    When you live with a genetic condition like Alpha 1 you absolutely know how important the liver is in your overall health and mortality. Until it's identified in your family no doctor takes you seriously or can identify the cause of the multiple diverse signs and symptoms you present with. My eldest brother died of Leukaemia at 9, my geat grandmother of gangrene from untreated diabetes, my grandmother of liver disease, my mother had Emphysema, Kidney tumours and strokes, my youngest brother had Pancreatitis at 27, dying of Amyloidosis at 54. We didn't know about this condition until my niece's son had to have a liver transplant shortly after birth. With over 500 processes in the body the liver is the reason you live well or die badly. Dr Cywes, please keep on focusing on the liver, and people, listen to him and love your liver today and every day.

    About 3 months ago, I started the Carnivore Lifestyle and today I'm 63. 3 months ago I was at 257 and today at 222...During this change I had a stroke. But, I dodged the bullet this time. Why because a little over two years ago I had pneumonia real bad and ended with congestive heart failure. I recovered and got active again and the Stroke...What I got from the stroke was a slurred voice, that is coming back. I have video's on my progress. I think the carnivore life has saved my life...I've been listening to you just recently and I am amazed at the Information. Every day I feel younger just for losing 35 pounds and great info...Thanks, Doc...

I was so over being overweight, sad, tired, aching, and listless. My journey and goal is to heal my liver and love my liver. Everything else will fall into place and all will be well. Thank you. I am in the same boat. If I stumble across a video that is more than 20 minutes, I usually pass on it. In rare cases, like these videos, I will watch them if they are less than 30 minutes. I usually do not want to invest more time than that watching videos on my computer.

    This is awesome. I'm low carb, haven't gotten rid of insulin resistance yet, but I have HBP and my iron is low (not certified anemic, but my hemoglobin is low, even after taking iron). I started working on my liver two months ago. Now I know the reasons why I'm not healthy as I should be. And I know what to do about it. It was placed in my records that I have a fatty liver after an abdominal scan, but no one was talking about it. No one seems interested in NAFLD.

One of your videos said if you have UC, IBS, Crohn's get on the Carnivore diet and stick with it and you will see great improvement but could take two years. I'm only on week twelve but have seen improvement with like baby steps and then days I feel not so good but I will not give up and not let a day discourage me. After all I'm really just getting started. I can say one thing is my stomach isn't always upset and not hurting as much. Thank you so much and one day maybe I'll call to get some help with your test you run. Can't wait to tell the world how this helped me get my life back to help others.

That is anything that have the potential to cause a fatty liver. I have practiced LCHF for three years now. I feel great, better than ever. Hopefully it is so, it feels like that, that my body benefits from this in the ways Dr. Cywes says. I recover quicker after physical activity, short term, long term. Plus a lot more.

    Thank you so much for making these videos and explaining how our bodies work. My husband and I started Keto the middle of April, and are now Carnivore. He has gone from 280 to 262 and has stalled. Is it possible the liver has to “clear” out and lose fat before his body can continue to drop weight and heal? So many good health outcomes from stopping carbs!

      My weight loss journey has stalled several times, once for almost six weeks. I don't know why but I found that if I increase my fasting time weight loss resumed. I'm now OMAD and down 75# from 250 to 174 with no issues re. hunger or loss of energy level. For reference, I now eat 10 oz of ground beef browned with 4 Ex. Lg. eggs scrambled in most days. I use different spices I can tolerate and a couple cheeses to vary the taste and texture of the food. Fish, all beef hot dogs and full-fat brisket also provide variety with a steak mixed in once in a while. Life is good!

      This is something confused me. I was under the impression that IGF-1 was very potent. It sounded very beneficial for everything but cancer. Not something you want to stimulate growth in. Any answer for my pea brain would be appreciated. 😁

    • @JYAN2852
      @JYAN2852 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wheelofcheese100 IGF-1 is a nutrient sensing hormone activated by Leucine amino acid (and few others). It promotes cell proliferation like you said it's bad for cancer cells. But if immune system natural T killer cells and antioxidants are doing their job then cancer development should not be an issue. Cells get damaged, die off, etc so we need mTOR to function. Especially for skeletal muscle growth, skin cells, ligaments, hair, nails. It is my opinion that many people fear cancer and eat too little protein as a result. Cancer can only develop and grow if the system in place to keep it in check is compromised.

    Hmmm. If you have cancer, I think it is very important that you lower your IGF-1 because IGF-1 stimulates your cancer cells to grow. Of course you don't want that. IGF-1 is found in dairy products, meat, eggs and soy. It is also important to keep your insuline low. So is it smart to follow-up a Keto diet even when insuline is low and your liver is healthy????🙄. Doc - surely you cannot be at 3.6mmol/L and still be lekker sharp! I've an ALT of 15, not put a carb in my mouth for 5-years...BMI of 20 and the absolute lowest that my glucose goes is 4.1mmol/L, this at 4am and when I have been fasting for 16-hours!!

    Dr Cywes, Can u please do a satiety vid ? , and please put the word satiety in the heading so it can be searched on Google.
    The satiety u feel when u eat only meat on carnivore, or ketovore is perfection for obese people like myself . No other diet comes close in terms of satiety.
    Please explain why meat is soo great for satiety.

    • @graveseeker

      Actually it's the fat that provides energy & satiety. Eat enough fat and you won't be hungry or lethargic or get cravings. It's just that simple.

    • @graveseeker
      @graveseeker ปีที่แล้ว

      If your semi-annual blood work doesn't indicate high glucose/A1C issues, buying a monitor is probably a waste of money. If you just have to have one, I think you can buy them at any pharmacy without a prescription. If I'm wrong, you should have no trouble getting a script from your doctor.

    Please help, I’m confused - You stated that “fatty liver is direct consequence carbohydrate consumption” (6:56). I have eaten low carb for 10 years, and,
    I’ve been carnivore for the past year and a half (trying to correct crazy weight gain & raging symptoms from menopause). Recent Dr visit read my labs and said I have non alcohol fatty liver disease - ?!
    *Also- no weight loss!

    • @Czibs111
      @Czibs111 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Define your low carb diet….
      Also, hepatitis and viruses can damage liver cells
      And remember protein in amounts larger than your palm is converted to sugar for storage if not used…
      You should introduce intermittent fasting now - it really is your only option

    • @robertcywes2966

      @@robertcywes2966 I know of no process that converts protein to carbs. The body will produce needed glucose from proteins if necessary to maintain brain, etc. processes. Excess protein is generally filtered by the kidneys and is excreted. Protein should be about 1 gram per pound of ideal body weight and fat should be equal to or greater than that.
