I lived in oahu as a young 25 year old. Traveled to Maui and mostly camped and hitchhiked, didn’t spend much for a 3 week vacation! Now, at 60, I’m planning to go probably to the big island for six months, with my wife and 4 year old son. Shipping my car, as car rentals are crazy there. Rents are very high too, but I’ve done well these 35 years since I left Hawaii, rented our house in Vegas, we’ll rent a small2 bedroom there.

My husband and I would love to ho there for a couple months, trying to figure out how much it's gonna cost, how to go on budget (we know it can't be on budget with Hawaii, but at least cheaper)

We stayed Kanappail or Kihei, I think we prefer Kihei less resorty more local feel. That’s why we love Kapaa 😃

Visit Maui for sure!!! Be sure and go to little Makena, the nude beach in Makena!!! Bub…..wear sturdy footwear if you want to see a blacksand beach!!!
