    Both dresses are so cute! And I love the little drawing animations when you're tracing the pattern out, it's such a great addition.

    Looks great, I often duplicate dresses I love. My favorite thing is to see something I like at a shop or on someone and then go home and duplicate it, which can be a bit challenging but really satisfying when it all comes together. I get a bit bored following patterns all the time so I really like just going at it and making my own.

      I couldn’t agree more! It’s such a satisfying process and a fun challenge to try and figure it out 😄

    Great tutorial! I have found I get way less gapping when I draft my side seam pockets with a shape so that I can secure the top of the pocket in the waistband, which is what I’ve exclusively switched to for my side seams as it also helps with weight distribution when I put my phone in it.

    • @RoseryApparel
      @RoseryApparel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that’s a good idea! I have that style of pocket included with my Hannah wrap skirt pattern and will try it next time 😊

    Looks amazing! Great work, as always!
    My favorite fixes for gaping & drooping pockets are extending the top edge of the pocket and sewing it into the waist seam
    That, and/or adding a line of twill tape or grosgrain ribbon along the straight sideseam edges. ☺️

    Brilliant! The great thing with this method is knowing it will fit and that you will love it. Also empowering to put in personalized tweaks like you did with the sleeves.

    This was so fun to watch!! Not sure if you’ve ever answered this question, but when I do a shirred back panel on the bodice & then sew on the skirt, I’m not sure if I should stretch the shirring as I sew that part of the skirt on? How do you sew it on so that the shirring can still expand with the skirt attached? Thank you so much!!

    Thank you for your tutorial. A number of duplication videos are about tracing, but this can be difficult especially if the garment is elasticated in any way. I love your idea of measuring and drawing out to duplicate. This seems so much easier than me trying to trace though I imagine both methods could be used useful depending on what you are trying to duplicate.

    No matter how hard I try I just don't feel comfortable in dresses, but I still think they're so cute and I also wanted to figure out how to recreate a top I love. That being said, I would totally make the bodice for your burnt orange dress and just wear that with overalls or jeans, and the finished dress is so pretty!
