    I adjusted my latch, changed my seal, changed my spoiler seals…. Nope! I had the exact same problem you had. Thank you, you’ve saved my em1 from rotting more.

    Having this same problem on my 99 civic SI, I sealed the first lower seam with GE metal silicone, but then realized it was also coming from the top seam under the rear windshield as you show... frustrating but I will try to slather some silicone up in that crevice this week! thanks for the video

    Not sure if this is my problem, but I love how simply and cheaply you've diagnosed this-i feel stupid for never thinking of this!
    Will try and update soon

    Thank you man the leak in my trunk has been fixed btw too much water in the trunk can burn out the lightbulbs prematurely !

    This really helps a lot. I would have never thought of using soapy water and air. I've got a leak up high and can't find it, but I think this will track it down. Thanks a bunch

    WOW!! That soap and air combo...genius. I have same issue from a 2000 civic on both sides of the trunk

    Trunks all seem to leak at these seams eventually. I would have used Permatex Black Rubber Sealant.

    Will this work on a 2001 Honda accord coupe? Can't seem to find any videos 😕 any suggestions?

    • @RustBeltAuto
      @RustBeltAuto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually found this leak because it rained, and everything froze. It was easy to find that way. You could always get locked in your own trunk, and have someone wash your car 😝

    I have a similar issue with my 1999 Honda Civic EX. I also hope it's not the seal around the left rear light.

      go buy a spongy yoga matt and cut a new gasket from that. No need to buy new gaskets you can make new ones

    That is good that you figured out where the leaks were coming from. That liquid nails junk looks pretty good. You should do an "after" video to show us that there are no more leaks. Do you leave your garage bay free so you can work? Is there anyway you can keep your Honda inside? Where is that other Honda, surely you have that baby inside, it's too nice to leave it out!

      This stuff seals just fine. The old factory sealant turned into a crusty powder. As you can see the factory paint could not sick to it anymore. You can paint over it too.

    Mine floods in my trunk and I've done everything possible to fix it. I've sealed the tail lights I've seen all those holes behind the bumper, I've put sealant caulking on all those seals around the top of the trunk and bought a brand new rubber seal....I don't know what to do with mine it's very frustrating I want to build subs into the trunk and I can't

    • @RustBeltAuto
      @RustBeltAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was easy to find after a good freezing rain. Why don't you live in the trunk, let someone torture you with a garden hose, and pour water all over the car. Chinese water torture.

      I think I might fix it this time.

    I actually noticed this same problem in my 2000 Honda Civic Ex Coupe. What would be the best way to do this myself or would it be cheaper to just get it welded?

    • @RustBeltAuto
      @RustBeltAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว
