- In the Karaz Ankor there is no Dawi like Belegar Ironhammer, the True King of Karak Eight Peaks. Descended from a royal line haunted by an ancient shame and orphaned from his ancestral home, this Lord of the Dwarfs will stop at nothing to reclaim what rightfully belongs to him. Join me then, as we explore the life story of the most ambitious King in the Everlasting Realm and his attempt to change destiny.

I agree with this. GW is bringing the Old World back. Already confirmd. So we hopefully can see Belegar again. My fear is it will be set in the history of the Old World but still, at least it will be back again.

My introduction to Belegar Ironhammer was in the Gotrek and Felix story "The Dark Beneath The World" and William King's depiction of him has stuck with me. That proud, bitter, half mad king sitting in a broken city will always be how I see Belegar.
He's in the story I'm reading right now. Gotrek & Felix, Trollslayer. Is that the one?

I watched the whole thing and time just flew by. Calling yourself "Loremaster" is a pretty big claim, but you always live up to it.
This story just makes me want a Darkest Dungeon-style Warhammer game where you play as different mercenaries hunting for treasure in the depths of the Karak for King Belegar.
I’m starting a Belegar campaign because of this.

I feel that, but I just really fucking hate playing as or against the Dwarfs. It's the same damn thing every time.

3... hours.... of lore.... the lack of lore for the past few months grudge has been removed from the great book of grudges and all dwarfs smile at this video.
on a side note though im suprised thorgrim and ungrim have less lore than belegar as i thought those 2 played bigger roles

Can you imagine a skyrim like game set around the warhammer world. Obviously shrank down or with multiple regions with fast travel points kinda like the witcher. Meeting and aiding Belegar or Settra? This could be a seriously impressive game given time and vision

This is a great video. I always feel for the Dawi, centuries an Millenia of slow decline. Not because they were weak or too few or had no allies etc. But because their enemies were two of the most numerous and reckless races that could invade them from above and below. You did a good job telling the story, knowing how Dawi-stories usually go I expected his wife to die at the last moments or something.
Ofc the Endtimes are the Endtimes etc. But well, Warhammer being what it is, I always think that the dwarfs do not deserve their depressing fate. Yes they are the epitome of the old-timer being swept away by change. But that is not what usually happens. Their doom comes from their oldest foes. And even with Skaven using "technology"... Neither the Greenskins nor the Skaven are "the new, powerful Generation that overwhelms the old that are stuck in the past"
It's just the depressing decline of glory ages past, slowly being ground down by the same old enemies and issues. Good thing Twwh is a sandbox, where reversing that fate is possible. Ah well :) thanks for the great video.

You can tell the burning spite Dwarfs feel for their enemies: The Khazalid word for Skaven and Assasin is one and the same, Thaggoraki.
I really do feel of all the factions in warhammer, the dawi's history is the most tragic.
I love the appearence of Gotrek and Felix, I love their adventure! Their duo is one of my favorites ever!
2 hours and 16 mins in and Belegar has become my favorite dwarf of all time.

Love the video. As a fan of Warhammer Fantasty Battles since 1986 the End Times do not exist for me. GW has already said the Old World is coming back. Belegar Ironhammer is still there with his beloved wife and baby thwarting everything the grobi and rats can throw at him. He is my favorite Dwarf and I have a blast using him in Total War Warhammer 1, 2 and I'm sure 3 as well.

I really think that CA missed a massive opportunity to make karag eight peaks into a city in campaign with three levels. One rat, one gobbo and one stuntie. I'm sure they could have got it to work. Could have made excellent mechanic options and outcomes. Even a mini game to take the karag for one of the factions. This is just me spit balling off the top of my head
I like it. Belegar's item quest battles set in the depths of K8P maybe.
@@halwakka504 I thought about it more and decided you could even do the whole 8 peaks, especially the mini campaign idea, really flesh out the 8 peaks, it probably one of the most unique holds/castle in the entire lore and they missed a trick to me

SO hard to watch these full lore story videos at times, not because of the length of time to watch but that unless you like Chaos factions no one has a "happy" ending. I laughed I felt sad for him and you want him to prevail so badly, but you know it all just blinks out and I know this from minute 1. But I still love it you do an amazing job at wrapping all the info together.

When you went over his equipment, was there a reason that you didn't mention the stand he carriers on his back? To me its one of his most visually striking features. Did they just not have a lot written about it?

thanks for this! Just got into TW Warhammer about a month ago, picked up the Dlc that includes the Belegar Ironhammer campaign so going through this was really cool.
The Battle For Karak Eight Peaks campaign in White Dwarf 375 was when I truly fell in love with Warhammer.

New to the lore so,Pretty much belegar Is thorin and his clans story is almost the same in essence as that of the dwarves of erebor just more epic(literally got azog vibes when I heard about the name of the goblin/orc general being inscribed onto the body of a dwarf)

@@braedenconti36 Belegar's story is really good until the end times. Being saved by Thorgrim on the day his son was born should have been a good anchor point from which to have him grow and mature as an individual and a king.

In my opinion he needed massive reinforcements which the other Dwarven clans couldn't provide to be able to reclaim the Eight Peaks,although Belegar being so bullheaded in numerous occasions didn'r help him. Grudges from Thorgrim isn't anything you want,let alone other dwarven guilds and clans.
@@Rellana1 indeed the dwarfs needed the ferocity of someone like belegar but the patience and cunning of thorgrim to retake karak eight peaks
I'm sure Thorgrim would have wished to assist Belegar more,but being the High King, he had many urgent matters to attend to of which Karak Eight peaks was one of many.
@@Rellana1 well there was simply no hope of retaking the fortress at the time belegar staying there probably doomed the entire karaz ankor as after he did decide to stay there karak azul fell barak varr soon after everpeak itself was besieged karak kadrin destroyed the grey mountain holds all overun along with karak hirn and zhufbar destroyed if he helped the siege of karak azul he could have kept the proud fortress from falling into the hands of the skaven and probably atleast had a hope of saving further fortress from falling
