Next time I’m called to drive one of my cars up to the hill, ill let you know so you can document the event! BTW, I’m almost sure i’m going to buy the new Phantom Pro V2.0 with the built in screen, Mechanical camera shutter et al....My nephew just bought the Mavic 2 Pro. Does great and good video etc. very compact but the wind sure throws it around when up high!
Great looking back fifty plus years to see that the Hearst Corp. donated the land and mansion, and whatever art Hearst didn't sell during his financial problems of the Great depression, to be preserved. It would have been bulldozed long ago for upscale homes, or some millionaire's ranch.

It’s in the middle of the desert next to the ocean, how the hell is a flood going to happen atop a mountain? It has an airport because that’s the quickest way Hearst’s guests could get to San Simeon. And Hearst had it specifically built to cater to his guests as well as air shipments from Europe carrying antiques and art. And it was a joint construction between Hearst and his architect Julia Morgan, I mean come on! There’s documentation and contemporary footage of the construction with Hearst on site with Morgan. And if not Hearst who else would’ve built this ostentatious display dedicated to one man’s ego.
