Pretty nice little setup you have. I like seeing how everyone has their benches set up. I just bought some tools to start tying flies again. Seems like most people tend to have the same or very similar systems.
Thank you, always helps to see into another’s mind. I’m lucky in that I have a larger space to mess up, I like the tip about using a jar to hold pheasant tails feathers. Tie one for me.
Please review the vise. I want to get one but I don't know if I should go true or just rotary.i never tied before. I see people using the Renzetti doing live tying but I never see anybody use the rachet feature on it. only to turn it to see the belly or to check something. I like to know your thoughts.
The ratchet will give you more control on the rotary feature but honestly I hate it. I know guys that love it. It’s kind of like Nicolas Cage films . The Presentation 2000 has a solid pedestal and long stem than the traveler. I don’t use the indexing features on stem or vise arm. Honestly it’s just a better looking traveler with a better base and longer stem. That being said I love it and I have a traveler.
Relatively new to tying, so I just keep everything in ziplock bags in a plastic tote. I just tie steelhead flies and deer hair/marabou jigs. Oh, and nice pupper.
Such a first grade question. Obviously Synthetic. It’s more aero dynamic and can reduce fly drag by 37.8 percent. I can cast up to 70ft on my tenkara pole.
@@AboutTrout No one seems to want anyone from over here (Louisiana) coming into their state. I'll have to hit you up after the Mexican Beer Flu crap settles down.
No never does my shit look like that and after I get done making a fly I tidy and reorganize everything and put it all in ziplock bags as well as grab a damp cloth and whipe off the surface where ever I was using.
CDC sounds like a type of drug, so when he says I've got my cdc and coq (which he pronounce coke) he sounds like he's showing off what he has for sale on the seedy street corner where you get drugs
Awesome. I also appreciate the never ending story music. That was the movie if my childhood 😂👍🏻
I love the dubbing dispensers from hareline. Keeps everything more organized
Dubbing dispensers are great ! I have one I should probably use more
Love the video share .
Simple area can find what u need. And it's all at hands reach ❤
Absolutely!!
Wish I knew bout that foam trick before I bought my petitjean tool......great vid bud
Nothing better than a clean desk. Blank canvas from which you can trash again after tying two streamer patterns.

Can you do a video on how to get young children to to start fly fishing and tying? Your daughter is adorable!
Great ideas!!
Thanks for checking it out!
Hoarder!!! Just kidding. Awesome video! Cleanliness is next to godliness ;)
Efficient! Thanks for sharing!
My desk definitely looks like your before pictures, also, was that the neverending story music? Awesome! Definitely glad I found your channel!
Thanks ! Haha I set my vise up , where I actually tie looks like a tornado swept it .
Cut foam "Renzetti" - I love it.. Save cash

Thanks he’s a good boy.
My desk looks like your before 90% of the time! Drives my wife nuts
Enjoying the videos. What is the cool trout types poster behind you?
“Trout, Salmon, and Char of North America II”
Bro what’s that bead pad?? I need one!!! I have similar set up with the drawers. Great idea on the dubbing.. thanks
No problem , it’s the Hareline Mega Bead Pad. It’s been good to me.
Got to order some of the Loon rings.
They’ve changed the game
search on Amazon for "2mm Key Rings Loops"
Which drawer do you keep your beard hair? Just started tying and would love to see a few starter pattern tutorials. Maybe a “Basics of fly tying” vid?
That’s a great idea . I think I’ll do that
An over head lamp/magnifying glass is the ticket
Yet another good one, thanks. Keep safe and keep being you. (see what I did there?....)
Glad you liked it ! Hope your desk doesn’t look like mine (pre cleaning)
My big problem is my uv resin gunking up and head cement bottles sealing closed. How do you get around these problems? Thanks
Be sure to wipe down the outside surfaces and clean the threads where you screw your head cement before storing . Hope that helps
Which dubbing casts farther, natural or synthetic?

@@AboutTrout Wow, that's awesome. I'm still trying to master double hauling on my tenkara pole.
Book me! $1000 for a 4 hour clinic

Where did you get that fish poster behind you
Trout of North America by Robert Benke. Came with the trout of North America book.
@@AboutTrout thank you

You should do a review on the plastic table.

www.abouttrout.com/etsy-shop
Thanks!
how much $$$ is that vise worth
They retail for $375
I ran out of fly tying supplies 2 days ago
Uh - oh , support your local shop if you can. Most are taking phone orders .
@@AboutTrout i just came back from my local north 40 fly shop
This video made me look at my desk to see how bad it is right now. It’s shameful lol
It’s okay, messy desk anonymous is here for you
Are you a Guide?
