I traveled by helicopter weekly for a few years. I and fellow passengers were always escorted to and from the helicopters. Rules and regulations exist for a reason and the onus is on the service providers to adopt or develop safety protocols to protect life and assets. This accident would never happen if they had implemented such protocols.

It's about being present in the moment that most of the staff aren't because of diving deep into mobile and everything and ignoring the hazard signs and everything! Even after proper training they don't take it seriously and get into accidents... I am a trainer in Aviation Security, trust me it's always the fault of the person who died!

Tail rotors kill alot of people. Even when getting in and getting off helicopter you need to walk past front, its the rules. I like some airbus models that way as rotor has covering. Didn't realize what difference it makes. Rip to this gentleman

They forgot to tie the seat belts for passengers in the middle rows (they are kinda different from aircraft) and left people scrambling to tie them after we took off.

I’ve seen many people come close to ending their own life’s from lack of situational awareness around helicopter and aircraft blades. After I watched this video I obviously got a load of Kedarnath videos "recommended" in the sidebar. After watching those other videos and seeing the boarding procedures and safety measures at this helipad, the only thing I can say is -- It's surprising there aren't more fatalities. In fact it's surprising there isn't a fatality every day.
I went to Kedarnath 2 years back, trust me that Helipad over there is extremely pathetic. No security rules, no proper safety protocols are maintained. Helicopters are round tripping like local buses, I am damn sure the Helicopters are also not well maintained. So I skipped the bookings.

Amazes me that he was an inspector and usually inspectors are chosen because they are typically more aware of things and have an eye for things that are incorrect, or out of place with the others. How does a guy that was hired to be an inspector then suddenly decide to walk into a running helicopter propeller? Tbf, He did desk job and he was an auditor(related to finances) . The department he worked in was Civil aviation authority. But still wish he paid heed to the pilot, probably was absent minded that day. Thats how accidents happen.

That’s really sad. In 1988 I was in the US Forest Service fighting forest fires. I rode in a ton of different types of helicopters. We did a lot of safety training so this type of thing didn’t happen.

He was my friend and class mate. It’s a common cause of accidents We can't see tail rotor through naked eyes and top rotor creates noise and air pressure to simulate confusion. There should be marshall on helipad to guide crew and passengers but obviously sarakari kaam.
That's why there's something called "safety protocols" which Indians take very lightly. Being in Aviation ministry atleast he should be aware about such informations. Hope people remember once how many accidents happen everyday in this country yet we don't say a word. We are going backwards. After years of evolution we are dying due to stupid accidents everyday.
