Can't wait for the video on the locking mechanism. I think a while back I told you that my driver door locks from the inside but not from the outside because one of those little clips broke. I think I found the right clip, just gotta take my door apart and change it out! These door videos may seem basic but I remember when I first got a Jeep, I tried doing this handle swap with the door panel still on. Learned the hard way after hours of frustration and cussing that all I had to do was take the panel off LOL
Thanks, your admoishment to be very careful with the clips and the use of the shoe string to extend the rod is very helpful. I wish I'd seen this before I fixed my handle last year!

Thanks Chuck great video. Thank you for sharing . I had the brittle white clip break on my yj door handle and hard to find. The rod kept popping out and thus I could not open the door. I used a small and light bungee cord to pull down (hook the other end to anything below you can find)on the rod and keep it from popping out. worked great for me.
Nice video, kind of makes you wonder why they have locks on half doors when most people have soft uppers. I also like to take what ever it is I take apart and take the time to get the wash bucket and hose out and give it a good cleaning before putting it back together. Thanks for the video's.
Its an insurance thing. If something gets stolen you can say you had your doors locked and was broken into. Then the insurance has to pay out. But, no locks ... no pay in some areas. Glad you like the videos! Have a great day!!
9:37 the rod from the locking cylinder to the mechanism. what does that go to? the one on my 92 YJ fell off/maybe broke so I cant lock or unlock it from the outside. Appreciate the help if anyone knows
Question is there a site or a place to find a list for parts frome other make vehicles that will work on a yj dont want to sound cheap but im on a fixed income from back fussed any help would be appreciated thank you in advance
On Facebook groups and Jeep forums people list parts interchange. You would have to search for them. I can tell you XJ Cherokees have many parts that interchange. My engine and transmission came out of a 95 Cherokee. Don't worry about sounding cheap man, everybody tries to save money building and fixing their Jeeps. You are not alone I promise!! Back to square one jeep started same stuff again after 3 days I know that brand new Bosch 02 sen has failed in that time
