    Hell of a job, Doug. Very well done. I still admire you for taking that step and building the trailer.

    Nice Doug! That’s quite a bit of organization on those photos. It’s been a trip!

      This video took longer than I anticipated. But maybe I should have asked you for any photos in your collection too. Oh, well... maybe next time I build a trailer.

      Doug Johnson Productions I do have quite a few time lapses from my phone, but oh well. Next trailer for sure 😜

    So jealous Doug. A lot of thought, planning and hard work out into this project. Something I've dreamed of for years. Way to go!

    Do you have any problem with static electricity interference, due to carpet use?

    Looks Great!
    Now that you've finished the build and been using it a while...anything you would want to change if you we're to do any major upgrades or a 2nd build?

    • @djp_video
      @djp_video  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nothing major, I don't think. The one thing that has been the driver of the most changes since "completion" is actually shooting videos for this TH-cam channel. I didn't put a lot of thought into that during the design or construction phases. The layout may have been different to better accommodate that. And I've had to run extra lines throughout for video, audio, and power for cameras, microphones, and lighting to make shooting videos a little easier. I should have anticipated that, considering I already had a decent subscriber base when I started construction. But being able to run those cables without tearing things apart has sure been nice.
      I do sometimes wonder if I could have chosen a better layout. Having the main monitor wall opposite the door would generally be better, but finding a layout that permits that and easy access to the back side of the equipment rack has proved fruitless. The current layout also a some disadvantage in that operators at the CG/PTZ stations are sitting right in the walkway, but in the amount of space available I haven't come up with anything better. Especially because we can do those jobs from other stations, so those two are often the last to be filled.
      Weight distribution could be better. I need more of the weight in the middle instead of on the ends. When I know I need to travel at freeway speeds, I have to move some of the weight (power cables) from the rear into the main cabin to prevent the trailer from swaying. But, again, I haven't come up with a better solution than what I've got. Putting the equipment rack in the middle might have been better, but getting access to the rear and keeping everything cool would have been much more of a challenge.
      The AC power system is the one that I would almost definitely do differently if I was to start over. Having separate charger/inverter/transfer switch hasn't worked out as well as I'd hoped. I'd probably go with an all-in-one Converter instead. And more batteries, but I can do that at any time.
      Lastly, I'd like more storage. I always need more storage. Had I known that while designing, I would have figured out a clever way to add storage in more places, particularly in the audio booth or in front of the front of the front monitor wall, above the batteries and power equipment. There's quite a bit of space back there -- almost 2 feet at the center. It's essentially just dead space now.

    Very nice!!! Do you have a ext plate for all the hookups? See I have a choice of a thor outlaw rb sorta gutted or a 24’ box truck… I’m kinda leaning towards the thor cause it has a 11’ garage in the back for video and I will convert the bedroom into audio room

    • @djp_video
      @djp_video  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The trailer has a 14x14-inch door with an equipment rack with multiple I/O panels behind it.

      @@djp_video So you can wire everything up from outside right

    • @joeybaronstudio
      @joeybaronstudio 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And all the videos look fantastic I guess on the outside gives you using a jib correct? I got to use the jib arm a lot when I was at NBC and I really love them they are just give a great angle ours is only like a 10 footer wasn’t that big

    • @djp_video
      @djp_video  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We use 7-foot jibs a lot for musical events. Two of my regular camera operators have them. One of them also has a 21-foot jib as well. DJP doesn't own a jib of our own.
