i think you can do it mockup
People saying distortiong will produce same result yes
But this is mockup it's useful if you have lot of ex posters or showcasing for products
You don't need to do it every time just change the image with actions and output the desired resultions for whatever product you are advertising

This technique is really helpful if you have to repeatedly make mockups using the same background but with different creatives.
One thing to note is make the rectangle to same ratio as your creative before converting to a smart object. That way you don’t have to then manipulate the creative to fit it onto the rectangle
