One thing I do like about Heinrich Hemmler's battle strategy is that when an undead falls he just...like...reanimates them again? Without thoroughly established rules, the destruction of an undead being can feel very arbitrary. And while it is still is as the plot demands, it is nice to see things like "His power is so great, he can reanimate singular arms to lurch toward his opponents". So we can length the tenacity of his horde directly to his own situational power.

Sotek, since you mention it in relation to Kemmler, I'm having a hard time understanding the relation between "Dark Magic", Necromancy and Chaos. As far as I know, Nagash learns Dark Magic from Dark Elf hostages long ago. This leads to his mastery of necromancy. Kemmler seems to have power over Dark Magic too? I know Morathi used to be a Chaos-affiliated character to some extent, and she was the OG Dark magic user, right? So is this confusion the result of the lore-change which made Dark Elves less chaos-y?
I aint an expert but I think I might be able to help. so magic in the Warhammer world works by using the winds of magic as a sort of fuel. The winds of magic flow out of the chaos portals at the north and south poles. There are 8 different winds, each with their own school of magic dedicated to them. Necromancy is a dark magic, which means rather than sift though the winds looking for a specific one, say the fire wind to cast a fireball, the dark magic user just grabs whatever wind is nearby at the time. The Dark elfs use a different kind of dark magic, rather than sloppily grabbing magic in the heat of the moment, they crush and refine all winds of magic into one. Proper dark magic (Dhar) is similar to high magic in that it uses all winds, so I don't think mortal men can wield it, but necromancy and other makeshift magic schools are just saying screw it these winds will do. In conclusion everyone uses chaos magic, and necromancy is dark magic but isn't true dark magic like the Dhar of the dark elves. I think that's all correct, tho it wouldn't surprise me if I got a lot of it wrong
So what Cameron Mcindoe said but the form of Dark Magic that Necromancers use is stagnant magic. Basically, when magic from the various winds remains in the world for too long it gathers in various locations and mixes and sours. The use of this magic why most Necromancers have a warped appearance. Also proper Chaos magic is pulled directly from the Realm of Chaos, usually through the sorcerer' soul. This is raw magic which is different from the Winds of Magic which occur because raw magic is forced to split into more stable forms due to the nature of the material realm.
Dark magic is magic based upon bending the discordant winds (and therefore chaos) to your will by force. Necromancy is one aspect of this, as are Skaven magic and beastmen magic. The dark elves have full mastery of this and that is dhar. Nagash mastered the aspects of it relating to the wind of death and that is Necromancy. Chaos magic is dhar, but in the aspect of a particular chaos God. So tzeentch magic takes aspects from the wind of heavens, the wind of fire, the wind of beasts Etc and bends them to the users will in the same way Necromancy does the lore of death. All magic is related in that it comes from the same source and all dark magic is related in that it uses the same methodology.

@@RawCauliflowerMeant more that he seems to be just kind of getting his powers because.. Idunno, Deus Ex Machina?
@@AnthroTsuneon What powers? He was a northern king and a champion of chaos who probably received many gifts from the ruinous powers, just like any other chaos warrior. A short while after he was killed, he got resurrected as a powerful wight and still kept the same combat ability as he had in his previous life. He is just a thug with dark magic flowing through him and a powerful weapon, that is it.
@@RawCauliflowerIt appears, as I only notice with you starting about northern kings and chaos, I had mistaken the two K's in my fatigue and said Krell instead of Kemmler. Time for an edit to fix this
@@AnthroTsuneon Thank you. So now onto Kemmler himself, he was the first written character in Warhammer fantasy and design wise he may not look that impressive at first glance or have the most tragic backstory. However if you listened to his backstory he just increased his skill of necromancy over centuries, he is not some character who learns magic out of nowhere. Otherwise you could argue that Nagash is a Gary Sue.
Also a lot of his backstory is also based on "oldhammer" so you see him wield items like a chaos blade, even though no necromancer or vampire would wield anything chaos related if they were written over the last 10 years. I am not sure where the decision of chaos gods working with Kemmler came from, again feels like oldhammer.
I'm listening around 1:10:00 what song is this?
I'm drowning in content, but dammit if I don't want Kemmler to have Simulacra and his other special army units lol
Kemmler is one of the most powerfull being in Warhammer universe. I love it so much
Thank you for your hard work.
Is that necromancer related to the "Ploundered Vaults" book?
So the staff is a sonar, a camera a microphone and a drone in one ??!
This is....BRILLIANT!
Is Heimrich Kemmler the advisor in TWW1+2? maybe 3? :)
(my head hurts from that thought alone....... what means i could be on the right path......)
I mean unless Kemmler is giving advice to himself in his campaign...
@@InquisitorThomas Hmm but we are playing time tricks anyways in this thing. Maybe he is Kemmler from another timeline ,-)
Well done sir best yet
Me: Mom, can I have Heinrich Himmler?
Mom: No, we have Heinrich Himmler at home.
Heinrich Himmler at home:
you should do a podcast on spotify
Also do you think base on how he died. That he could come back as a demon on AoS?
excellent material - thank You!
Wow, impressive. Great job!
Great video Loremaster of Stotek
Arkhan died the first time via thrown spear in back. How is that similar to miscast explosion?
Awesome upload Sotek! As are they all 👏👏👏
