- Hey everybody! This year, the BrainScratchCrew made their way to TooManyGames 2016, and instead of coming up with a new and interesting panel, they slacked and just decided to do a Q&A instead. Here's the upload for those who couldn't make it!

I feel so bad for Ryan and Ted. Ryan kept getting cut off when he was trying to answer and everyone raged at Ted. Though, I didn't notice that when I was at the panel.

Was the guy who asked (read: fumbled over) the question as to whether or not they intended on revisiting any more older playthroughs. This was a fantastic panel and I'm grateful to have been there for it!

No Ryan why?! Glover is one of my favorite games on the N64! Really, would like to watch a commentary on that game from you guys, it's fairly interesting and used the N64 capabilities very well.

Derrick from GX? Two, who's Matt and Garreth? I know Elliot is the brother of Johnny.
+I, the Nintendo fan Yes Derrick as he's made some cameo appearances in Mario Party and 4 Swords adventures on SGB. Matt is Johnny's best friend and Gareth is from FTCR and most BSC Sonic Commentaries.

loved the bsc tier list, biffalo the XXIV was amazing, I'm sorry for his passing, and here's hoping for the BSCFC anime(not actually brought up in the panel but I just now thought of an anime series sort of like .hack or log horizon, but like an actual mmo, where the guys playing as girls still sound like guys, john included... I'm rambling), POINT IS the panel was hillarious, here's hoping I can make enough money(and college doesn't get in the way) so that I can go to TMG at some point, maybe even meet up with some other BSC fans

i know i'm gonna piss a lot of people off by saying this, possibly including BrainScratchComms, who i will eternally idolize as a gamer. my brothers and i just got Metroid: Other M, we're sharing it. i beat it the other day, i actually really enjoyed it. i beat it 100% in like 9½ hours, i've replayed it twice, and i wanna keep doing it again and again. i am absolutely addicted to it.

Majin Buu is a character from the Dragon Ball series, who appeared as an antagonist before becoming more neutral and friendly. He's called 'Fat' Majin Buu because he has multiple forms, one of which split off from the original and takes Buus place as villain.

If anyone at BrainScratch sees this, I have a question I have thought about for a long time: Not to make you all sound like immature middle-schoolers, but numerous times it has been brought up (maybe for jokes?) that John is the more popular guy among you, and even has more subscribers on his own channels than BSC does. My question is, are any of you guys, individually or as a group, even remotely jealous of Johnny? That he is running BSC with you guys but also has his own sh*t that is by numbers more popular than what he does with you?
I am guessing, seeing as you are all mature and rationally thinking individuals, that the obvious answer is "no", but I still wanted to hear it from your sides.

I HIGHLY doubt any of them are jealous of him, and I doubt they'd admit it if they were.
They're all close friends and I'm sure they're all happy for any success the others may have. At points your comment sounds like quite an insult, like you're trying to rub his success in the others' faces.
Johnny's own videos are a different product to what BSC offers. Professional reviews are a world away from group game commentaries so it's not like you can even compare the success, and I'm sure they all realise this anyway.
There's no need to really ask the question because you know the answer, and less need to bring it up at all.

It's just an awkward question to bring up, is my point. Why do you need to know? And do you really expect to answer it honestly if any of them are jealous (hypothetically)?
I know you worded you're question carefully, but the question itself is just... awkward, like I said. You have every right to ask it, and obviously you did and I'm not flaming you to take it down, but why do you want to know the answer? Personally if I knew a close friend of mine was jealous of my successes (to the point of resentment) I'd probably keep my distance from the person. Jealousy is a strong term, and I doubt friends would feel like that about each other. Perhaps 'envious' is a better term?

On the subject of visual novel games, specifically Ace Attorney, I understand why that may be hard to commentate over, but what about AA: Investigations & the sequel? Those two have more gameplay than just scrolling through text. Not much, admittedly, but at least there's moving sprites. Is there any possibility of that showing up down the road?

