Wormy was a main reason why I have a fear of butterflies to this very day. What I found ironic, as an adult, is that things I associate with butterflies have been related to things I love and enjoy with the biggest example being Fluttershy since she’s my favorite character in the show, but her name and cutie mark relate to butterflies.

    • @marklincovet509

Wormy is actually one of my favorite SpongeBob episodes. The close ups of the butterfly didn't bother me as much as people would've expected and I adore how SpongeBob, Patrick, and the people of bikini bottom overreact to the butterfly and SpongeBob and Patrick think they saved the town when in actuality they left bikini bottom in a apocalyptic state.😂😂😂

Since you brought up MAD in this video, I also want to share the skit that traumatized my young self. It was a really short one, I think it was only like 30 seconds but it was a trailer for a Bambi sequel called "Zombi" where Bambi's dead mom comes back to life as a zombie and kills the hunter that shot her. I hadn't seen Bambi or anything at the time but they literally drew Bambi's zombie mother as a way-too-detailed rotting deer corpse and it was SO freaking scary. Zombies in general were really popular at the time (Walking Dead etc.) and I hated it cause I was always so scared of them, glad the whole trend finally died.

Totally agree. Certainly applies to something from my childhood that, while it didn’t scare me, it really should have: the Phantasy Star Online Ruins. I love it for the reasons it should be scary, but I find it hard to describe because the music is a big part of it. Really helps create the atmosphere that this place never should have been opened.

There was this one episode of Gumball that was made in cooperation with the creators of DHMIS, the episode was about Gumball and Darwin are looking for toys for them to donate when they run into these puppets they used to play as kids, the episode mostly consists of Darwin playing with the puppets while trying to hide them from Gumball, but when Darwin goes to sleep the puppets end up controling his body, and Gumball wears the other puppet (there were 3) and he ends up in the "puppet world", in this world the puppets are life-sized and super creepy, but after that, the puppets trick Gumball and Darwin into becoming their puppets and say that they were going to do horrible things to them, thankfully they were able to escape and they threw the puppets away, but just the image of someone controlling you and doing horrible things to you just for fun, scared the doodoo out of me

I remember Doraline 😂 While I wasn’t creeped out by that, I remember FrankenWinnie scaring me pretty bad. The shot of Christopher Robin accidentally ripping Pooh Bear while pulling him out of Rabbit’s hole made me so uncomfortable. I had some weird fear of seeing stuffed animals getting destroyed(didn’t matter if it was animated or live action). Back on topic though, Mad in general was pretty creepy. I also remember that zombie Bambi segment upsetting me. And we all can’t forget the infamous pimple short. Rejected Toy Story was pretty bad for me too 😂 so I see where you’re coming from.

I remember being unnerved by 'Wormy' very well. I personally deal with Melisophobia (fear of bees and other stinging insects), after having two instances where I was stung by a bumblebee; first time was when I was a baby and the second time I was about six years old. So whenever that close up of Wormy's face showed up, and I'd hear that awful buzzing noise, it would low-key trigger my Melisophobia, as it sounded really similar to a buzzing bee.
I even remember that one night I had dreamt of that exact shot looping over and over. That certainly didn't help matters.
Also, it's interesting to hear that you were unnerved by Queen Victoria from 'Pirates: Band of Misfits'. I can kind of understand, having seen the movie several times myself. Whenever the characters would mention the word 'pirate' when they're talking to her, she'd go from calm and collected to straight up fuming at the drop of a hat. I mean, she almost has the Pirate Captain beheaded like it was the middle ages, for Pete's sake. So, while it's a weird fear to have, I don't see it as unreasonable.

    2. In another episode Goliath and Davy go into a cave and there’s a sinkhole that traps in Davy and Goliath has to leave him to go get help and they’re both crying and little me just couldn’t take it lmaoo
    3. That episode where the guy crashes his plane and Davy and his friends in the summer camp find him and I think keep him alive while looking for help? If I remember correctly he also had his daughter who broke her legs, idk if that’s right tho

When I was in elementary school (probably 3rd-5th grade), the assistant principal was taking to the entire grade upstairs for morning classes and she was not impressed with some kid's behavior, so she told that kid "If you keep misbehaving like that, you'll be taken away from your parents." This scared me because I thought if I was misbehaving too much, then I would get kidnapped by the school, put into this random car with a social worker, and driven away to some valley in Oregon (I didn't know much about Oregon, all I knew was that Gravity Falls took place there since I never set foot out of the Northeast United States).

