abusers could then be helped to clear their habit. This would not be 100%, of course, but far more of them would pull through once we knew who they all were and where they could be found.

    • @jillosler9353
      @jillosler9353 2 ปีที่แล้ว