...Huh, Lewis didn't say "Chie" to that Persona 4 answer. I thought she was his favorite character in that game. Also, he said that Persona 3 Portable wasn't very good? Really? I honestly think it's the best version of P3.
my major problem with P3P is the fact there is no version of The Answer for either MC least that's why I rate P3P as less than P3FES
SRXofChaos ...See, for me personally, that's actually a huge positive. I *hate* The Answer. I hate the story it presented, the way it treated the characters, and the monotonous gameplay being brought up to eleven. So the fact that it simply doesn't exist in the story of P3P honestly makes the overall experience better for me.
Kisaru1000 maybe but dispite the fact it brought P3's warts to bare it's stilll techinally cannon on their character arcs for the remaining members of S.E.E.S. I mean what would you do if the guy or girl who was holding the team together made the sacrifice that they did.
SRXofChaos I'm more than happy to leave that sort of thing open-ended. The Answer very quickly caused me to dislike a lot of the characters I previously loved, so having the story just end without it is perfectly satisfying for me.
Not to mention, considering the themes of the game and what the characters already went through, I feel like a lot of how they acted in The Answer was (almost) out of character for a few of them...

What's wrong with Partners in Time? I've thought about buying it off the Eshop and I'm not sure if I should since I keep hearing it's the worst or paper Jam is. I already played Superstar Saga a long time ago and I haven't played Bowser's Inside Story because it's not on the Eshop yet.
Paper Jam is the worse one because it has nothing going for it. don't bother.
Partners in Time has mixed receptions but has a particular issue with length. if you go into it with a Superstar Saga/Bowser's Inside Story perspective you'll probably find it really boring.
It's not a bad game, it's just the worst in a series of very good games.

Alright then.
Most of the plots in Partners in Time makes no sense, the exploration isn't all expansive like the minigames & stuff that Superstar Saga or any RPG games is known for, u always goes straightforward and the battle mechanics & design choices isn't that well balanced.
Despite alot of it's problems, I still kinda enjoyed the game. But definitely the weakest of the series in my honest opinion.

I don't know why, but should the day come that SGB does Persona 4, I expecting myself to have to yell out at Matt in the comments section that Kanji is not gay.

Raylo GameMaster That's not what I'm getting at. Matt is someone who sports a massive case of toxic masculinity. He favors the tough guy/man's man archetype, which by itself is not a bad thing, but he also gets on people's cases for things he views as unmanly. And he sometimes views them as unmanly for reasons that only exist to support his world view (see his opinions on bronies as seen during the Wonderland run on KH: Chain of Memories). While I'm sure he likes Kanji for Kanji's desire to "be a man" as it were, Kanji also has an interest in textiles, knitting, sewing, fabrics, and the like, which is stereo typically seen as unmanly. However, thanks to a certain Extra Credits video, it's been circling around that Kanji might actually be gay, which opens up the possibility that Matt may have heard it and latched onto that. Hence why I feel I might be disagreeing with him heavily on that.
Of course, there's always the possibility that I am wrong about all that, and I'd be fine with that. But I can't really put it past Matt.
And no, Kanji ISN'T gay. The developers originally planned for Yosuke to be homosexual himself in his completed Social Link, but it was removed because there was concern it wouldn't fly with audiences (thanks, Did You Know Gaming?). With that in mind, I don't think they would have Kanji be gay, either. Besides, *and this is spoiler territory for the game*, Kanji's Shadow was a gay guy stereotype, which Kanji had accept. And he did. However, he denied being gay after fact, claiming his whole deal was a matter of being accepted by others. If he was actually gay, this would mean that he has gone right back to denying it, which makes no sense, makes his development moot, and should logically rob him his use of his Persona power besides. So, no. He's not gay.
Dragonpit true enough. People do sometimes confuse kanji's whole character arc with the gay thing, heck it was just an overblown depiction of some of his more "feminine" qualities.
Also, I guess I never payed too much attention to Matt's views on manhood.
