Rekluse Torque Drive clutch solves your YZ cheap clutch issue. They are awesome!!! Love the video, and your honesty is what drives your channel so well, thank you for that.
@@highlandcycles It would be great to see Rekluse send you one for free. So many people think Rekluse is all about auto clutches but what they are really missing out on, is by not buying and using their torque drive clutch, it is great. With your real world up close videos demonstrating it, I think a lot of riders would purchase and give it a try. Thanks so much, Morgan!
-I got 365 Hrs on my YZ250X clutch...Have a replacement OEM clutch kit to replace, but doesnt need it yet...change my oil every race/every other ride -YZ250X has softer clutch springs than YZ250 -Hydraulic clutch better in hard enduro, but i dont ride hard enduro very often
@jonsainsbury8726 I had 135 hrs on my stock hub and basket. The last 70 hrs on the same tusk plates. Everything from deep dunes to harescrambles. I've had 5 YZs and only 1 with a pull i didn't like.
The gytr basket has good groove resistance and a little cheaper than the hinson and honestly they look so similar I wonder if hinson makes them for yamaha?
I'm not the biggest fan of the See through tanks I think bikes look better with color matching tanks I think it just makes the whole design of the bike look better
just guessing on the black tank. just wondering how easy it is to get good high octane gas overseas. the black tank could be in case of fuel additive, some react to sunlight in different ways. a friend with the kinda clear ktm tank turned a really brownish red dirt color.
I haven’t ridden far enough to be in any fuel level danger but I honestly hate the white gas tanks lol my dinosaur ktm has a black one but it’s freaking huge. Well it’s huge to me anyways. 3.5-3.75 gallons ish
I belive over the years fantic will modify each time to make it more enduro like and less of it's original form (the yz) so next year fantic should be way better
...and a lot of people think a 6 speed is like an over drive allowing more top speed but it is really just another gear in between first and last. It is not an overdrive. However the extra gear does allow you to run higher overall gearing while retaining a lower 1st gear. Instead of 12/50 you could run a 13 and have a little more speed in top gear and not lose the low first gear.
I have ridden some 5 and 6 gear enduros. the ones with five gears had a top speed around 80mph. the ones with a 6th gear were able to go up to 105mph. This of course varies depending on the manufacturer and model But in general the 6th gear indeed is some kind of "extra gear".
I have had 4 Yamaha DTRs and a YZ 250 I never had clutch problems , an 5 speed is better for racing, 6 speed is better for woods , bikes with carbs are better an just kick start , no kick start , F that shit
I don’t know. The subframe is a little different. You’d probably have to do the whole air box and maybe fender. I’m going to get a set of plastic for spares and we can try
I pulled 2 clutch springs off my Yz 250 woods build, let me slip it easier and felt less grabby and never had any issues but I’m also a light rider at 138lbs May be worth giving that a shot?
@ understood! The Yamaha clutch definitely isn’t the strong point but just figured I’d let ya know what I did to help it out a bit! I still ended up buying a Husqvarna 🤣 good luck on your fantic can’t wait to see an overall video on it long term!
With the clutch, if it has a yz250 clutch id look into swapping out the clutch springs and fibers out for the YZ250x versions. I own both bikes and the clutch on the yz250x is WAY less grabby and easier pull. Night and day difference. Look at Yamaha part # BRY-W001G-00-00 its $152 for an entire clutch kit. Worth a shot. 👍🏻
@jonsainsbury8726 doubt it. They've just received another 700 million in support, layoffs have dropped from 500 to 200. The CEO Stephan Peirre's net worth is enough to save them without investors, although I'm sure that's not how it will work out. Many successful businesses go through bankruptcies to restructure debts.
Can't you put a relay in for when you bump start it it makes the pulse in the ignition turn on the fuel pump for it will bump start or does it have to be wired into the switch first before the fuel pump starts automatically and preloads the fuel injection system up with fuel pressure it should be loaded with fuel pressure when it stalls and it you should be able to bump start it as the motor turns over and fires off
You are right yamaha clutches suck reminds me of the old suzuki rm's . Yamaha clutch baskets always notched and grabby . I dont mind the cable feel personally if all else is right .
I have a 2019 yz250x and ive never though oh i need a better clutch. It feels great. Seem like you shouldve just bought a Yamaha. Probably have a lot less to complain about. I bet you wont have that thing in a year.
I’ve owned 8 or 9 YZ250’s. I love them. But I hated their clutches too. Ask Cody Webb why he but the rekluse torque drive manual in his YZ? They work fine for people who don’t slip the clutch a ton.
Clear tanks although convenient become the ugliest most dingy looking part of any dirt bike, if you know your bike well the odometer will do a great job of helping you know your fuel level so that shouldn't be that big of a deal.
I understand why you don't like the black fuel tank however the black, red & white colors on the Fantic look excellent as they're pretty much my favorite colors! Especially the black&red!

She’ll Rotella 15/40 non-synthetic in the white bottle has solved some of my grabby clutches over the years, and it makes the clutch last a long time.
Torque Drive clutches are awesome, until you see what they cost.
I have a black tank on my beta… the damn clear ones were out of stock when I cracked my stock tank!

Poor pipes already dented 😢i agree with the black tank , whole reason why i got the clear oversized tank on my yz250

I don’t care enough about the looks of a bike to want a matched tank. I want to see the fuel.
Great review gain, strange its only 5 speed, I guess they made the bike as more of a cross-country racer than an enduro
Yeah and it’s more or less a YZ and I hear there is just no room for a 6 speed box
Can't you put a relay in it when it hits the Pulitzer in the flywheel that it starts the fuel injection pump for you can bump start it on a relay
You don't need a 6 speed in an Enduro... Yes it's nice to have 6th but more for transfers then actual racing

YZ250X clutch springs are 20 percent softer,,, use a full set of those instead of pulling springs for more even pressure on plate
Ktm won’t allow acerbis to make plastics for 2023+ two strokes

Same frame but subframe is different and tank is different.

yz needs 50/50 trans oil and atf. Never had an issue!
Interesting, never tried that. I'll have to try it out.
I will be hard to get away from my BelRay. It already saved me when I had to ride out with a broken clutch cover and no oil left. No damage.