I also rember being scared of that one episode of Jimmy Neutron where Sheen becomes a genious and his head grows large. I also liked to watch this series on youtube about animation errors in FIM called My Little Bloopers and they would always use that Metal Gear exclimation sound and combined with some of the animation bugs it would always jumpscare me.

the only things i really remember being scared of was internet related, specifically Buried Alive (Pokemon Creepypasta), and then these videos called "Dangers of the Bad Egg" and "March of the Mews" by GlitchManOmega, Bad Egg made me afraid of playing Pokemon Ruby SPECIFICALLY lmfao. I don't think I was scared of Tails Doll but i had a weird obsession with it for a bit.
Only other things that comes to mind that's not internet related was this scene from Family Guy where Peter is scratching bits of his face off while looking in the mirror. I don't know how young i was when I saw it, but i wasn't supposed to be watching Adult Swim lmao. And finally was the Scene from Spirited Away where the parents turn into pigs, I saw it I think on my christmas vacation, or at least some family gathering where I went to California.

The scene you mentioned with the little kid watching the Sesame street parody, and the kid being sucked in, that was from a show called "Angel". My husband watched that show a lot back then, and was able to tell what show was just by that scene. As for the anime with the guy in the red robe, and the girl that was with him, That was InuYasha (Who has dog ears, although he's the only half-demon with animalistic ears... Why is that?) and one of his traveling companions (But also, his love interest.) named Kagome. Inuyasha and Kagome don't see eye to eye at first, but as the series goes on, they slowly realize that they were meant for each other.

There’s a childhood scary story that really stood out to me, I can’t remember it in whole. But my elementary school playground had this fence (I think) and then a big dip down. And if you looked down you’d see a tipped over Truck kinda in the distance and a mini fridge. It was kinda far away from it. And I don’t really remember what the story was (I think the story was that someone got stuck down there?? Or was there ghost was living there???) I never really believe in supernatural things like that, but still to this day I remember looking at that car, and it always put me on edge. A couple of scattered memories that came up:
    - Koh the Face Stealer scared the crap out of me as a kid, I legitimately couldn't watch the episode/s involving it for years. Hama and the bloodbending episode were also creepy, but nowhere near as bad as Koh for me.
    - The episode of Teen Titans where Raven's fears came to life freaked me out, but when I saw the end of the episode it really wasn't all that bad anymore.
    - The entirety of The Polar Express. I think it was the animation style, but the whole thing was creepy to me.
    - Sharkboy and Lavagirl is a vague memory for the most part, but I do remember being afraid of a scene where I think the teacher turned into a supervillain? I think it wasn't _actually_ the teacher though, just a figment based on him.
On another note though, something that definitely could have traumatized me if I knew about it came from Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town. The infamous 4:44 easter egg that happens when you interact with your TV at exactly 4:44, and the entire four/death reference. I had no idea that this existed so I never encountered it by accident, but especially out of context it would have terrified me lol. But the New Year's dreams, on the other hand, did freak me out.

I love listening to stuff like this. It's really interesting to me how different kids process media.
I was petty over exposed to scary media as a kid, and the only things I remember really getting to me were an episode of Full Metal Alchemist 2003, and an episode of The X Files.
I don't remember much about the FMA episode. Something about a disease spreading that, to me, made people's skin look like it was peeling up like a ripe pine cone.
I remember a lot more about the X Files episode. It was one about quadruplets that had been separated at birth, and were being hunted down by the devil to have their eyes burnt out. They were angels, or something. There was a lot of catholic imagery, and it was shot as Scully retelling the story in confession, and it dealt with her grief over her daughter.
Both shows deeply upset me, and gave me nightmares, but ONLY those specific episodes.

As a kid, I used to have a fear of aliens and it all stemmed from a specific era of kids' channels being obsessed with Aliens for some reason. One notable example was Cartoon Network’s ‘Invasion’ event where their current cartoons had an alien plot that connected them. The marketing of the movie was really creepy, I remember. They had ads of news reports of the aliens taking over CN city and the three mascots/alien hosts they had for it freaked me out. I would always avoid the TV where those ads played. The Invasion episodes also scared me, specifically ones for Camp Lazlo, Billy and Mandy, and Ed, Edd, and Eddy. The beginning of the Ed episode actually terrified me and gave me nightmares I remember.
The other one were these commercials segments on DisneyXD about UFOS. I forgot what it was called but I remember a segment of a girl telling a story about her dog barking at the ground before an earthquake happened and another one of a boy talking about a UFO sighting he saw.
