If I had to pick a team, I'd pick SA1 anyway, so my opinion is validated by these internet personalities.
No, but seriously, the points in the debate never really mattered. This was Whose Line but with Sonic fans (which, by the way, would be an awesome improv set to see at a convention!) I'm just happy it didn't immediately dissolve into hilarious, incoherent yelling, because that's what the debate normally becomes.

No, Sonic Boom had literally no interesting music. '06 had His world, all of their themes, and plenty of good level music. Sonic 06 still had it's Sonic roots in it. While Boom adds a shoe horned in combat system that is not only boring to do but takes far too long and it's so much more pointless.

No worries. It wasn't something you guys could control and most of the panels we wanted to see Saturday required a long wait. It actually worked out for me because I'm short and I was able to see everything standing right behind the last row of chairs. I was glad to see a good turnout for it.
I feel that SA2 got cheated out at the end. I feel that there was a bias towards SA1

I think SA1 feels more like a Sonic game in terms of the way it looks. While SA2 sorta feels generic in terms of visual design.
Either way the SA2 group had nothing.
The SA2 group had yelling and screaming. Which honestly stopped being funny after the treasure hunting debate.

I feel like Unleashed and Colors would be a good debate since Generations for the most part perfected that formula while on the other hand.
Colors and Unleashed were still trying to figure out what worked and what didn't with the boost formula so I would like to see what people think.
Izuku Deku Midoriya Colors overall was more enjoyable but Unleashed had quite a bit more content and it looks absolutely gorgeous in HD.
Generations beats both of them without a doubt.

I was the guy obnoxiously shouting about sonic advance 3 starting with a city level. Sorry about that. Anyway, loved coming to this, even if I had to wait outside for the first 25 minutes. At least we enjoyed listening to Hunnid P, and theorizing how everyone would be dead by the time we came in.

SA2 and SA1 are balanced in terms of greatness, SA2’s soundtrack is more iconic though with bangers like Live and Learn, Escape from the City, Pumpkin Hill, E.G.G.M.A.N, Supporting Me, among other tracks. The only tracks in SA1 that are on the same level of iconic as SA2 are Emerald Coast, Speed Highway, Unknown from M.E, and Open Your Heart.

I gotta say, when i first played both SA1 and SA2, i liked SA1 and loved SA2, but after continually playing the games over the years i ended up really loving SA1, because it felt the most classic, slowly loathing to play SA2, like it's real hard for me to even play the game anymore since I'm slowly hating it

I know this debate was more of an entertainment to make people have fun and enjoy the jokes they were saying, but on both sides of the debate, there could have been more reasons and better examples to their answers overall. Not to mention with the people on the panel, on one side you got someone who prefers the classics over the adventure titles and the other side who are more or less casual with the game itself from the answers they gave. I would personally love to see an actual debate with these two games given to actual two fans that actually love the adventure games more than any other games in the series and could explain themselves in any question they are given with more explanation and detail.
I'm neutral on this topic... but I must say that it was probably just the structure that screwed team SA1 over. I'd be confident if it was BrainScratch levels of craziness, the SA1 team would've come out on top; they seemed far more collected than TSA2, and with more reasons. Some of Gareth's decisions just feel unnatural and scripted... which might've been the case ANYWAYS, but who cares.

@Kezza So true. Honestly i liked all charcters on Sonic adventure 1 whereas in sonic adventure 2 i only liked 1/3 of the characters which was sonic and shadow. Nobody likes knuckles, rouge, tails, and eggman in sonic adventure 2.

SA1 had that thing where all your moves took 3 seconds to use because you had to stop to do them.
SA2 I think should have won. The part with how Big improves the game is kind of unnecessary since you can't play as Big in SA2. But overall, this debate was amazing. Next debate, Classic VS Modern Sonic!!!

If I could change one thing about the debate it would be one less round because gameplay was split in three parts anyways and a small section of time for the first side to go to rebut because the second always has the advantage of seeing all the cards. Especially since as noted by the "are we going to talk about the speed stages later" line it was clearly blind so having rebutted on one side and not the other is kind of unfair.
Why are we even debating this when the perfect game called sonic labyrinth exists

The only things I like about Sonic Adventure 2 over Sonic Adventure 1 are: Sonic & Shadow's levels, Live & Learn, Pumpkin Hill's music, Boss Fights, Big getting runned over by a truck, and the multiplayer.
If there's one think I wish SA2 had, I wish there was at least one Sonic VS Eggman boss battle. After Sonic defeats Shadow, they should've also given us another boss battle immediately after that, where Sonic fights Eggman, like he always does.
Next year's panel should be about Colors vs. Generations

There's only so much 2D in the game because of Classic Sonic. Modern Sonic in Generations has less 2D than the entirety of Colors. As for the platforming itself, it was way too blocky, and given how slippery I felt the 2D controls could be, that's not a good combination.

Fun should not be used in arguments. Fun is entirely subjective. Also, when referring to Classic Sonic, I was talking about Generations, not Colors. How does it make sense for Colors to have so much 2D when it's trying to market itself as a 3D Sonic game?

colors is good, but I dont like how much 2D there is, and I don't care for the wisps. because of that, I like unleashed and generations a bit more than it.
The complaint about bumping into the siderails on Windy Valley should be invalid because that was a stick input issue introduced with DX. On Dreamcast and PC with control fix, it works perfectly fine, so you can subtly correct Sonic's angle as he's running down.

I can't say they control "better" but I like that the mechs feel powerful. They can take out whole rooms and can survive being hit with 0 rings unlike Gamma, they feel like they have power. Just wish they had super moves like in multiplayer.
