Wow very nice.... actually in Kerala dish appam, we boil little bit of the batter (kappi kachiyadhu), and add it with coconut milk to the batter, finally ferment.. only difference is no urad dal in appam.... will try this out for sure 😊👍

In kerala appam dosa is prepared in this wayusing coconut milk and boiled dosa battwr mixed and fermented
For Aappam, they add little toddy for fermentstion and poured with a rotation in a kadai type ( Aappa Chatti ) pan and covered with a lid; but once taken out, the outer edge will be thin and crispy and the centre portion will be fluffy, soft with porous on it. To be eaten with coconut milk+sugar or coconut chutney. Easily digestable from a one year baby to 80-90 year old man.

We do Kerala vellai appam similar way except urud dhal.
That rice batter cooked in water is called kuruku in malayalam.
That is appam, in karanataka it is happu dosa.
