You need at least access to the BIOS/UEFI because you can't boot from a Windows/Linux installer, so it can't have a BIOS password. Also, I'd recommend replacing the internal drive and upgrading the memory unless your thin client already has at least 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM.
A question can anyone suggest how much I can put a computer lab together for 10 stations using this Thin CLinet and Ubuntu for a school here in Merida Mexico. I need the least expensive Idea, any thoghts ?

Will this computer cope with such a task in the basic factory configuration using the native Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard operating system preinstalled on it?
I recently scored a newer model to this one, a hp T610, with 4Gb ram and 16Gb DOM. Hopefully I won't have as much trouble as you did getting an operating system up and running on it (although I don't plan on using windows, I'll be installing debian). Did you try checking to see if there were updated drivers for the graphics module, mabye that may have taken some load off the cpu when playing YT videos :)

What protocol do they use to connect to a remote Windows machine ? 4. Is there a special requirement in the remote Windows machine to get this think client connected ? Terminal Server licensing?, or It's fine with the default 2 max simultaneous sessions allowed on Windows ? 5. Asuming there's a powerful (gaming) remote Windows machine, can any app (residing in the remote windows machine) be used fluently or is there any limitation on the think client despite the power onto the remote windows machine ? 6. Other Stuff is welcome too. Thanks.

hey, thanks for the reply, so far i think so , the cpu is embeded on thin clients right? it seems the heatsink still intact so i didn't mind going through it, i cant determine which part is the ram though i was thinking similar to laptops, i think mine is HP Smart Client t5565z, btw can i use this like raspberry pi thx :)
That's a different model entirely. But yeah, they typically use laptop RAM and my thin client had an AMD S1 socket for Sempron and Turion chips, so that's why I suggested checking that. Yours has a VIA Nano CPU, which isn't upgradable. It has one DDR3 SODIMM slot, though, which needs to be populated. Also make sure you have a 65W adapter connected.

I'm wondering if it is worthwhile to solder the second dimm connector for double pipe RAM access. Should be supported by the processor? Luckily had a few 2GB modules from my pile of old laptops so possibly 4GB atleast. Your jaggy video playback is definately CPU mode, it is a matter of finding the proper driver with propietary ATI codec so the GPU can handle it. BTW you're supposed to write "exit" to get out of diskpart, just closing the CMD is butch! And I'm attempting a win10 install on my T5730.
Just use puppy linux or slitaz then YT will be good. Or try difrent browser palemoon midori. Nice work i have dos 7.1 on my hp thin client coz i use Terminal HP T5565 Thin Client U3500 1.0GHz 1GB ZAS And i cant find orginal soft from hp... And hdd is flash card then i cant install any windows or other without pain... I think last way i must use freeDOS and then try "broke" my 1GB flash card. Coz i wont use it not buy another disk... PS. What this xp is? that 1 edition who You use for install?
It would run You Tube videos ..just download Pot Player and copy the URL and paste it in ..works on low end machines very well . Seems like internet is the big stumbling block ..videos and browser kill it ...same with the low end Atom cpu ..i have a Pentium 4 lap top from 2003 and it plays HD youtube 720P ....but using Pot Player and not a browser .

I believe you need to use the hidden USB port to load windows 7. There are two USB ports under the top cover.

I have one this pc but windows embedded 7 standerd can't install so how can I do to install this successfully

Replace the CMOS battery inside. That worked for me.
i removed the DOM to make it boot from a hd on thr sata port. i have a hp t5740

Any idea if this will boot Windows 98 and/or DOS 6.22?
Any PC can run DOS but win98 is a different story. That only works on pre 2005 hardware (this is from 2009).
How did u downloaded windows?
Mostly through either torrent or usenet. For most Windows versions, I have plenty of legit keys laying around so all I need is an ISO.
